Just listen to this via NBC - went over every network, I'm told.
George Bush doesn't care about black people, they've been given permission to go down there and shoot us
Update: You might want to visit popular rapper Kanye West's website. He was recently in the news when Shug Knight was SHOT at a party West was hosting. How lovely.
rap mogul shug knight has been shot at a party hosted by kanye west. he was apparently shot in the leg by an unknown assailant...more to come...

Totally DISGUSTING as hell. !!
ASSHOLES in their finest hour. !

Why does someone ALWAYS have to turn everything into a black/white issue? WHY?????
Posted by: TexasGal | Friday, September 02, 2005 at 09:40 PM
This is disgusting...They also said he's responsible for hurricane Katrina because of his environmental policies-which is totally ludicris....he has been an excellent, caring, down to earth President-and all these uneducated people making their comments off some propaganda can go to hell as far as I am concerned.

The military has permission to shoot anyone interfering in rescue efforts, not just black people. Why must people be so ignorant?
Posted by: George Bush Lover | Friday, September 02, 2005 at 09:46 PM
Shame on him and shame on the Red Cross. No one is reporting even seeing the Red Cross there, either. Using this to bash Bush by spreading wild rumors and big fat lies is reprehensible. Not going to donate one penny to them ever again, learned my lesson with 9/11.
Call your local station if you see this running in your area and demand they stop it.
We do not need more negativity and depressing liars, it is truly bad enough on its own without making up lies to make it worse. Surely he does not realize the scope of this disaster.
Greta is on bragging about the TEXANS and all they have done and I second everything she has said. They opened their state and their big Texas hearts and have taken in tens of thousands in their domes where while sparse and bleak, at least the people feel safe and are fed and have basic needs met. So much better than what they left and lifesaving in so many instances.
If we do not get formula to the babies, we are going to have hundreds die NOW so pray and help and please, celebs, stop with the bashing until you have physically worked in the area a couple of weeks.
Prayer and positive vibes may be all that keep some alive through this.

No Kidding- makes me sick, I can't believe NBC would allow this to air! I would help the people of New Orleans but not through this charity fundraiser.

GeorgeBL I didn't see it on tv. Hubby was switching back and forth between the baseball game.
Don't know if they pulled it off the air around here (Northeast). I would imagine it was live or tape delay???
I don't blame the Red Cross I doubt there was much time for rehersal so they probably had no clue what he was going to say.

That is pathitic.
Posted by: Michael | Friday, September 02, 2005 at 10:00 PM
Hydrangea -I don't blame the Red Cross, I blame NBC. They should have a delay so they can edit this crud. It is disgraceful to us as a nation, not to mention insulting to the greatest President! (by the way, there is a link to the tape on the top of this page)

why would anyone want to rebuild anything to rehouse those welfare leeches?....10 billion dollars indeed.....it's a shame eugenicists gave up the debate long ago.

Your post is just as stupid as his comments.
Posted by: chandellesmom | Friday, September 02, 2005 at 10:02 PM
Who is Kanye West anyway? Mike Myers looked mortified when that happened. NBC is despicable for showing that. I just saw a very heart-warming scene with Bush and two blacks from Mississippi on Fox News(Hannity & Colmes), and the President did NOT look like he hated black people! He was hugging on them and comforting them. We here in Mississippi appreciate George Bush!
Posted by: danascully | Friday, September 02, 2005 at 10:02 PM
Good way to incite a riot! Is that the goal? Incite more violence?
Posted by: Sky | Friday, September 02, 2005 at 10:05 PM
Now that was a fine piece of..um..work. Might I suggest that if either of the two gentlemen are TRULY worried about the people on the gulf coast that they donate the millions and millions of dollars in their hollywood-a$$ bank accounts to help their fellow man in need. Yup, that would be a fine start, and it would go a long way to help people that really need help. I'll be watching the headlines to see if they are legit or if it's all lip service.
Posted by: MarlboroGal | Friday, September 02, 2005 at 10:06 PM
That was freaking hilarious. It was an absolute comedy skit and funnier than anything Saturday Night Live has done in 6 or 7 years.
That's why I give to the Salvation Army instead of the Red Cross (but to be fair, both do good work...).
Posted by: Preston Taylor Holmes | Friday, September 02, 2005 at 10:09 PM
Bad taste award of the year to Kanye West! A telethon to raise money for hurricane victims is not the time or place to get political! How many people were disgusted by his comments and therefore didn't donate? What a shame. As far as the white/black looting matter he brought up--if you see a desperate, starving person (of any color) stealing food and water, that is more understandable. Stealing TVs, VCRS, etc. by a person of any color is not.
Posted by: petunia | Friday, September 02, 2005 at 10:10 PM
GBL
Yes NBC and every network at this point should know that many in the entertainment industry can't be trusted in front of a camera or near a microphone! Everything should be on tape delay.
Who was this guy? A rapper? Will be interesting to see what the hollywood /music industry's "take" on this will be.
Sincerely hope it didn't hurt donations too much.

I can understand his frustration on one level, and yet Kanye West's ignorance of Bush's record (by far the most racially diverse cabinet ever assembled) and his arrogance ("I have to check with my business manager to see what I can contribute") are disgusting.
If you want to place blame, however, target teh network. They can dump offensive comments, and they made the choice not too. Instead they decided to politicize the situation, exascerbating racial tensions, to get a cheap shot in at Bush via a clueless celbrity.
Target NBC for a blogswarm. They are beyond disgusting.

Typical....they're all yelling racism like usual. You have to be a white chocolate like Bill Clinton or M&M or else you're 'the enemy white man' to all of them. Has the rescue been a disaster? Yes. Was it because Pres. Bush is a racist? Hell no. Gotta blame whitey for everything though and yell racism. It's wore out and I'm tired of it. Pray for the good folks of New Orleans. They need alot of help NOW!

I just went to nbc.com, clicked the Concert for "Hurricane Releif" link, and placed a call to 1-800-HELP NOW, the Red Cross's donation line. I calmly explained that I would be donating my charity dollars to another aid organization because NBC chose to allow harsh poltical speech to air at a time the nation shold be drawing together.
I calmly asked to speak to a supervisor, and spoke with a very nice lady. She explained that they were just a call center. I understood, and I told her that by letting her know of my displeasure, and of my intention to now donate elsewhere, that she could tell her managers that NBC cost the Red Cross money.
She said she completely understood, and was content that I was donating elsewhere (Samaritan's Purse, via my blog). She said a LOT of calls were being made, and that the Red Cross would be issuing a statement this evening (not online as of 10:29).
Keep up the pressure on these jerks at at NBC. I changed my donation, but now NBC potentially alienated 1/2 of their potential donors.
I hope the suffering that results was worth it.

now let me see if I get this right...its ok with Kanye whoever he is..for these thugs (don't care what color, they thugs) to shoot policemen
who are there to try to help (alone and with no back up) and shoot at helicopters and to steal ambulances...
Those are "his" people..
Well, MY people are those thousands of other black people in that dome who are suffering and want and need the help that the thugs are shooting at.
Relief was too little and way past due..that's known..now put away your race lines and pitch in and get this job done..black or white, black and white.
Frankly I just as soon have to look at janet Jackson's titties..barf barf

Some of his wonderful lyrics:
KANYE WEST LYRICS
"Jesus Walks"
Yo, We at war
We at war with terrorism, racism, and most of all we at war with ourselves
(Jesus Walks)
God show me the way because the Devil trying to break me down
(Jesus Walks with me) with me with me with me [fades]
You know what the Midwest is?
Young & Restless
Where restless Niggaz might snatch your necklace
And next these Niggaz might jack your Lexus
Somebody tell these Niggaz who Kanye West is
I walk through the valley of the shadow of death is
Top floor the view alone will leave you breathless Uhhhh!
Try to catch it Uhhhh! It's kinda hard hard
Getting choked by the detectives yeah yeah now check the method
They be asking us questions, harass and arrest us
Saying "we eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast"
Huh? Yall eat pieces of shit? What's the basis?
We ain't going nowhere but got suits and cases
A trunk full of coke rental car from Avis
My momma used to say only Jesus can save us
Well momma I know I act a fool
But I'll be gone til November I got packs to move I Hope
[Hook x2]
(Jesus Walks)
God show me the way because the Devil trying to break me down
(Jesus Walks with me)
The only thing that that I pray is that me feet don't fail me now
(Jesus Walks)
And I don't think there is nothing I can do now to right my wrongs
(Jesus Walks with me)
I want to talk to God but I'm afraid because we ain't spoke in so long
To the hustlas, killers, murderers, drug dealers even the strippers
(jesus walks with them)
To the victims of Welfare for we living in hell here hell yeah
(jesus walks with them)
Now hear ye hear ye want to see Thee more clearly
I know he hear me when my feet get weary
Cuz we're the almost nearly extinct
We rappers are role models we rap we don't think
I ain't here to argue about his facial features
Or here to convert atheists into believers
I'm just trying to say the way school need teachers
The way Kathie Lee needed Regis that's the way yall need Jesus
So here go my single dog radio needs this
They say you can rap about anything except for Jesus
That means guns, sex, lies, video tapes
But if I talk about God my record won't get played Huh?
Well let this take away from my spins
Which will probably take away from my ends
Then I hope this take away from my sins
And bring the day that I'm dreaming about
Next time I'm in the club everybody screaming out
(Jesus Walks)
God show me the way because the devil trying to break me down
(Jesus Walks)
The only thing that that I pray is that me feet don't fail me now

Plans for tonight cancelled..seems that some thugs are loose in Shreveport and so we staying in.
Who ever believed that we would be wary of going out to movie in this town becasue of thugs roaming the streets and looting?
I figure that local police force will deal with this problem asap.
Sure hope so anyway.
Sure want our streets to be safe again.
I feel like that rapper wants a race war..well I dont' trust that as far as his thugs are concerned it matters what color I am..they will hurt anyone who moving and available to hurt.
I took a survey.."what would you take if you knew your had to leave your home and had only five minutes to decide"...
women all said Pictures..except for one who said she woudl go to bank and get her jewelry..guess she didn't have grand kids.
The men: 100% of them said "my guns"...the survey was 20 of each sex mixed races..
So rapper..warn your thugs..that around here the women are looking at pictures but their men are armed and protecting thier home.

well. are you promoting that song? Or did you put it up for comparative analysis?
Just wondering ...
Posted by: farmgirl | Friday, September 02, 2005 at 11:03 PM
Too bad the Red Cross had to waste time and energy preparing a statement because of some ill-timed comments by a rapper. Did it occur to Kanye West that his comments are insulting to all the thousands, and hopefully millions, of Americans who are opening their hearts and wallets to help? These kind and generous people want to help those in need, regardless of color. I think West owes all the donors an apology.
Posted by: petunia | Friday, September 02, 2005 at 11:05 PM
Farm Girl- Hell NO I am not promoting that song, I was answering Hydrangea, about who Kanye West was, and thought you all would like to see what he raps about- I am repulsed by him and what he said.
Posted by: George Bush Lover | Friday, September 02, 2005 at 11:06 PM
yo,
*this is as in yoo hoo?
We at war
*sure we are..its in Iraq and brave young men *black and white are dying to make a nation free for its citizens.
We at war with terrorism,
*Certainly agree with that..and to the point that we are giving up many of our sacred rights
racism, and most of all we at war with ourselves
*Rapper you not at war ..you not wearing a uniform of the US military..If you out shooting or advocating same you are a terrorist.
(Jesus Walks)
God show me the way because the Devil trying to break me down
(Jesus Walks with me) with me with me with me [fades]
*Jesus, Allah, God ..does not promote politically motivated racisim
You know what the Midwest is?
*The midwest is the back bone of this nation
Young & Restless
Where restless Niggaz might snatch your necklace
And next these Niggaz might jack your Lexus
*Well you used the word...and yes you are promoting this snatching and jacking not caring for the young black that will do time for the deed.
Somebody tell these Niggaz who Kanye West is
*I think they could do better without the introduction to your hate
I walk through the valley of the shadow of death is
Top floor the view alone will leave you breathless Uhhhh!
Try to catch it Uhhhh! It's kinda hard hard
Getting choked by the detectives yeah yeah now check the method
They be asking us questions, harass and arrest us
*Is this from personal experience from a recent arrest?
Saying "we eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast"
Huh? Yall eat pieces of shit? What's the basis?
We ain't going nowhere but got suits and cases
A trunk full of coke rental car from Avis
Are you proud of this? That young black men are snatching necklaces or purses and jacking Lexus's and keeping Cocaine in trunks of theri cars?
My momma used to say only Jesus can save us
Well momma I know I act a fool
But I'll be gone til November I got packs to move I Hope
*Your mother should have another son and raise him better.
[Hook x2]
(Jesus Walks)
*These lyrics are sick..they are racist..and they are preaching racism. they are not helping young black men they are pushing them down and putting them at risk..
shame on this rapper...
oK THERE is the analysis..and this guy makes money for this?

And next these Niggaz might jack your Lexus
Somebody tell these Niggaz who Kanye West is
We ain't going nowhere but got suits and cases

hmmmm
believe he's talkin about his own "people".
Of course all of this is the "white" mans fault.
I want to hear Jesse, Rev. Al. etc blast this guy but it will not happen.
If a white man had talked about a black man this way can you imagine the fallout?????
