In breaking news as regards the disappearance of Taylor Behl, a few specific facts have emerged. It appears prosecutors believe that the child pornography found in Fawley's possession is real, meaning actual children were used to produce the films, as opposed to digital grahics of some kind.
The Virginia Attorney General's office is working with Richmond authorities on the case. Deputy Attorney General Richard Campbell tells us he believes real children ages 1 through 14 were used to make the sex movies allegedly found in Fawley's home.
"In a case of a person who's skilled in photography it's likely you're going to be dealing with real images- there's no need to morph images," Campbell said.
Additionally, it seems previous attorney Chris Collins is back in the picture and the Public Defender has stepped away from the case.
The public defender representing Ben Fawley has stepped away from the case. The attorney Chris Collins originally retained to handle media inquiries regarding Fawley's relationship with 17-year-old Taylor Behl, will now defend him against 16 counts of possession of child pornography.
I started thinking about another interesting and possible pertinant fact as regards Fawley in reviewing a post today at Steve Huff's temporary home away from blog while his server gets squared away.
We know there were many items found in Fawley's garbage from the search warrants found here. Those items included videotapes, clothes, a watch, a hammer axe, a beaded necklace, and more. But if you read this previous report of mine, you'll see that Fawley supplemented his income by cleaning out the homes of estates - selling basically everything he could.
Obviously, there could be an explanation for so many items in the trash - outside of what you might anticipate. But it also seems strange to me that in the middle of this investigation, an admitted pack rat from another post of his, who sold every little item he could clean up from the dead, suddenly had an urge to apparently "clean house."
It's an observation, anyway. Steve Huff has a post up which deals with a stain on the box spring being analyzed. I was under the impression it was from a sheet or mattress - but haven't had time to look into that just yet.

Dan,
Thank again for your probing observations
"But it also seems strange to me that in the middle of this investigation, an admitted pack rat from another post of his, who sold every little item he could clean up from the dead, suddenly had an urge to apparently "clean house."
I did think that was very interesting as well...
And the police certainly know that's one of the best places to look first. Usually we throw out evidence of our "misdeeds" (cookie crumbs on counter so mom won't see) just before someone who might take notice comes over!
I just find it interesting what the police thought might be of interest. But of course it needs to be examined, especially for fingerprints and DNA and hair / fiber connections.
However, some of these I wouldn't expect a person like BF would just throw away. He has mentioned before how he can use all sorts of things that others consider junk.
Here's what was found outside:
----------
video tapes
bags of clothes
Beaded necklace different "supercan outside"
watch in different "supercan outside"
Also collected outside and in garbage can
Photos
documents
checkbook
Rx bottle -empty
hatchet / hammer
prybar
white shirt
3 pair underware
The FBI lab certainly has their hands full here!

Yea, that's the funny thing. When you look at the list of stuff the police took from Fawley's place, it looks sinister, yet the guy is a self-proclaimed "artist" so lots of that really could be props. Or, at least he can say that's what they were for.

okay... how many of you would just throw evidence of a crime you committed out with the morning trash??? I wouldn't (not that I would commit a crime, of course). I would take it and put it on someone elses curb, or in the dumpster of a large apartment building across the street.
If he threw out evidence of Taylor's murder, knowing he was a suspect, he is one of the dumbest criminals EVER!!!
...But, what if someone else put them in his dumpster?

As someone who met BF before, I know he, as a pakrat, occasionally had to get rid of things when he was getting too clutterd. besides, i would think that he wouldd want to eliminate as much as possible if he thought there was a posssibility of going to jail so it wolud be more likely he could get someone to help him put the things away while he was there

"dumbest criminals EVER!!! "
You are implying there are "smart" ones.
I guess that depends on your definition... "criminal"
Many of us who think we are doing fairly well in the "smart" are do some dumb things.
Many of us would not realize what capabilities the crime lab has for recovering microscopic evidence.
Sometimes, the very act of trying to "get rid of something" creats the link that is needed for proof we had it!

I dunno but sometimes people like Fawley (with untreated bi-polar disorder) think manic thoughts that tell them they are smarter than everyone else; thus, they keep evidence around or throw it away in the trash to be checked out by LE because they assume (for example) no one would leave evidence around or throw in trash - be too stupid - so they're covered. It's just the kind of weird "logic" the manic part of bi-polar disorder can produce. Take it from me - I have the illness myself and the mania can make you the dumbest, most obvious person on the planet while you think you're sooooo smart.
Dan says he thinks this dude may be arrested for murder soon. The only way that happens if LE found some real evidence - ie. the box springs have Taylor's blood on it.

I live in Richmond and I heard on WRVA (am 1140) today that the police are searching a lake in Louisa County. I heard that earlier today, then I didn't hear any more about it. Maybe they mentioned then realized they shouldn't have. Can anyone else confirm this. Dan?

Interesting about attorney Chris Collins coming back after removing himself last week. Any thoughts on why he backed out and why he's back?
