Dan,
I think it is simply ridiculous that you are being ridiculed for speaking your mind and sharing the news... so you put a link in your blog, since when did that become grounds as a publicity stunt? I read your blog every day for the news. I think it is more useful than most news websites. It’s honest, informative, and broad. I can get all the info I need/want in one entry and not have to go through a million different links. I think you are doing a wonderful job with this and kudos to you for getting some publicity. Clearly your and educated man who deserves a little bit of recognition for your efforts to relay some truth. As a college graduated with a degree in political science, I feel that you offer a wide variety of different views on specific topics that can be useful to all readers. Keep up the good work and congrats on your “spot”. We’ll be rooting for ya!

Ok, I live on the North shore of NOLA (Mandeville), and I have to say, and maybe this is denial, but I am shocked at the "rumor" that Nagin put 400 tourist at the front of the bus line when the rescue finally came. Say it ain't so!!! When he came into office it apeared that he was a "kick butt, take names later" kind of guy. It sure seems/seemed like a breath of fresh air for the otherwise corrupt, business as usual NOLA buaracracy. I wonder if he just bit off far more that he could chew. I really thought he was doing a great job. By the way, they activated Contraflow out of the city and state on Saturday night. The problem, perhaps, was that Nagin did not call for a mandatory evacuation until forced to on Sunday mid-morning. I think last year when we evacuated for Ivan, and then nothing happend, he got a little gun shy. I think he may be doing the best he can with what he has. I say, let's stop pointing the finger and just get all these people the help they need. By the way, due to the Katrina situation and having to evacuate myself, and by the way I am still displaced, but house ok, just no power, sewage an issue, etc..., I am way behind on the Holloway situation. I have followed this from the start, and would like to know if it is true that the boys were all released. Can someone get me up to speed??? Thanks so much.

ALRIGHT... Dan's the man! I wouldn't miss it!!

Anne096: I would like to know why Nagin did not arrange evacuation for the nursing homes and hospitals in advance and why he did not have any shelter in New Orleans stocked with water and food supplies. Do you remember that Rudy had zero prior notice to evacuate NYC. Do you remember Rudy with a bullhorn taking control and giving people a safe feeling by his Control over the situation. You know know what the city buses were used for after the storm as the city slowly filled with water. They had a day and half to use all the parish school buses to either get people out or move supplies to the chosen shelters. Give me break. Nagin should hide his face in shame. Now he sends his first responders to Las Vegas to relieve the stress. Thats odd , I thought a trip to beach or mountains might relieve stress but Vegas! Is that with the sudden overflow of funds that are pouring in to the New Orleans coffers now. Odd that FDNY are on the scene there today and yet you have NOLA police who need an all expense week in Vegas with family members because of the extreme stress. I would say get them out, send them to Club Med even but this is a disgrace and I am a former Louisiana resident. This has been a disgrace to most of the nation if not the world. Nagin was the leader of that city and now he wants the national guard to forceably remove residents. Why doesn't he step down now.

Kasey: Pull that stick out of your ass. The trackback above wasn't to ridicule, it was friendly teasing--which you would know if you had been around this site for longer than the Natalee Holloway story.
Sierra Tango Foxtrot Uniform, Chief. Over and out.

Anchor - if you know how to do it you might try changing the player associated with MU3 files to the windows player. That's what I had to do. Right click properties I think - change "always open with" to another application like Windows Media Player.
