» A Little More About Skulz and Violence from The Dark Side
As I wrote in this entry, I am still not convinced that Ben "Skulz" Fawley had anything to do with the disappearance of Virginia Commonwealth University freshman Taylor Behl. Yes, Fawley is 38, unstable, and attracted to very young... [Read More]

I think in the aunt's suspicion that the police broke in is highly unlikely.

The police would have had no trouble getting a warrent for their basement since the dogs lead them right there. There was no reason to break in.

I think the nephew or his roommate did it to deflect attention away from themselves.

But no, with such compelling justification, any judge would have granted a search warrent immediately. No need to break in. It's a red herring meant to misdirect us away from Taylor.

How does the tan Ultima fit into this? Who's car do they think it is?

I saw the interview with the mom and she mentioned that the original car was found by another male's residence, not the 38 yr old guy. So maybe it was his?

I find this lead far more interesting than the Skulz lead. The break-ins are interesting, too. I don't think law enforcement did that.

Actually, when they found her car, they were able to use the tracking dogs to pick up her scent.

They also picked up the scent of another individual, who they tracked to to a house. His aunt/uncle at the home had said he was staying with them around the time she disappeared.

The brought the individual in to the police station and said he "did not fair well" on a polygraph test...

This is not the 38 year old, but another individual...

Wow, the amount of information that we are getting regarding the ongoing investigation really underscores the difference between reporting in the US LE system and the Aruban LE system. People aren't jumping to conclusions about suspects, b/c we can follow the trail that the police are laying out with our own eyes and see that they are really digging for this child. Thanks for keeping us well-informed Dan, appreciate it.

Hey usmcmom! Good to see you on the board! With all due respect to you, I must disagree with you on one point: This Ben Fawley/Skulz individual has really taken some heat, big time! (This is not to say he doesn't deserve it, though.)

But for the rest I totally agree with you and I do hope that the Netherlands and especially the Aruban LE is watching and taking good notes.

I feel as though a lot of folks are really demonstrating--interagency communication and participation--as well as keeping the public informed is how to get a case solved.

I so desperately want this to come out right: If for no other reason, Natalee's situation benefitted an entire nation. I believe that the coverage Taylor is getting is a direct result of how Nat's case was abhorrantly handled.

Is it me or does this young lady seem to be "fly paper" for the dregs of society?

I mean we all are familiar with Ben Fawly now...
Then this other young man whose roommate was apparently arrested on charges from out of state...

It seems every time there is some sort of lead in this case to some guy this girl is associated with, he is older, a shady character or has a criminal past!

Part of me thinks this could be a Patty Hearst type of situation and the other part of me thinks this girl simply went to the "Risk" well once too often and paid the ultimate price.

I think we all have friends with pasts, they just don't usually come out all at once and so publically until the police come investigating.

That being said, she probably was attracted to "bad" boys. A lot of girls are at that age. She wouldn't be the first young woman entranced by 'dark' characters (think early Johnny Depp).

She's at the stage in life where we explore who we are and test pushing the envelope. I'd hardly call her flypaper for the dregs of society and I doubt many here would stand up to such scrutiny and come out squeeky clean.

Serving time for auto-theft, arrests for cocaine, arrests for suspicion of child porn, assault charges, burglary and breaking and entering, etc...All these charges have been or are being applied against people she has been associated with during her time spent at VCU!

I did not submit that post to elicit an argument over the logistics of what constitutes a "dreg" of society, nor am I going to argue whether or not many here have been guilty of or suspected of any of the charges above, that would be insane.

My very simple point was to say that this girl was lost and yes may have been attracted to the seemingly dangerous lives of some of the people she met just prior to and immediately after leaving home to be on her own!

Does anyone know who this other person of interest is, the one that didn't fair well on the polygraph?

I read he passed all but 2 questions.

The Times-Dispatch obtained more information regarding the young man arrested for drug possession following the execution of a search warrant of his apartment. 22-year old Jesse Schultz's apartment is located just blocks from where Taylor's car was discovered on Saturday. Schultz underwent intense questioning by police, and later admitted to failing two questions on a polygraph. Schultz is the owner of the tan Nissan Altima that the police issued an all points bulletin for on Monday. The police interest in the car arose because they believe that Taylor had been in the car just prior to her disappearance. On Tuesday, 09/20/2005, new reports indicate that the task force formed to find the missing 17-year old college student, Taylor Behl, issued a BOLO (Be On The Look Out) for a tan colored 4-door Nissan Altima bearing VA plates JTE-6886. The BOLO was issued following a tip that Taylor was seen inside of the car sometime before she disappeared. Shortly after issuing the BOLO, and before it could be reported in the news, the police recovered and impounded the vehicle. Forensic teams are examining the car for any evidence to support the report that Taylor was seen in the car shortly before her disappearance.

Who originally owned the stolen Ohio license plates? Anyone know? And, when were they reported stolen and from where?

I was reading up on the Taylor Behl case and found something's to be really interesting.
The fact that Ben fawley claimed he was blind folded and beat, and couldn't identify any of the people in this attack (good reason to cover up the scratches and bruises he has on his body) and now I read he's stating that he had sex with Taylor that night she disappeared as well?? ..Im assuming maybe he raped her and now is saying he had sex with her to cover that up as well...If the police do find her body, she will probably have semen in her and, Ben would need to cover his ass for that somehow correct??I have been around my fair share of liars and this guy seems to be lying through his teeth.

As for this skateboarder kid who failed a lie detector test about knowing Taylor, that's funny too, didnt someone say they saw those together a couple days earlier?? im starting to maybe think both these guys had something to do with it. Police are saying they have no person of interest?? These cops are incredibly stupid because I honestly believe one of these guys had something to do with her disappearance and I don't believe Taylor is alive either because I haven't seen many cases where the girl actually gets broughten back alive after 3-4 weeks, just doesn't happen, if Taylor was alive she would probably have seen the person who kidnapped her and would tell police, therefore, that is why the kidnappers probably did not let her live. Now I don't if all this information I heard is correct, but if im missing out on anything please let me know.

The police are not incredibly stupid. They are NOT telling us, you, the press, or the suspect everything they know or think, or are planning. To think so would be incredibly stupid.

COSMICMOJO: and you would know that how??? The cops know nothing, thats why they have no people of interest, you tell me when the last kidnapping case that police have looked into actually cracked?? Ya... none.

I have watched the news repeatedly about kidnappings, not one that i seen has gotten solved. And Shasta Groene case doesnt count, because it wasnt the police who solved it. I am saddened beyond belief of how this world is ending up everyday. I see something new on the news all the time about some girl getting kidnapped and yes, police are trying their hardest but nothing ever comes of it. They just let people go. Im telling you these two guys in the Taylor case should always be a suspect until they find Taylor. I didnt mean to come on here and stir up a frenzie but i just dont get what the hell is going on with this world. MAKE those guys take a polygraph test, even a couple times if they have to, but something has got to be done. All these guys are going to do is denie it. And, thats why the police let them go! That poor girl, there are just more and more guys out there that want to kidnap a girl, rape them and murder them and it just boggles my mind why this is happening. Sick sick i tell ya.

A lot come home--not enough, of course.
Elizabeth Smart comes to mind--she came home.
There are others, but it's hard to recall names out of the blue.

If you knew how hard police work, the long hours, time away from their family. How much they care, how every case eats away at them, you wouldn't blithly call them stupid. They're working 20 hours a day, missing meals, skipping sleep, while we're sitting here surfing the internet. Let's appreciate their sacrifices, not call them names.

Ok you have a point, i guess i never looked at it that way. I just get really disturbed about all these cases that never seem to go anywhere, i dont think policemen are stupid, i think the fact that no cases seem to get solved is. I sure hope they find taylor and i hope they find whoever did this to her!

..... Well im happy they found taylor.. may she rest in peace. this is horrible and i am really really disturbed and sad.. i hope they charge they guys for what they did.
