Fawley: I Restricted Her Breathing During Sex

I've been questioned recently about this post on Thought Printing. As in, How could I post it if I wasn't sure Joran was guilty? Frankly, I debated Dr. Hodges, but he is a licensed psychiatrist and I'm not. My posting his theory doesn't make it mine. However, I'm also not the expert to refute it. And I find the underlying concept behind it very compelling.

In layman's terms the theory would be that when we manufacture lies, elements of the truth impact upon the types of lies we manufacture. So ... I'm thinking, it's now safe to assume that Ben Fawley's abduction story was a lie. In that story he stated that they placed a plastic bag over his head. Didn't happen. But, given Fawley's statement, we would also expect if it were possible to determine a cause of death, it would be suffocation - as Fawley has attempted to rationalize that being the cause of Taylor Behl's death with his rough sex statement. See where I'm going?

Fawley never had a plastic bag placed over his head. Thought Printing - I'm thinking Taylor Behl did. But I sure can't prove it.

Fawley, over the objections of his lawyer, summoned police to the jail to talk Wednesday night. Sources said he described the 17-year-old girl's death as an accident that occurred when he restricted her breathing during the encounter.

Fawley said they were near a beach in rural Mathews County, about 70 miles east of Richmond in the early hours of Sept. 6, the sources confirmed.

Facts are facts, of which we know few compared to what is being guarded (probably for this exact reason.)

Profiling isn't an EXACT science, but some of these outlandish, "This is what happened/ this is where the camera and tripod are," SCENARIOS make profiling look like the end all be all.

Let's look at yesterday's developments. (not that I think it was the least bit responsible to leak this information.)

- Why did BF suddenly feel the need to talk? (My guess is because he learned details of the autopsy (most likely from his attorney) and thought he had a chance at LYING/TALKING HIS WAY OUT OF THE SITUATION, despite his attorney's expert opinion that this was a "bad idea."

This is what SOCIOPATHS do. He was more concerned for his own welfare than what he did to Taylor or how he left her there to rot, while her frantic parents pleaded for information. This also shows his grandiose ego, something that is also the hallmark of a sociopathic personality. Oh the irony that someone so insecure and so "beat down" by society can have an "ego."

"Accident" or not, he sealed his fate when he decided to leave Taylor in that dried out ravine, drive to New Kent to get gas and snack food, and carry on with his life in back in Richmond, like absolutely nothing happened.

He even had the nerve to do an interview and take stabs at Taylor's mother in her time of pain. Accusations of how Taylor could just, ""Disappear," how she, "Liked mischief," and that, "Her mom is going to find out things her mom doesn't want to know right now."

If we listen to Ben's own words, he has told us what he did. Like I've said before and I can say until I'm blue in the face: He weaves truths in with his lies.

1. he and Taylor had SEX that night

2. was abducted LATE NIGHT / EARLY MORNING HOURS

*"The sun hadn't been up long."* THOUGH THE 5 A.M. TIME HE REPORTED WAS 2 HRs. BEFORE DAWN.

3. had a PLASTIC BAG pulled over his head

4. DRIVEN to an UNKNOWN AREA

5. his CAMERA, TRIPOD and $20 in CASH were taken during the attack

*gee, do you think he figured, "Ah well, Taylor's dead, she won't need this $20.00???*

*Also, it is a very good possibility that he did take pictures as a "trophy," and that the camera IS out there hidden with hopes of later retrieval or in the possession of a TRUSTED friend/ future CODEFENDANT

6. was driven back to Richmond by a good sumaritan, stopped to pay for the guy's GAS

I've had enough of the speculating bullshit:

Look at these and tell me how many apply to Ben Fawley?

Glibness/Superficial Charm
Language can be used without effort by them to confuse and convince their audience. Captivating storytellers that exude self-confidence, they can spin a web that intrigues others. Since they are persuasive, they have the capacity to destroy their critics verbally or emotionally.

Manipulative and Conning
They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors permissible. They appear to be charming, yet are covertly hostile and domineering, seeing their victim as merely an instrument to be used. They dominate and humiliate their victims.

Grandiose Sense of Self
Feels entitled to certain things as "their right." Craves adulation and attendance. Must be the center of attention with their own fantasies as the "spokesman for God," "enlightened," "leader of humankind," etc. Creates an us-versus-them mentality

Pathological Lying
Has no problem lying coolly and easily and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis. Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities. Extremely convincing and able to pass lie detector tests.

Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt
A deep seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities. Instead of friends, they have victims and accomplices who end up as victims. The end always justifies the means and they let nothing stand in their way.

Shallow Emotions
When they show what seems to be warmth, joy, love and compassion, it is more feigned than experienced and serves an ulterior motive. Outraged by insignificant matters, yet remaining unmoved and cold by what would upset a normal person. Since they are not genuine, neither are their promises.

Incapacity for Love
While they talk about "God's love" they are unable to give or receive it. Since they do not believe in the genuineness of their followers' love, they are very harsh in testing it from their devotees and expect them to feel guilt for their failings. Expects unconditional surrender.

Need for Stimulation
Living on the edge, yet testing the beliefs of their followers with bizarre rules, punishments and behaviors. Verbal outbursts and physical punishments are normal.

Callousness/Lack of Empathy
Unable to empathize with the pain of their victims, having only contempt for others' feelings of distress and readily taking advantage of them. Their skills are used to exploit, abuse and exert power. Since the follower cannot believe their leader would callously hurt them, they rationalize the behavior as necessary for their (or the group's) own "good" and deny the abuse. When devotees become aware of the exploitation it feels like a "spiritual rape" to them.

Poor Behavioral Controls/Impulsive Nature
Rage and abuse, alternating with small expressions of love and approval produce an addictive cycle for abuser and abused, as well as creating hopelessness in the victim. Believe they are all-powerful, all-knowing, entitled to every wish, no sense of personal boundaries, no concern for their impact on others. The followers only see them as near perfect.

Early Behavior Problems/Juvenile Delinquency
Usually has a history of behavioral and academic difficulties, yet "gets by" by conning others. Problems in making and keeping friends; aberrant behaviors such as cruelty to people or animals, stealing, etc.

Irresponsibility/Unreliability
Not concerned about wrecking others' lives and dreams. Oblivious or indifferent to the devastation they cause. Does not accept blame themselves, but blame their followers or others outside their group. Blame reinforces passivity and obedience and produces guilt, shame, terror and conformity in the followers.

Promiscuous Sexual Behavior/Infidelity
Totalist leaders frequently practice promiscuity, child sexual abuse, rape and sexual acting out of all sorts. This is usually kept hidden from all but the inner circle. Stringent sexual control of their followers, such as forced breakups and divorces, removal of children from parents, rules for dating, etc.

Lack of Realistic Life Plan/Parasitic Lifestyle
Tends to move around a lot or makes all encompassing promises for the future. Many groups claim as their goal world-domination or other utopian promises. Great contrast between the leader's opulent lifestyle and the followers' impoverishment. Support by gifts and donations from the followers who are pressured to give through fear and guilt. Highly sensitive to their own pain and health.

Criminal or Entrepreneurial Versatility
Changes their image and that of the group as needed to avoid prosecution and to increase income and to recruit a range of members. Is able to adapt or relocate as needed to preserve the group. Can resurface later with a new name, a new front group and a new twist on the scam.

Thruth be told, the actual disease is known today as Antisocial personality disorder and it is a grouping of both sociopathic personality and psychotic personality. I guess I'm old school in my thinking and prefer to think of the two as being different. The main difference is that sociopaths have better control of themselves and there is not usually a complete cut-off from reality.

I still think it happened at his house and then he drove out to diggs. Set the tripod up while this sexual encounter was going on and bingo he has pictures. I've been watching this blog for some time and this is my first post regarding Taylor.

IMO, it seems a little unlikely that Taylor would have just gone willingly with Fawley to this rather remote location so far away from Richmond at that hour when, presumably, she had class the next day? I think she may have been abducted by him, or, it happened at his studio and he drove the body there and possibly photographed it before dumping her in the ravine (hence the missing camera/tripod). In the later scenario, he probably had help. I think it would have been difficult for Fawley to move Taylor's body by himself.

It was pointed out that BF was on a road trip to his fetish convention around the time that Julie disappeared. Did he make a pit stop in OHIO, a place where he does have connections? Someone also pointed out that Ben made ZERO blog entries/updates from around early August to late August.

I wouldn't be shocked if he was involved or if he has killed before, as I feel his profile does show a level of criminal sophistication, despite how stupid he can be.

Here's a thought:
If Ben wanted to avoid a capitol (capital?) murder charge, he could have gone to LE when it happened, and said, we were having sex and I killed her by accident. They had a sexual history, ostensibly, and BF might have gotten involuntary manslaughter and stat. rape. He might have gotten three years in jail.
IF he were thinking-he would have done that.

But he didn't-he and maybe others threw her away-. To me, LE has to see this as evidence that he feared other things coming out-like more people involved, pre-meditation, filming of the act, etc. So when he learns that the noose is tightening (apologize for the pun) he confesses to rough sex in the hope he gets involuntary. But because he's not as smart as he thinks, he doesn't see the "smoking gun" of the hastily disposed body.

Also, remember he was bruised up after his "abduction"? Taylor fought back-plain and simple. Busted, Ben-Murder 1.

Okay, I’ve been racking my brain, reading everything out there in order to find something, anything, that might bring forth some positive outcome to the people involved, damaged, and devastated by the unfair and tragic death of Taylor Behl.

This crime has affected so many people beyond the immediate family and sometimes we forget that there are untold numbers of students who now walk in fear, question their friends, their own judgment/judgments etc. There are friends of the family, teachers, the entire VCU community, and citizens in general. And then of course, there are parents, of other girls, parents just like myself.

I’ve wanted to talk to Taylor’s mother because I too am the single mother of a young VCU student. We have so much in common and at the same time, so little, yet I feel that few people could understand what it is like to live in a family where it is just the two of you…Everything, from getting the only child/daughter through the many stages of development, first boyfriends, first heart breaks, to finally getting her through High School and off to College. It is different for the single mother of an only child. It is different for the child as well.

I never had the chance to meet Taylor or her mother. Although, as it turns out they are the friends of a mutual friend of mine who asked if my, then 18 year old VCU sophomore, daughter & I might meet to discuss VCU, Richmond, the dorms, and parking at school. This was in late July and for whatever reason the meeting for lunch never came together.

When my friend Bruce called to tell me that Taylor was his friend’s daughter I somehow felt even more connected, somehow more deeply saddened than if it had just been any other girl. I wish so much that we could have had the opportunity to fill her in on our realistic take on life in a Richmond. I would have given her an earful of the tales of many a friend who lived, walked, worked, and studied in Richmond over the past 25 years.

Sadly, that chance is gone and gone forever. However, I do have the chance to speak to the young people who have befriended people who may have caused them pain, guilt, burdens that should never have been thrust upon any of them. Should never have been their cross to bear.

Please remember, friendship, love, whatever, does not involve, manipulation, control, humiliation, abuse of any kind, smothering, jealousy, pain, injury, and/or destructive behaviors. Please just walk away from anyone who subjects you to any of these acts. Know this, sometimes it comes down to simply deciding to walk away. It is a conscious decision to protect one’s self. It is never easy but really it will be simply a decision you make.

There was a tripod in Fawley's possession. We already know that from Fawley's complaint on-line of having to take pictures of himself. He possessed a tri-pod. That is probably not an object that a photographer would give up for even a short time without some good reason. Whether it went to Matthews or not, Fawley knows. Seems likely unless LE turned up a tripod when they searched his place. Taylor probably doesn't know much about night photg.

But, I don't think Taylor ever made it out of the car alive. As a person stated earlier, mightent she have gone back for her driver's license? Didn't want to disturb lovely roommate (someone from Vienna with more $$$ and clout than her parents) while she had "private time" (how sweet--dead Taylor--with her boyfriend).

But it takes less light than you seem to imagine. 2nd Assuming we are using spot lights, rather than flash, the bugs would be attracted by the lights....not the camera.
Now, let's assume that none of those nearby farm buildings had electricity. They would still be far better for hiding what you're doing than an open field/dirt road.
One CAN buy battery powered lights, yes, even flood lights. Pay more attention to camera men on the news.

I am thinking this is in some way a set up on Taylor.I keep going back to the post made on his journal about trying something else with Taylor if she would let him.Her making that phone call to Kevin to say she was going to do something highly illegal does not fit as this sex game would fall more under the lines of highly dangerous.I don't think this was the early bday present she was talking about by no means.I also wonder if the skateboarding was another lie to cover up the tracks by ben.Look on the search warrant the police took 5 skateboards and the post the next day I lost a skateboard knowing full well he took her life.How many skateboards does this guy own?? My speculation is he fed Taylor a line of bull from the start and she trusted him.Ben being hit in the stomach was probably Taylor trying to defend herself and get away from him not being hit by the tripod.I think this was premeditated and that is my opinion.It makes my blood boil to hear him say it was an accident.How ironic he confesses to some degree the day they bury her.

I think Fawley is putting out the story that he accidently killed her in Mathews county for a reason. If that were true the case would be tried in Mathews county and he thinks that venue would be an advantage. Alternatively, if the death occurred in Richmond then the trial would be conducted there. Also one could deduce that a death in one city and a disposal of a body in another different city would possibly be considered premeditated. I think Fawley story is a lie. If he killed her with rough sex in the car (which is hard to believe in such a small car) only a few yards from where he dumped her, why would he put her in a plastic bag? It makes more sense to use a plastic bag on her if she is killed her in Richmond and the body transported to Mathews and dumped.

Just get yourselves ready for the nastiness of the trail when this goes to trail. Ben's lawyers will try trashing Taylor's character. The way they trashed the girl in the Preppy Murder trial.
Our system of justice is so rotten. That predators like this get off in 15 years for murder. The Preppy Killer got out 2 years ago after serving 15 years. I hope Va. does better in finding justice for Taylor. Give Ben death or life imprisonment without parole. He knew what he was doing and it was no "accident". There are no "accidents" in cases like this. All his actions after the fact show he knew he was guilty of a terrible crime.

Speculating is all good and well, but until you've spent a night stranded in the middle of nowhere with one of these types, wondering if you are ever going to see the sunlight, you really don't know shit about how a sociopathic/ psychopathic mind works. As if that wasn't enough, you are normally the picture of physical fitness, but a severe back injury has left you vulnerable... unable to run away, unable to protect your wife...who is also with you and seems to be of growing interest to the monster who holds you captive.

You know he has a gun in his car, because it's in plain view...as is the knife on his belt. You endure the psychotic comments about what he could do to both you and especially your wife with a smile, hoping to mask your fear because you know fear is a sign of weakness.. and ANIMALS FEED OFF OF FEAR.

From then on it's one big mind game after the next and becomes a test of your will verses his, an endurance test unlike any you ever dreamed possible. Knowing that if you could just make it until sunrise, you and your wife might stand a chance.

Taylor never had a chance if the monster she came face to face with was anything like the one my wife and I faced 8 years ago.

Though no one is to blame for this terrible crime but Ben Fawley there are a few contributing factors that should be mentioned.
Richmond is a short drive from Vienna,Va. but it is a much more dangerous place. More warped and twisted people one of whom is Ben Fawley. The original wolf in sheep's clothing.
VCU may be a great and wonderful college and institution but what do they really do to protect incoming freshman girls like Taylor who was only 17 years old?
Co ed dorms are a terrible idea. Whoever dreamed that idea up must have been a empty headed woman. Having boys and men in girls dorm rooms is a crazy idea. Long ago in the dark ages colleges had single sex dorms with curfews for the young women. 730pm on week nights and 11pm on the weekends. Whatever happened to that.
Was it womens lib? Was it the general permissiveness that had run amok all over the USA.
I now note that many of these same mothers who support these new "ideas" are checking on their daughters more closely after this reality wake up call.
Young women of 17 or 18 away from home for the first time need guidance and restrictions and protection. VCU did not protect this young girl. She is a girl not a woman. 17 is really still just a child and children need protection not permissiveness.
