Where are all the news cameras now? They certainly seemed to almost enjoy showing us the devastation in downtown New Orleans.
CREOLE, La. (AP) - Hurricane Rita's path of devastation along the Texas-Louisiana coast became shockingly clear Monday, as rescuers pulled stranded bayou residents out on skiffs and Army helicopters searched for thousands of cattle feared drowned.
Crews struggled to clean up the tangle of smashed homes and downed trees. The hurricane slammed low-lying fishing villages, shrimping ports and ranches with water up to 9 feet deep. Seawater pushed as far as 20 miles inland, drowning acres of rice, sugarcane fields and pasture.
In coastal Terrebonne Parish, the count of severely damaged or destroyed homes stood at nearly 9,900. An estimated 80 percent of the buildings in the town of Cameron, population 1,900, were leveled. Farther inland, half of Creole, population 1,500, was left in splinters.
"I would use the word destroyed," Army Lt. Gen. Russel Honore said of Cameron. "Cameron and Creole have been destroyed except for the courthouse, which was built on stilts on higher ground. Most of the houses and public buildings no longer exist or are even in the same location that they were."

I did see a few views of Creole on CNN tonight, but they sure seem to be slow with images from the most recent devestation. All depends on the agenda, I guess.
Dan is doing so much work on this blog. I can't keep up. There are not enough hours available in the day. GREAT WORK!!!

My sentiments, exactly!

Beside what Dan posts here, the only other news on the destruction I have found, is on the Christian broadcasting networks. Not enough death and destruction for the MSM viewers is my guess.

I saw the helicopter's zoom in on two women in N.O. today.... They had no idea they were being "zoomed" in on their personal trauma....
I must add a light note here... was that lady gonna pick up the water bottle she 'flipped' onto the ground?

Where are they?
Weather of Mass Destruction. I have satellite tv so I have to watch Animal Planet or something to get a break from hurricane coverage.

Cindi - my thoughts exactly! I guess the MSM doesn't think cows swimming around and sugarcane covered with water is as good for ratings as thousands of people yelling and screaming about how they were left behind on purpose. I'm as sorry for the people who have been affected by Rita as I am about all of the people affected by Katrina. Loss is still loss - horrible.

Expendable population to the MSM. Lower and Middle class who are not looting but are weeping. No extreme rioting, only picking up the pieces. "Who cares" attitude from MSM and lets not forget, "the squeeky wheel gets the oil". I agree with Cindy in pa...CBN has some real people coverage.
