Dave Holloway, the Father of missing teen Natalee Holloway distanced himself from a call for a boycott of Aruba by popular daytime television psychologist, Dr. Phil.
From early press reports, I've been told Dave Holloway points out that he is "independent of that opinion and can speak for himself".
Apparent quotes are said to go on to say, "I have family that work regular jobs. There is no reason that 100,000 people should be made to suffer for the actions of 3 or 4 individuals, which may not even be from this island".
A reporter goes on to point out that since the beginning of the case, Dave has never used the word corruption and distances himself from Beth and Dr. Phil on this issue, as well.
Currently, Dave Holloway is in Aruba to check on the progress of the investigation and to confer with the prosecutor's office and share information received from emails to HELPFINDNATALEE@COMCAST.NET.
He believes that police may have taken a wrong track at the beginning, but they are not the only LE to have ever done that, and the ALE is making every effort to solve the case-the investigation is continuing, and there have been other cases in other places that have taken much longer to reach a conclusion. He is said to be confident that the Aruban police are doing all they can.
Holloway also states "I am open to the idea of other possibilities". He will not talk to the media about any of the information in the event that it would compromise the investigation.
In addition, to clear up some issues-there is no million dollar insurance policies on Natalee's life, and he does not believe she ran away-she was making plans for school and the summer-there is no indication of that possibility.
As for the fund set up by Beth and Jug, he has no access to it and doesn't know why -his trips to Aruba have been possible with assistance of his church.
He also requests that anyone with any information that can assist in the resolution of this case please send it to HELPFINDNATALEE@COMCAST.NET.

Dave Holloway is a true and honest parent.
I am elated to "hear" his words posted by Dan.
Dave - Stay strong and follow what you know is right. You have many, many people who believe in you and your entire family's quest.

"There is no reason that 100,000 people should be made to suffer for the actions of 3 or 4 individuals, which may not even be from this island".
Gee--I wonder which 3 or 4 people Dave is referring to.

Dave,
Thank you for speaking out and answering the questions that have been asked by many. Your integrity speaks for itself. May God Bless Natalee and all of her family.

May he thinks he can get more bees with honey than with lemons. :o) , which is not a bad idea. I have not problem with his view. He just has a different approach.
Personally, I have no disire to go there nor would I recommend any one I knew to got there. They need to update their laws to somewhat of a normal government.
I would maybe buy tulip bulbs from them. <;O)

Not every english speaking Aruban paper is on line. The stories good.

Dave .. a person of class and dignity, even through the trauma of a missing daughter. My family prays for your family and that you may have answers and closure soon. My family went through something similar, except it was my brother and in the U.S. Although it was known who the two men were who had ended his life, the military managed to say there 'wasn't enough proof'. This whole story has been so sad. Godspeed, Dave and RObin. You and Natalee are in our prayers.

Good luck to Dave and his family. He definitely takes the high road and is remaining objective. I hope they can all find peace and resolution soon.

I can appreciate Dave's Point of View, not wanting Natalee to take the trip to begin with now working against the boycott. However, Really disagree with the divided front approach. Yeah, Good Guy, Bad Guy works well, to a point, but dividing the US isn't helping the situation, and works against a unified effort. Guys get on the same page, you're confusing your supporters.

I wonder why Dave isnt entitled to some of the donations raised for expenses in the search for Natalee?

The donation to the HelpFindNatalee@Comcast- did it go to Dave or Beth's effort?

good intentions but
I am afraid it will be looked at as divide and conquer.
It will give more fuel to the fire of problems within the family, she ran away etc

-----------
This is simply not right. Why is Natalee's biological father not being provided access to the same financial support/fund as her mother and step father?

Dan,
The donation to the HelpFindNatalee@Comcast- did it go to Dave or Beth's effort?
As I posted at the time, it was established for Dave. It is run through a church and bank in Mississippi, not Birmingham. They are different funds.

Dave's quiet dignity throughout the unfolding of this tragic story has always amazed me. His faith in God is apparent; I'm sure that he is well aware of the "Footprints in the Sand" by now. Natalee's background shows in so many ways as I look at her many accomplishments and activities.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Dave and Robin, and with all of Natalee's family.

----------------------
He was just on TV the other night saying they (the boys) raped Natalee. Not sure when this interview was done, but I'm not certain how he can say he is open to all possibilities and say the boys raped Natalee as well.
Posted by: dave | Monday, September 19, 2005 at 09:56 PM
It is unfortunate that Dave does not have access to the funds. With his fair and equitable approach, he will be able to make more headway. There is the possibility that Beth's media blitz could torpedo his efforts though. He has handled himself amazingly well.

I just got back from Aruba and tourism is down. It was very slow compared to last year at this time. I agree with Dave that the locals should not be blamed for the actions of 3-4 (let's not forget about Pa Pa Van der Sloot). I send my prayers to Dave and his family and hope that some day this case will be solved.

Hope Dave finds out what happened to his daughter and the right people are prosecuted.

He is one of the most awesome examples of a true Christian, in my opinion. Being a father who has been through the worst possible senerio and yet remaining so calm and so kind. He certainly deserves a lot of respect. God bless you Dave Holloway and give you peace.

he has steadily plodded along doing whatever he could to find his daughter.
His out there digging in a land fill while others were on interviews...that's tells a lot.
Frankly i had just about as soon watche Kathy Lee gifford and her BAD facelift as Beth Twitty again.
they kind of look alike , don't they?
Well, watch for Beths movie deal and book deal coming up.

Thank you Dan for providing an update for us about Dave's activity in the investigation and the public comments he wanted to make. He seems so normal and balanced, and this is why so many continue to comment on this in contrast to some of the other things that have occurred. My guess is that people who donated to the Natalee fund expected that it would help support not only the Twitty's, but Natalee's natural father also. Why would Beth let Dave suffer so financially when there is a generous trust fund now that could cover his costs. Tells you a lot about a person, doesn't it?

It sounds like these families aren't getting along, and stop communicating one another. That's sad. It could be because of jealous. One of the spouses Robin or Jug could be jealous of Dave and Beth being around each other. This happens quite often when couples are divorced and remarry. Not only do they've to contend with the disappearance of their beloved daughter, but with jealous of their spouses. It happens.
I don't know about this case. Maybe the prosecutor is doing the best she can. I hope they find Natalee soon and put this case to rest.

More misogynist beth bashing. Why did Joran rape and murder Natalee? I guess that doesn't really interest you. You sound like a gossipy teenager.
Posted by: frank | Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at 01:42 AM
Frank - You seem to be overly emotionally involved. No, I am not a teen and I have a son that is 23 yrs old. If he were missing, and I had access to a generously funded trust fund to help support the family in their efforts to find him - like Beth has access to - I would consider supporting my sons father - my EX husband - costs to help find our son as only of the highest priorities for use of the fund. I could not conceive of not doing it. There are also quite a lot of other posters on this comment thread who are likewise surprised that this has not occurred in the case of Dave.

My theorie: she drank too much and had an accident while with the 3 boys. Yet, proof in this is hard to find so they remain suspects because they can't really prove otherwise.

I don't believe Beth Twitty actually manages the trust fund?? A Bank or Trustee is appointed and I don't believe Beth or Jug can just pull up to the ATM.
I am so stunned at the number of gossipy hatemongers on this site that spit their venom towards Beth, a Mother, who has had her heart ripped from her. Unless you have a child whom you love, to the moon and back, either murdered or kidnapped, you will never feel the depth of despair and anguish the Holloways/Twittys are living daily, hourly, minute by minute.
"Give unto the Holloway/Twitty families the blessing of your grace that they may face each day with courage and hope."
Posted by: westcoaster | Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at 03:16 AM
I don't think there is a person here that doesn't sympathize with Beth, but Dave has also suffered the same loss and he has not conducted himself in the manner she has. SHE is making her cause controversial by her own actions. There was just something from the very beginning about Jug & Beth I did not like. I did not get that feeling with Dave. And certainly Jug wants to show his support for his wife and stepdaughter, but many times he could have stepped back a little but he did not, coming off as a very controlling and transparent person.
I'm tired of Beth's venomous spewings on tv. I for one would not donate one penny to this cause unless I knew for a fact that Dave would benefit from it.

About those prayers, let's leave them out! I don't think they need fairytales to get through this. Believing that a God or so will help is just a waste of time anyway.
Posted by: Ath | Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at 08:17 AM
Ath: I used to feel the same way. I can remember the day I challenged God thru tears driving down an interstate, asking are you really there or am I just some nut talking to the clouds. I was sincere. I was broken hearted and sincere. Almost two weeks later, something happened in my life that could have only been God. He did show up and answer my heart. When you want the honest truth, God can handle the challenge. I trust He is still that big today. I have no doubt that Jesus is alive now. I did before. When you get real, so will He.

Deedee, let's face it: the bible is a fairy tale. It's all bogus. To find Natalee we need scientific evidence and scientific help. It eventually al comes down to that.
Believing that there is a God, is just an escape road people seek. But let's not dive into that; that's a totally diffrent discussion ;-)

Where has Jug been lately? I don't mean to imply there's anything amiss in their marriage, not at all, but when was the last time he appeared with her? I thought for sure we'd see him on Dr. Phil.
Posted by: kin | Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at 10:17 AM
There was a large story about Beth Twitty in the B'ham News on Sunday, and it included very pleasant quotes about her from her ex-husband. They seem like pretty normal ex-spouses. If I still liked my ex-husband, I'd still be married to him, after all.
And those rude comments about the Twittys are BIZARRE. Beth Twitty made it clear in the interview that she realized early on that keeping the media focused on this story was CRITICAL. So she did that every day, by taking on as many interviews as possible. You can see that little or nothing is happening now that the focus is off this case. And nothing may ever be resolved.
I disagreed with the parents letting their kids go on this foolish trip in the first place. But I see nothing wrong in anything the Twittys or Holloways have done in trying to get this disappearance resolved. If it was my child, I'd be screaming from every rooftop I could climb as well. Given the extreme stress they've all been under, I think they've handled it as well as anyone could have.

Nonbelievers treasure power, leadership, and ambition, but for the Christian, service is a high honor.
