Who is Mickey. And is Bryan the one who stayed when natalee went missing?
Posted by: bmt | Sunday, October 09, 2005 at 10:27 PM
Mickey is Mickey Johns I believe, one of the security guards arrested initially.
And who is the Thomas referenced in the Saturday Hyscience article? There is a link to the Saturday article from the one Dan posted above. It qoutes a post from the JVDS blog - "Everyone knows why Thomas fled Aruba." So who is Thomas? Bryan's twin brother? I can't find the post where it is referenced in the article.

Mikey is Mickey Johns, one of the two security guards first arrested. He had already been questions about missing cameras from the MBHS group and the policy found some of their things at his apartment when Mikey was arrested.
Thomas is one of the Twitty twins, the one who was on video tape playing cards at casino with Joran.
Be sure and look at the link pop up Hyscience posted at the end of todays (or yesterday's) comments. It is a "wow" - goes into a pop up where these two investigators went to Aruba and tell what they found. They found the Lions Den, think it is where the rave happen- is between the Marriott and the Holiday Inn. All tie into the Shango messages. Have pictures of the place, and more. BE sure and go look at it. More has to come out about this place and what it is all about - am fascinated. This is the spot we have been mystified about and they found it.
Would go over there and get the link, but don't dare test my computer again- keeps locking up when change sites and have to completely turn off to unfreeze. Zone Alarm has been going whacko tonight - wonder if something malicious is going on online today.

Wow! That's the Lion Den! From what I could tell this EVIL place isn't located between the hotels or even that close to them. Where did you get that idea from?

from what i read here and on other sites about aruban night life and what the M-BROOK kids did in aruba,my thought is that young american college age students would be better off going to 4 season rocky mtn. ski resorts or rocky mtn. guest ranches that offer many outdoor recreational activities than tiny aruba.they would be treated with more respect by the employees and other guests, there is always the possibility of a woman being kinapped and rape and disapearing there as in aruba but the suspect(s)would have search warrants after them faster than in aruba.there is plenty of wonderful places in this country to vist and have a fun time than going to a tiny place like aruba to get drunk and rape and end up missing and dead witch i think happend to natalie.

Lies. No things found. Stop lying.

Ha, when I was in college there were four things we thought we had to do on for road trips:
1. Fla for spring break 2. snow skiing somewhere 3. Mardi Gras (guess that won't be one of 'em for awhile) 4. Kentucky Derby
I went to all of 'em and was never in any kind of jeopardy and I had no "chaperones" except the other kids. Of course, that was awhile ago, and I guess the world may have become a uglier place, but maybe it is due to the destinations we chose. They were all in the US!!

US, as any other country, has interesting places to visit, but its not the "Salt of the Earth"....
It would be rather limiting for the young mind to stick only to one's own country, given its so young and just few hundred years old...
Too bad some Americans, in a wave of uber patriotism, like to discourage young people from travelling abroad. Nothing expands your world as nuch as visiting new lands and travelling.
It's not Aruba's problem that young American kids come there to "trash". They can always come and lay on the beach, read a book (that's a new concept, ha! education!), visit historic places, fly over to Curacao and visit more interesting and historic places......
I've been to A-B-C islands over 10 times, between age 20 and 32, one is Aruba, I don't even know where Carols and Charlie Bar is......
I did not know there are "RAVES" on the island, and I am not a snob when it comes to some "good drugs"......
I've never had anyone "trashy" buying me drinks, flirting with me in a casino, and drinking "jello shots" out of my stomack........ And look "ma" no hands, I am still alive and kickin'.....
In Aruba there is horse-riding, scuba and snorckling, visiting few historic buildings, hicking, swimming, excersise, eating fruites, breathing fresh air...... Taking a flight over to Curacao, visiting the caves, the Amstel brewery museum, Dutch buildings in downtown, the Floating Market, few Archeological museums (there are MUSEUMS, YOU KNOW)...... And read a blimey book! Like Charles Dickens....... or Remark, or Dante..... It won't kill to read on vacation.
Teach your kids the right priorities and decent forms of entertainment on vacations! And then Aruba, shmaruba...... will not be a danger.... HA!

=========
I went back and read again, and you are correct, it isn't on the beach, but it is close to the highrise beach hotels. I had previously read that the Wyndham was previously the Marriott and that apparently is incorrect. The Lions Den/ VIP Club is at Noord 15 and Noord 17, a directly in the path between the Van der Sloot home and the high rise hotels they say. Is on the road to Oranjestad, turn left at Wendy's (in small shopping center) next to the Wyndham and Noord 15/17 is on that street. All the boat dock pictures and mentions of the Mamba bar between HI and Marriott made me think was right there, but still isn't far away.
Wish someone posting here from Aruba would check it out for us and give us the scoop.

This location is just down the street from the McDonalds where Joran was picked up from.
