» President Bush and the terror masters from Hyscience
I believe that it was as much a line in the sand intended for the Islamists, and an attempt to bring clarity to an increasingly weak-kneed citizenry - as to the nature and true identity of the enemy we face. [Read More]

Changed just a little could apply to republicans and St George the divine.

led by a self-appointed vanguard that presumes to speak for the American masses. Bush says his own role is to tell Americans, quote, "what is good for them and what is not." And what this man who grew up in wealth and privilege considers good for poor Americans is that they may be killed in a natural disaster. He assures them that his -- that this is the road to paradise -- though he never offers to go along for the ride. Like he never went along for the ride in Vietnam.

This struck me when I heard the speech.

"Americans, it's to be remembered, practically invented war against totalitarian regimes."

The guy did a decent job until making this ludicrous statement, which I will get back to...but first
In order to sustain this "war on terror" it seems to me that we had better take a page from the Israelis and recruit under cover Iraqis to infiltrate the other side. We cannot win this thing with ordinary military methods. Secondly, if he is planning an extended stay for our troops...and I believe at this point there is no other choice...then either a draft or some significantly higher pay needs to come about. I know of people going back for their 3rd tour--not by choice. They sent a friend of mine that was a dental instructor at UT Texas--age 56, female, reservist. I have another acquaintance that is keeping their grandchildren (4) of a husband and wife team BOTH sent to combat in Iraq. The endurance of our military is being strained and althought they are the best trained in the world--they are human beings. We need new, and more soldiers..especially if he is planning to attack Iran...and I think that is a distinct possibility.

Now back to the ludicrous statement. If this is so, then why are we not attacking China or Cuba? Why not N. Korea? And...why did we transfer massive amounts of capital to the soviets, which kept them afloat, for years and years? Why do we keep the Chinese communists afloat by selling out the American worker with trade with a state existing off of slave labor?
America used to be a country of integrity, and a statement like this could have held water from 1776-1900 or so. Since then we have become hypocrits. We choose "which" bad guy is a "bad guy" according to who will profit, not according to any integrity or morality, and to use this as a ploy to sway public opinion is just as hypocritical as the government itself, and bascially destroys the writer's credibility. You cannot mix in lies with truth and expect to sway all of the people. Sooner or later the truth will always bear itself out.

RE: "Tehran... Wahabist dogma"

This guy is really clueless.
