No let's not let it go!!!!! Bush and his clan members need to be shamed around the world until Americans wake up and no longer let this moron you call a president have a free ride. He needs to be accountable and take the woolen white sheet off his head the one that he has pulled over the eyes of America. What sort of country is this that willingly allows it citizens to die. So he can kill more innocent people in the name of oil. NO LET'S NOT LET GO!!!!!!!
This is another Holocaust also watched around the world and not acted upon. Let us not ever forget what is perpetuated again and again in daily life upon our African American brothers and sisters. Kayne West is a voice that shouts to the world of the injustice of America led by it's leading idiot and paid up clan member....bush. STOP HIS BROTHER NOW!!!!!

I don't hear anyone crying foul about the elderly citizens of all colors that were left to fend for themselves in New Orleans. To abandon our elderly while others escaped in their S.U.V's is a disgrace.

Given the situation it was/is inevitable that people will be passionate about what they see. This young man, this rapper, sees a city of abandoned people who look like him and they are being left to rot because the governor and the Feds decide to let those people rot rather than face the lawlessness brought on by disaster and desperation.
To be a public official and say that we will NOT be coming in to save you because people who look like you are making the rescue dangerous? THAT'S the basis for the charge of racism. Young angry people trapped in an unimaginable hellhole are going to act like hoodlums the world over.

BUT we are willing to let hundreds more die because the State deems it too dangerous to attempt rescue? That will go down as one of the most transparently class-based decisions since the people in steerage on the Titanic got locked in.

All the people on these blogs jumping all over this young man, this rapper I never heard of, because he had the GALL to watch tv and be emotionally affected by the tragedy and lack of response (AFTER the hurricane). He had the GALL to suggest that the President didn't care about black people after seeing thousands of black people being left to stew because the environment was supposedly too unsafe for our National Guard to police?

Christ, even if you think him wrong it is astonishing to see all the energy put into condemning this young man for his emotional words at an emotional time. Thousands of your people are OBVIOUSLY being ignored but don't you dare be Uppity and express anger at the government? People writing here and elsewhere seem almost delighted that some cheeky nig*er
has given them the excuse they've been waiting for; to condemn the innocent because of what they look like and argue that they brought much of this on themselves.

The amount of column space in this blog and others devoted to the nerve of this Boy saying OUR President doesn't care...
I always thought caring was related to what you DO, not what you say. And by that measure it seems shallow and mean-spirited to focus on the justifible anger of this young man and start spewing venom about what should be done to him and others 'like' him.

I stopped most of my bitching about the lack of response because it was said by many here that we should all focus on the recovery and not lay blame. Now I see many of those same people falling all over themselves to gripe about this young man and his reaction RATHER than focusing on the work on hand that was CLAIMED to be more important.

White folk do get very itchy when the subject of Racism comes up. Let's just push it under the bed and hope it goes away, and scream Bloody Murder if some ungrateful rapper isn't touching his cowlick for us no matter what is happening to the people who look like him.

It's disturbing how many of the same people yelling (ALL CAPS) about not blaming the President, who had ample opportunity to show more compassionate leadership than he did, would be chompimg at the bit to lay blame on a young man naturally angry at the Horror we all can see.

Idiotic minds will think idiotic thoughts. You have been exposed for what you really are. The world see it. It's so obvious!!!! . Honesty is not your best friend. Take care of ALL Americans. BLACK AND WHITE young men and women are fighting TOGETHER and dieing TOGETHER in the name of the U.S.A as I speak. Still you chicken hawks wont give it a rest. If you really have a veracious appetite for violence please, please, join our men in women in Sunni Triangle and really express yourself. Otherwise. JUST SHUT UP. Take care. peace!

This isn’t about politics, it’s about humanity…and looking from over here (Australia) it sure looks like that’s one thing a lot of American bible bashing white folks have very little of when it comes to anybody who is of a different opinion, race or culture. It was disturbing in Iraq, and it’s totally disgusting now in New Orleans. These people were left behind like so much trash, and nobody put their hand up to get them out in a hurry…because nobody wants a bunch of underprivileged coloured people camping on their nicely manicured front lawn. It’s the same attitude that has people make smart-ass remarks about ‘who is this guy anyway’ in this very column. It doesn't really matter 'who' he is...what matters is the reality he was prepared to speak up about. And oh dear "he deviated from the script" of white-wash that they feed to the masses. Well this time, the real story got out...once again ignorance and arrogance in America has reared its ugly head for all the world to see. Do yourself a favour people: Read the news from an international perspective sometimes and catch up on what the world really
thinks of the US...Yes, your president seriously sucks…but then, that’s not surprising…cause people like you voted for him!

Uh, David, I agree with most of what you write but it's generally those who are most willing to group humans together coarsely ("all you people") that Don't look at humanity like they should.

I was encouraged to read most of the posts preceding ours. The fight against hateful reactionaries that I read there makes your common use of the second person (tense) a bit confusing, yes?

Kudos to Kanye for speaking the obvious truth...Bush is one of the worst presidents in our nation's history. Why? What was his excuse for going to war in Iraq? How did we go from Osama to Sadam? What did Saddam Hussein ever do to us? Just because he is evil, and persecutes his people, we have to send thousands of our troops, spend billions of billions of dollars for what? Then why doesn't he wage war against North Korea? Is Kim Jong Il that much different from Saddam Hussein? I would think Kim Jong Il would be worse. Look at North Korea. People starving everywhere, they are trying to develop nuclear weapons...if the reason for going to war against Iraq is to find WMD and to "democracize" the country, the same reason could and should be used for North Korea. Obviously, we all know the basic reason for this country to go to war against Sadam's regime: OIL. Bush does not have enough brain cells to realize most of the American people are not ignorant and know why we are at war with Iraq. The fact that Americans are supporting Bush's logic to go to war against Iraq is an underlying truth that we Americans are either very stupid or corrupt. Also, to all the people angry at Kanye for making the Katrina disaster into a issue of racism, deal with it. He is only saying what most of the non white people in this country are thinking. If you came from a white background, you are obviously not going to understand what Kanye is talking about because you will never experience the discrimination and persecution that is bestowed upon black people by the white people in this country. Don't be criticising Kanye's lyrics (farmgirl) if you don't have the brains to break the song down...obviously, someone with a little more education and experience has this to say about the song 'Jesus Walks'.

"'Jesus Walks' is one of those miraculous songs that you hear for the first time and immediatley look forward to hearing on a semiregular basis for the next 30 or 40 years." Josh Tyrangiel - Time Magazine

kanya rules i dont care what you say if you dont like it email me

"About 10,000 US National Guard troops were deployed [in New Orleans] and were granted the authority to fire at and kill whom they wanted, upon the pretext of restoring order. This decision is an indication of the US administration's militarist mentality, which regards killing as the only way to control even its own citizens. " MORE WORLD PRESS HERE:

It's amazing that people would refuse to donate money to the Red Cross just because they don't like certain comments.. *Comments* someone made during a benefit program.. What are these people, 5 years old? If you wanted to donate to help the victims of the disaster, why does it matter what Kanye West said? You're going to punish the storm victims just because somebody bad mouthed Bush?

Saying you disagree with him is fine, but refusing to donate money (when you KNOW that money has nothing to do with his opinion) is just ridiculous.

Kanye West is right!!! It is about time somebody said it!! Bush is an A$$!! And only ethbic people can see it because white people stick together!!!!! They see it is an attack on America if you are not for the president. If you have been watching CNN you will see the leves of help that is required. George Bush can find Saddam, In a hole under Iraq, which is across the world but cannot send help to a city in his own country!!! This is modern day genocide!!!!

What Kanye West said represents alot of minorities opinions on this current situation. People who think otherwise must understand the obstacles minorities face in the USA. It just leaves me to believe that when any black man says something like this on television based on his emotions and years and years of african american blood spilled all over this country not only in defending it but also in victims of slavery he is criticized so openly. I am only stating an opionion because we as humans how do we plan to solve the worlds problems such as this with are limited knowledge. We humans are so ignorant we cannot deny it we are a plague on mother earth. We go to war and are deceive into beliveing that we are saving lives even as we destroy them. If your judging me but what i am saying don't because only god can judge me you are only flesh and meat not the all knowing god.

what the hell is going on here? you won't donate money just because one man said something you guys didn't like! one man out of 30 something million blacks, are you guys serious?

ignore them at your own peril and see what happens afterwards. We already have troops in Afghan, iraq, japan, korea and you wanna start a civil war in America!

God help us.

There are quite a few morons in here! am outta here! sickos!

Angry at Stupidity, do not dispair totally; there are MANY 'non-minorities' who work to understand and act accordingly, myself included.
But read on:

MINORITY and others, how easy it is for ALL of us to take our cue from the vocal extreme on any viewpoint. It is so much easier to put people into categories and use blunt characteristics to justify our anger and fear than it is to recognize each human as a complicated individual capable of a wide spectrum of behavior.

Those who seek common sense and compassion in our dealings with each other are FAR from alone or isolated by ethnic group. WE just need to BELIEVE that and continue reaching out and NOT be thwarted by examples that allow us to fall back on our comfortable assumptions and prejudices. The angry opinions about GROUPS of people one can read all over this blog now are only the tip of an iceberg.
Let us gather with like-minded champions of the individuals of the entire World and stand on the part of the iceberg above water.

It's funny hearing you guys balk and be appalled by his comments. Truth of the matter is, it's funny how everyones hearts pour out after a tragedy but when in a superstore or asked to give 5 dollars for charity, you think twice and most people never do it-they need that money for their mocha. The lack of funding and empathy is from ignorant people-both black and white. Everyone sits on their thumbs and when something happens, oh yay i gave my 10 dollars, I'm a hero. Right, where were you before when they asked you over the phone or at a grocery store and you either hung up or walked away. Ignorant americans. Kanye is attached to his people and you guys attack his comments. Look at all the comments said by white people, the media, the politicians toward black people. I haven't seen message boards taking apart their comments and talking about how appalled they are. At the end of the day, no one realizes that it's one race, the HUMAN race. Ignorance is bliss, and well, America-has a lot of bliss.

Thank you, Kanye. Discussions like this one right here show how vital it was for you to stand up the way you did.

I am appalled by the first few commenters on this thread. Ignorant.

jay, you're as dumb as kanye west. anyone notice how unintelligent he sounded when he went 'offscript'? not just the words he was saying, but how he was saying them... stick to canned beats and cliched rhymes about thuggin' in the hood, you stupid piece of refuse. i'll never buy anything of his again, and i hope none of you will either.

Kanye West only voiced what we were already thinking anyway.

Why would any of you folks care whether Kayne West can put a sentence together correctly when the president of this country is a semi literate, half wit? This is just an obvious and juvenile way to distract people from the truth. Kayne West made his point clear enough and I agree completely with everything he was trying to say. Our leaders betray their true thoughts and feelings by way of their actions. Precious time and assets were wasted on so called “looters” while people were suffocating in their attics. Even now the troops, police and firefighters are protecting private property instead of saving lives. I believe hundreds or even thousands of lives were lost because first responders were told to protect property instead of people. It’s all about the money and most of the victims who were left to fend for themselves have no money. We live in a racist country in a racist world and the treatment you receive has everything to do with your race, your gender, your religion, your financial status, who you know & who you blow. Yes, the Democrats may run New Orleans and occupy some state positions but it was the Federal government, specifically Bush, who cut the funding needed to reinforce the levee system and restore the coastal wetlands. I seriously doubt if this funding would have been cut if a Republican Senator was begging for funds instead of a Democrat. Like I say it’s who you blow.

Tina! Now you done gone and got me all excited!

I totally agree with Jay. The first comments are very appalling!!! Kanye brings up a very good discussion!! On sept 11, the american president responded within hours, and deployed as many souls as he could to aid in the efforts. But now when it is not "his kind" of people he did not send anything for FIVE days!!! that is inhumane!!! People are starving, dehydrated and swimming in stagnant disgusting water, for what reason. I fully support what Kanye said. And to Answer what clintCarter said I also agree that we should use compassion and not rely on prejudice to comfort our assumptions. But as you can plainly see on every television network, it is not an assumption that it is prejudice!!! the evidence is right in our face!!! but people who have never experienced prejudice do not see it as such. To them black people are just looking for someone to blame. But in actuallity if you actually open you "Americen Eyes" and see the truth, and not what is spoonfed to you by your "compassionate" government, you too will see the issues which are at hand. The war on terrorism is right here in america, not over seas and you voted him in!!!

In my opinion Mr. West has no idea what a racist is. Making statements without the facts is dangerous especially about someone he does not know. Mr. West should use his talent to help promote peace and respect and refrain from making racist comments about the President of the United States.
Mr. West is an American Citizen not a Black radical. I wonder how he would do in Iraq?

Mr. West use your money and celebrity status to help those that need it and leave the politics alone.

Stay away from the arena of lions or you may soon find out who is the predator and the prey!

I luv you Kanye...

is not about race in the eyes of god but don't be so ignorant to say that is not aoout race in the eyes of humans. For the reason that we see it and live racism everyday.

KANYE IS MY HERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kanye was right. Bush hates black people. We can look at his record. We can also look at his actions here. Bush also has a thing against poor people.

Sad thing is, some poor people are white as well.

Go Kanye..

As i read what people wrote it leaves me to believe that our fate is a lifetime of hate. People stating that race is not an issue if race was not an issue and we just catogorized ourselves as humans the word race would have never been created to differenciate black people from white people. We first must state our problems and solve them instead of ignoring them.
We got soldiers in iraq now who are deceived into believing that they are saving lives even as they destroy them. Not only our soldiers but soldiers all over the world. It seems that humanity only strength is not to unite to help but to unite to destroy. The reason i included our soldiers in this conversation is because they should be here helping our people. The troubles of the world are perpetual(lasting through eternity). Our troubles as humanity will remain perpetual unless the whole world unites under one system in which we all our govern by one god. It cannot simply be a man because man are bestowed limited knowledge. If we don't unite as a whole world natural disaters or wars will simply destroy us. Since we simply cannot unite as a whole world because of the ignorance of man those who believe in uniting as a whole world must find inner peace by bringing life to our lands and sharing it with the ones we love. Creating peace with yourself by finding a balance and harmony with the world around you is the only peace we can create because any other peace is fleeding and temporarily. Unless we unite as a whole world we would simply have a fate of an everlasting cycle of deception, wars, and situations like katrina in which we are not able to unite to help those in need.Embrace my words an make the world change.

George Bush hugging a couple of black people does not make up for the gross incompetance he has shown in handling national emergencies (9-11 included... lets face it, though he responded faster to 9-11, he still was missing for two whole days... people forget that). West was justified in making his comments. If there is any lip service going on, its mostly on the part of George Bush trying to save his tarnished reputation. George Bush in no way represents the interests or opinions of minorities, especially black people. Now, George Bush may not in fact be a racist (who knows), but his actions show that he at least has no stake in the intersts of poor and working class people. Some of you who have posted in defence of GW,if you are white, what makes you think that you have any understanding of what minorities, especially blacks, go through in this country... wake up people, George Bush is not your friend (unless you are CEO of some multi-national). West was not inciting a riot, just telling it as how many of us see things. Perhaps he wasn't particularly diplomatic about it, but his frustrations are well understood. Kudos to him, for putting it straight.

Am i the only one who feels patronized by all these celebrities calling for charity? Granted this tragedy is immense and if i could i would give as much as i could spare. Unfortunately when youre on $9 an hour, its a little hard to find spare cash. At last count i figured if each of the actors on the Red Cross appeal gave their next paycheck (ranging from $5 million to approx $20 million a movie from what ive read) then we'd have over $200 million for the coffers. Just a thought.

And in response to those who wonder why so many people didnt evacuate when news of the Hurricane was given? WHen you live from paycheck to paycheck, struggling to even feed your family, when you have no car, no family outside state, its a little damn hard. Also various 'shelters' that were to be used in times of crisis like the one we face, have since be shown to be woefully inadaquete and substandard. Much of the blame must lie with local authorities and not just with the federal government. Both have been shown up and someone must be held responsible. This all makes me feel very very sick to the stomach.

You all need to shut the fuck up Bush deserves a bullet 8)

You ignorant Bush bashers, pull your head out of your liberal democratic asses oh wait a minute call on the government to do that for you too. The President signed an emergency order BEFORE the storm even hit. This was when everyone was told to leave. I remember very clearly on Saturday/Sunday prior to the storm many said "WE ARE GOING TO RIDE THIS OUT", well I guess they did some are still riding her out... Many of you say that some are so poor living pay check to pay check that they couldn't afford to get out. CORRECTION: They were living from WELFARE check to WELFARE check. I have also read many critizing us WHITE folk driving our SUV's out of the city (I bet there was also many well to do BLACKS as well). Well that is how it should be. We / I bust our asses working hard to get ahead instead of sitting around wondering what the government can do for you. I think many people in this country heard President Kennedy incorrectly years ago he said "Don't ask what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country". Here is how fair it is. The well to do family uses their own money and vehicle, heading the warning, drive out of the storms path. They have to pay for their entire trip out of their own pocket including hotel and etc. On the flip side if you are a waste and don't have a pot to piss on or a window to throw it out of then the TAX PAYERS will pay. Here is what I want to see. We have 10's of thousands of evacuees in shelters in many different states being run by the government, Red Cross, Salvation Army and others. If the evacuees REALLY WANT to help themselves there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for them to not start taking over running the entire facility themselves instead of just sitting around staring at the walls. We will see. FYI - I will be taking in a few displaced indivuals. How about you???? Look around this is not RACIAL I see people of all races caught up in this mess white, black, hispanic, asian and etc. Stop all of the poor me, poor us, poor this, poor that and etc. Get out and get a job. KAYNE WEST doesn't have a clue about what he is talking about, ignorant bastard.

Excuse me, "tax payer, not on welfare" the problem with this country is people like you. You call Kanye an ignorant bastard, you need to look in a mirror. You sit up there on your high horse talking about welfare checks and them not having a pot to piss in, did you build your pot yourself? Did you have great parents and a bedroom full of toys and clothes, a good education, food on the table every night? I'll bet you did. I'll bet your parents even bought you a car on your 16th birthday, didn't they?

When people are born into poverty, into a society filled with people like you, they don't always get a chance to make the right choices. You say get out and get a job, are you going to hire them? The poorest of poor with their tattered clothes, with no vehicle to reliably get them to work, with no one to watch thier children. Most of them have jobs, but it's not enough. Tell me how you are supposed to survive on $5.15 an hour. Could you survive on that with no help? They said they were going to "ride it out" because what choice did they have? If they don't have a car and they don't have any money, how the hell do you expect them to get out?

You are a real piece of work, you are just like President Bush and that is not a compliment. President Bush doesn't give a rat's ass about those people, maybe it's because they are black, maybe it's just because they are poor...as far as him signing an emergency order before the storm even hit, whoopty frickin doo...what a wonderful caring man...why the hell did it take them 4 or 5 days to get in there and help, he's full of shit, you're full of shit...it's nothing but a disgrace.

As far as them getting up and running the facilities themselves....you frickin jerk...they just went through a HUGE TRAMA!!! Their mothers are dead, thier wives are dead, their children are dead...their houses are gone, anything they did own is gone, they don't know where they are going or how they are going to live. I'd like to see you go through something like that, lose your family, lose everything you own and do anything BUT sit around and stare at the wall.

As for you taking in a few displaced people, you must be an angel!! If I had a million dollars, I'd bet that the people you're taking in aren't POOR BLACK PEOPLE!!!

Sarah,
There you go dreaming up a whirl wind of misjudgements. First of all most of what you SPECULATE my child hood to be is incorrect. I happen to know a little bit of what I'm talking about. It is my belief that most of where you are at is made up of choices you make.

To correct you, I come from a family that was divorced. NO I bought my own car when I was 17 by myself with NO MONEY from anyone else, it was money I made working from the age of 12. We lived a sub-standard life, cutting wood to heat our home because we didn't have enough money for heating oil (my father worked so he wasn't eligible for state and federal aid). No I'm NOT a millionaire not even close. And as far as the individuals I will be taking in I don't know what race they will be and frankly I don't care. Matter of fact I have many close friends of other races and yes including African Americans however they dismiss the feel sorry for yourself attitude that is drummed into every poor person in America and have taken their futures in their own hands and made something of themselves.

I will answer the college piece before you dream up a false reality on that too. Yes I went to college, with my own money. My parents never paid for my college education they didn't have the money either. So, with the money I saved from working through my childhood I paid for my first 2 semesters. When that money was gone I could only get loans NOT GRANTS because my parents income was just above the level needed to qualify. Maybe we should have just throttled it back a little and then qualified for state and federal grants. I paid all of my loans in full in 5 years. Every damn cent.

My whole point here is everyone including KAYNE WEST immediately gets a hard on to jump the federal government (primarily because they hate Bush). You don't even have a clue how the escalation of a disaster like this one happens from within the government. First responders are from the local, then the state and finally the federal government. The Governer of each state has total control over the National Guard in the state. Where in the hell were they? I don't hear you being critical of the Mayor of New Orleans or the Governor of LA? Oh that's right the Mayor is African American and the Governor is a Democrat. Why didn't KAYNE WEST bring that to light?

Sarah you have the same attitude most have if someone is doing better than you are, try to knock them down and make up excuses why you are where you are at. You have this mindset that someone better off than you must have been feed with a silver spoon. In many cases that is not true, they just took the initiative and got off their ass and got it done.

Don't forget where the majority of the federal, state and local taxes (minus sales tax) is collected and generated from, the middle class and up. So the minority end up paying for the majority of the taxes, mmm that's fair. If it wasn't for the millionaires you speak of and other hard working tax payers WHERE IN THE HELL DO YOU THINK ONE FRICKIN CENT OF GOVERNMENT HELP WOULD COME FROM? In your dream world the rich and government have bottom less pockets.

The real victims are the children as they could only do or not do what their parents wished. I hope the children of this trajedy now get the opportunity to be around others that encourage them to be more and break the cycle of poor me, poor us and etc.

I am beyond pleased to see that people are aware that there is a problem. People dont turn everthing in to an issue about racism, it is because of racism that the incidents occur. Kanye never held bush responsible for the hurricane, it was the lack of effort to rescue the people he was criticizing for those who went on a tangent and mixed words as people often do. Also be aware that if race was not relevant then nearly every form i fill out would not ask voluntarily or not for my race. Kanye stated the obvious, if anyone is ignorant or wants others to be ignorant enough to believe that if these were white people of higher economical status they would'nt have been rescued much earlier then I can say ignorance can remain bliss to you only. One last thing to the person that posted earlier (dont remember the name) that basically its sad but oh well, they should have evacuated, I must tell you everyone is not in the same financial situation as you. Everyone can not afford nor do they have the means to go. Everyone doesnt have a car or anywhere else to go.

I saw a photo-op, too. It was Gee Dubya walking up to some flood refugees and hugging them, but instead of holding something useful in his hands (say like food or water or medicine), he was holding an EMPTY bag. God forbid the prez should actually have to carry something....even for photo-ops. What was he doing with that bag....trying to get the refugees to start cleaning up?!? *shakes head*

Tax payer not on welfare,

In response to your post, I would like to say that I do not think that anyone that is doing better than me, was fed with a silver spoon. The reason that I said those things to you was because of your attitude, it was because of the way you talked about people living welfare check to welfare check. Like you are so much better than them.

Even your last post when you say that you got off your ass and took the initiative to do something about it. Poor people do not always have a chance to take that initiative. The schools in those areas are not the same, the every day living is not the same. If there is no one there to encourage them or tell them they can succeed how are they supposed to do that? Tell me how someone is just supposed to pull themselves out of the hell of poverty with no one to help them. As far as the "poor me" attitudes, I'm sure you've gone through that a few times in your life. You probably caught a break that got you out of it.

There is no point in going back and forth with you, you aren't going to open your mind. You are just going to sit there saying ignorant things, just like the President does, in your own little world where the poor people are just lazy and where there is no racism. I feel sorry for you.

By the way, way to go with the black friends!! I'm proud of you.

Kayne West's remarks are laughable. What a moron. And judging by his "speech", he better pray his (c)rap career stays on top, because that guy will never be an orator.

So America can design missiles that hit the mark with pinpoint accuracy from miles away, send people into space and have them walk on the moon, use their endless resources and money to create vast city skylines etc. And yet it takes days and days to evacuate a bunch of people from a flooded city. What a joke.

Hello, I just recently viewed what Kanye West said on the telethon. It is arguable whether his comments were appropriate or not. Personally, I feel like that was the best time for him to get his point across to people who otherwise would have never seen his face or known who he was. It was the best time for him to illustrate the racism that the goverment often perpetuates.
And it is also arguable whether or not Bush cares about black people. Personally, I don't believe Bush cares for too many people that are poor, whether they're black or white. I do believe that he has prejudices and that they influenced his slow response to the primarily black city of New Orleans. I do believe that if it had been Crawford, Texas he would have responded sooner. Moreover, I do believe that he demonstrates partiality for certain U.S. citizens.
However, it is NOT arguable whether it would be appropriate for someone to not donate to the Red Cross because of what Kanye West said. That's ridiculous. It was a live show, and NBC had no way of stopping Kanye from practicing his freedom of speech. He has the right to say what he wants to say, a right that many other countries can't boast of. If you want anyone to suffer because of what Kanye said, let it be Kanye, and not the Gulf Coast victims. THey don't deserve to not receive a donation because you're disgusted with Kanye West. That's ridiculously stupid, ignorant, immature, and very unAmerican.
People talk about us uniting as one, but they fail to realize that for people who can't look to this country as their own country, they can't consider themselves one with racist people. It's hard to convince someone with the theme of unity when we live in a country where the President hesistatingly, reluctantly, and possibly grudgingly cut his vacation short to assess the damage of New Orleans from his jet. 5 days?!?!?! That is crazy!!! Come on, let's push aside any partisan views and fix our country!

And what is it that YOU deserve, prick?

He doesn't deserve a bullet. Stop saying that, you have serious problems and you might want to get some help. How is it helpful in any way to post that even once, let alone two or three times.

I do not like George Bush...at all. I think he is a horrible president, a liar and a cheat. But saying he deserves to be shot, that's ridiculous. Why don't you post an intelligent comment, your feelings on the situation, not your feelings on someone deserving to be killed.

Jeeze...

Wow, most of you read just as ignorant as you claim West to be.

Some responses here are a prime example of buffoonery at it's finest and how clueless one can be to the plight of mankind and those statement's made by West, though ineloquent as it may be.

Rather then sitting here typing your words of anger there is a situation going on where 'Americans' are being left to die and starve.

So excuse me if I don't find humor in your foolish statements here today.

Fuck Bush and thanks for helping the poor, yes minorities that you could care shit about.

...bet if they had some oil in their backyard there would be no hesitation.

Also, to add.

If his statement stops a person from donating, then there true intention was to never donate in the first place.

How one can be so easily fooled by their anger through the statements of one person that you haven’t even heard of before this date simply shows how weak you are.

To Taxpayer not on welfare,

Your rantings are unbelievable as most of the first few posts here.

Did you know how much billions of dollars have been spent on Iraq war paid for by my tax dollar( to be precise,$65,000 last year).

I am White and conservative but when it comes to my country, my fellow citizens either white, black or hispanic comes first period!

secondly, America gives to Isreal about $3 billion( which they will never pay back, considering that we have been giving them for the last 20 years or so) in aid as loan guarantee every year and $2 billion to Egypt every single fiscal year and YOU HAVE THE GUTS TO BE COMPLAINING ABOUT YOU FELLOW AMERICANS WHEN THEY NEEDED HELP. YOU DON'T KICK A MAN WHEN HE IS DOWN.

Prosperous Isreal has just been allocated about $3 billion (on top of the $3billion loan guarantee) to rehouse Jewish Settlers from Gaza while you are complaining about help to your fellow citizens.

What a shame and utter hypocrisy!

see me change

changes are no good

Kanye West: speaks the truth. If this would have happened in some white town, all those people would have been saved within 72 hours....White America can't possibly understand this....
