The National Geographic article said that ducks are especially harmful, since they can come down with avian flu and appear healthy. Scary thought! I didn't know the flu had traveled outside East Asia, either!

I believe the feds know this thing is on the way at any time now.

i thought the birds dead in turkey were also ducks. that's what was shown in footage on the BBC. and that is what the concern has been here in europe.

Well, I just believe the govts in the major countries of the world are worried sick and probably know this thing is on its way as we speak. There's suddenly just been too much press about it and the spreading has begun among the bird/duck population. I'm thinking the final mutation necessary to take this the step up to human/human transmission may have actually already started. I just remember how China made it really hard to find out what was going on with their SARS cases. Hope that doesn't happen again or we're all toast, I'd say!
