Despite the feelings of some that I might be dying for publicity - I can assure you it isn't the case. What I struggle with most is keeping the many fine readers I have enjoyed over the last few months - informed, entertained and many of you around and coming back.
At some point much later today www.riehlworldview.com will pass the 4 Million viewer mark and approach 8 million page views - the overwhelming majority of whom are somewhat new to web logs and have come here in the last few months as a result of my Natalee Holloway coverage. That's an issue and a story I have no intention of dropping.
I simply wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your time, in some cases your trust and tell you all that I very much appreciate your readership and support.

The pleasure and honor is ours.
Thank you Dan.

Hi Dan,
Congratulations on what appears to be a huge accomplishment.
I am one of those individuals new to your blog and new to this aspect of the internet world. Heretofore I would get most of my information from the cable channels, matt drudge and some talk radio, John Batchelor, in particular.
Recently, I have been visitng may sites about this siuation and I was horrified to find that someone on one of the blogs, because they did not agree with the specified collective sentiment had personal information taken from their computer and posted on the web. The poster was extremely upset and afraid. It occured to me to ask you if this could happen to the posters here and on such other sites as Scared Monkeys? You will agree that noone wants to feel afraid or threatened simply because they have an opinion.
I read the post of the person and they were pro the facts in this case. They commented that "the suspect would be released largely based upon the fact that there was no evidence which would hold up in a court of law anywhere". Apparently, they were implying that they were being attacked by the camp of the missing person and they actually were fearful for their safety.
Since I am your average person, not so computer savy, not familiar until now with such things as "ip addresses" which I still do not really understand; I figured that I would ask you about these kinds of things in an email. Unfortunately, I have been unable to do so because when I click on the link that says "e mail" for you, unlike with everyone else, nothing happens, no address, no contact page, no nothing. I have come to realize that most people address you within the "threads".
Anyway, I guess this is my long winded request for a little education as I and I'm sure the many others who have come here in recent months don't want any problems and certainly don't want to worry about personal safety because of a comment made on a computer.
The distinguishing thing about your site is that you seem to attract literate, thinking, pleasant and highly educated people. I'm not just talking about "degrees", we all have those. I'm talking about individuals who have learned how to think, can express a thoughtful logical opinion and walk you through it and are quite current in their worldwide view. This is a tribute to you as your thoughtS and writing are excellent and it is obvious that you put forth the information here in a dedicated, researched, substantiated manner with a lot of "heart".
I thank you and I am looking forward to your comments about my queries and all future storie sand opinions. Any and all education about the internet and its pitfalls would be greatly welcomed.
Thanks again.

Dan, Many thanks to you for providing us with this site to share our thoughts and opinions. I do hope that you continue with Natalee. I know there is much sadness in the world right now from the hurricane and bigger stories than Natalee, but I found this site because of her and I know there are a lot of people that come here to help keep her story alive. Hope For Natalee. Thanks again for everything you do.

Dan,
I only came here in search of information on Natalee. Although I am tempted, I will refrain from posting in other subject areas. I got very caught up with Natalee's story (no doubt, a little TOO much). For the most part, I enjoyed the banter, but it seemed to have gotten out of hand at times. That said, I will continue to check in on any progress in Natalee's story. Thank you for your blog and I wish you continued success.

You go, Dan!
I found this blog because of the NH case, but have come to enjoy many the many other topics and musings as well. You have worked hard for this, and I am sure many like me will remain loyal readers.
PS. Anytime you'd like to join us for a virtual tomato fight, (You can even see the tomato and hear the splat) the invite always stands and you know where to find us. :)
PPS. We could even put up pictures of certain other conservative pundits as targets if you like :)

"Despite the feelings of some that I might be dying for publicity - I can assure you it isn't the case. What I struggle with most is keeping the many fine readers I have enjoyed over the last few "
Dan I found this webblog because I was interested in NH, I found you blog certainly well informed and entertaining. I was skeptical earlier on that you were only doing it for publicity, but after reading you views on the blogs and also reading other news, I do find that you do care, UNLIKE FOX NEWS, WHO WERE USING NH JUST FOR PUBLICITY AND RAISE MORE VIEWERS, BECAUSE HONESTLY THEY DONOT CARE ABOUT NH ONE WAY OR THE OTHER.
keep up the good work.

Dan,
I am one of the newbie bloggers who got hooked by the tragic Natalee Holloway story and your great coverage of it. As you well know, many of the breaking news items surrounding that story were/are either broken by you or discussed on your blog well in advance of breaking on the main stream media (which by the way is becoming less main stream every day). Keep up the great work.
p.s. It is amazing and heartening to me the continued interest in the Natalee Holloway story. It continues to receive many more posts than other stories (Katrina) which you would think have wider-spread appeal. Not sure what it is about NH that strikes such a chord. Perhaps it is different things for different people.
p.p.s. Your situation with Michelle Malkin seems a bit petty to me but i haven't delved into it in any great detail. I think a lot of folks here appreciate what you both do and just ask, "[C]an't we all just get along?"

Dan,
I have been mostly lurking since early June and like most people, horrified over the whole fiasco in Aruba.
You have provided an amazing source of info and discussion for us.
Thanks!

I found this because of Natalee's story but found posting and following RVW to be very informative. Look here for news before elsewhere. I also looks at other blogs but found them not to be as user friendly....so this is my favorite.

Dan:
Thank you for providing this forum to voice our concerns over Natalee Holloway. I can only pray that some of the posters have provided good information and ideas.

Dan,
Because of your site, I have entered the blogoshpere for the first time. It's a great outlet for people's outrage. I really think you could get some memeber of the family, maybe Natalee's aunt to come on. In the end, when there is resolution, this will be remembered at a seminal moment for you, for blogs in general. I've begun raising money for this case and will be a loyal visitor for this site.
Thanks for all your hard work.

Dan,
As an addendum to my first message. When the chat get to the point that it is 700 plus message...how do you get to the last message from the top?
Do you have to scroll through everything that you have already read? or...is their a secret way to immediately get to the last message posted?
thanks again.

YOU GO DAN! AND I FOR ONE WILL BE HERE WHEN YOU MAKE IT TO 5 MILLION, AND 6, AND 7, AND THEN ON...
I GOT HOOKED HERE DURING THE BEGINING OF THE NH TRAGEDY AND HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO PULL MYSELF AWAY. YOU DO A GREAT JOB OF KEEPING US INFORMED WAY BEFORE THE TV REPORTS AND NEWSPAPERS AND I RESPECT YOUR VIEWS AND YOUR PERSONAL ETHICS, FOR EXAMPLE THE EMAIL BETWEEN YOU AND JORAN BACK IN JUNE. HE ASKED THAT YOU REMOVE HIS PIC AND YOU DID, OUT OF RESPECT FOR HIM. WAY TO GO DAN!
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND CONGRATS! :0)

Dan,
Quite honestly, I don't know how you do it all and remain sane---the keeping up with your normal day to day life, and now the popularity explosion of your blog and the extra work it entails, not to mention, all of the extra BS that comes along because there are those who are just plain jealous of your blog's popularity and readership growth.
And still, you do something which I think few are even aware of and has earned you MY respect---you take the time "behind the scenes" to show genuine caring and compassion for your readers.
You worked hard to give us the most accurate information that you could and I have seen you "sit" on info in order to protect the ones involved in that info. "Dying for publicity"? I don't think so...
As the "green-eyed monsters" raise their ugly heads, Dan, please know that there is no need to defend yourself to YOUR readers.

Dan,
Congratulations on your successful blog!
Like many hundreds here I started reading from the beginning. I found your blog on Natalee Halloway from a reader who linked your blog in a news discussen forum. I check in every day whenever I get a chance between work and days off. I must admit it takes hours and hours to catch up on my reading if I miss just one day. So I can't even imagine how you manage to work fulltime and devote countless hours to your blog. I'm just glad that you do!
You always have the latest breaking news, and give us a chance to brainstorm our thoughts and ideas. We have all shared some sorrow and laughter here together in our own little cyber world.
I for one never knew about blogs before, but it's amazing how now I can't live without them. Especially yours Dan!
Thank you so much!

Dan:
Just for confirmation - this is my first blog, I have been hooked on it daily for hours. I did not post at all until a couple of days ago, but I have been captivated by reading peoples' contributions and yours of course. The Natalee Holloway story is a great tragedy, and I thank you for your coverage of it. Also, I greatly appreciate your balanced contributions concerning other topics such as hurricane Katrina. Though I am not part of the closeknit groups of people here because I have chosen to "lurk" rather than contribute, I can see the friendships which have developed, and the concern among the posters for Natallee's family and for the victims of the hurricane. I am also so impressed that your blog has no advertising links. Keep up the good work! You're the best!

Dan,
I have been enjoying your blog for the last three months. As a lot of people have stated, it started with the Natalee Holloway case and has grown to much more.
In the evenings when I get home from work, I have always grabbed a cup of coffee and turned on cable news to catch up for the day. Now, my first stop is to turn on my computer, grab a cup of coffee and open this site to catch up on the day.
GREAT JOB!

I have lurked here since week 2 of Natalee's disappearance and check in several times a day because of your accuracy and sensitivity in reporting events. Keep up the good work!
