This is just sick ... just sick.

Rescuers searched Wednesday night for the bodies of at least two young children who were reportedly tossed in San Francisco Bay near a popular waterfront stretch in a case being investigated as a homicide, authorities said.

A man called 911 at 5:30 p.m. to report that two, and possibly three children, were dropped from Pier 7 into the chilly water, said Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White.

"Because of the nature of the injuries, the possible fatalities, at this time this case is now assigned to our homicide unit," said Police Chief Heather Fong.

"We believe there possibly are three children." The children were believed to be under 10 years old, Fong said.

I can read about many crimes and be upset, but when it involves children like this, I feel physically ill. It's hard to know what to say about something like this. A sane person doesn't do this to their children. Bless them........

IF it actually happened, yes, of course it is absolutly disgusting, but all they have to go on is a phone call? Are there any other witnesses?
did the caller hang around to give a statement?
Of course, they must search and do what they can, but could this be a hoax? A crank caller?
If the story is only as it stands, it is a bit questionable, I would like to see more details, if possible.

Unfortunately, the drugs are sometimes worse than the "disease."
Makes no difference what the excuse is, she needs to pay the price.
If you cannot handle your children, then turn them over to a charitable organization to find homes for them, or even as a last resort, turn them over to the government...but kill them? There is no excuse "good enough."

Unfortunately, she will get three weeks in a mental institution, then let loose to have more babies.

Funny, but Andrea Yates didn't get three weeks in a mental institution. My understanding is that she is still in jail.

Hey its sad but i think alamo is right.After all susan smith is out and she drowned her children all because her new boyfriend wasnt ready to raise kids.she wasnt even sick as i recall.or diagnosed as sick i should say.

My question was based on the report given. If I was a witness, and I didn't see witnesses or mentioned in the report at all, so dont' make judgement as to what I would do.
I happen to be cerified in lifesaving, and an instructor of first aid and CPR, I have in the past saved a number of persons in distress in the water-it was part of my work. If I was there and I say children tossed in the water, I would certainly have jumped in after them without a thought, it wouldn't be the first.
My question is about the article and how it is reported, there are no witnesses to the event in the article that is linked, only a phone call messge. that is all I had to base my comment on.

The man who witnessed her tossing her children into the water also had his two children with him and his 7 yr old son witnessed it too and spoke about it. From what I heard this women STOPPED taking her medication and that's why she went into this mental disorder thing. Why would someone stop taking medicine that allows them to live a kinda normal life and opt to have demons in their head instead?

They had Andrea Yates' husband on Rita Cosby last night and I was amazed that he still visits her and talks about her without malice. I don't care what head problems someone had if they killed 5 of my children I don't think I could be so reasonable. I just found that to be weird. And, after hearing him speak, it appears that this will most definitely be a mental illness defense. Sometimes I think the mental illness defense is a cop out just like Ben Fawley now and he is certified because you don't get social security disability easily.

The x-husband of Andrea stated that she is in jail and was not sent to a psych hospital because the prosecution nor the defense in her case did not get a psych doc in immediately ... that made the case harder to do as a mental illness.

I guess we'll see how this unfolds but that woman needs to be punished for what she has done. I hope the images of what she has done haunts her the rest of her life.

Of course she is. Criminals are now getting the idea...
Before you commit your crime, just go get analyzed and be put on some drugs. Quit taking them a short while later, kill whoever you want, then blame it on your lack of drugs. It's becoming a national pastime.

The women is Schizophrenia (chemical imbalance of the brain) and has been institutionized twice before for the same disorder, her father tryed encouraging her to find temporary homes for the children until she was able and could afford to care for them...she was living out of the Salvation Army Shelter...she stopped taking her meds this past summer...Her family new of her situation, why was no one their supporting her efforts? Without proper medical attention, (shrinks/counseling), followups and most important, staying on meds, the individual remains sick.

in respomse to idiotic comments based on unresearched and ignorant statements such as the ones posted by THEALAMO! People in their right minds do not commit these types of crimes. and, if they are found Not guilty by reason of insanity, that doesn't mean that they walk out in three weeks, or released to society. Instead, they are sent to institutions which are equipped with the proper experts and facilities to get these people the help they need. the time they spend at these facilities are just as much, if not more, than what they would've received if they were sent to jail. ease up on the stupid comments, or at least, research before opening your mouth!
