Okay, maybe they aren't for everyone, I've heard some say as much. But, by and large, I think their stuff is terrifically funny - sort of Monty Python Meets Hunter S. Thompson after they received their PhD's in English Literature, then Chip and company went to Tijuana for an all night Tequila binge ... or something like that. They're a decadently erudite group? Person? Who the hell knows? They just The Hatemongers Quarterly, I guess.

Your MP + HST + Eng Lit PhD + (BIG)Tequila binge formula works for me! 'Sharia not kosher in Canada?' - OMG
I'd been wondering what kind of reaction this story would get, but this is better than I expected.

>In addition, as many undoubtedly recognize, Canada is the epicenter of the multicultural movement.

They're amusing. They're warped. They generally see things my way. I like that in a person.

Thanks, Mr. Riehl, for your kind words about our humble "weblog." We are delighted to get the thumbs up from such a "weblogging" eminence.
As to "callmeBetty's" point, we must respectfully disagree. Canada was pushing multiculturalism years before we in the US of A were. And the Canucks have been a prime influence on American multiculturalists. To be sure, the intellectual impetus for multiculturalism is largely the work of continental theorists of the 1960s. But Canada has been a beacon of putting multiculturalism into practice.
Still, "callmeBetty" is right: Canada does have bad beer.

OK, so my knowledge of Canadian politics is limited to the opinions of my Polish and FrenchCanadian in-laws in Victoria, BC. You guys may have begun the discussion, but we in LA, CA live it daily. Take the ferry over from Vancouver and it's still a VERY white world up there. But Granny's right - You're warped. In a good way.
But WHAT is up with Celene Dion and that creepy, cradle robbing old man she married? Eeuuuwww.
