I am ashamed of both of you for saying that. It does not matter if you are black, white, red, yellow or green, rich or poor, weak or strong. The dead people are someones loved ones. You did not know them and you do not care about them, but someone, somewhere did. Is that the way you would want one of your family members treated.
WHAT DISRESPECT FOR THE DEAD THAT IS.
I would drive the truck if someone would collect them !!!
I can't walk very well and sure can't bend or lift anything much anymore but I can still drive !
It needs to be taken care of now !!! Disease will set in and kill even more !!

!, I know you mean well but the first thing is to secure the place and restore peace, take care of the living. Dead people are not breeding disease like the water and securing that levee is of utmost import and I have heard people say things like "wasting their time with that levee..." If that levee breaks loose again, things get ugly again. Rescuing others is very important and besides, and I am sure you know, people are not buried in New Orleans like in other places. If you buried those people, they would go floating back down the street again.
The truth is there was not a lot of leadership there and nature abhors a vacuum and that vacuum from the 'leadership' in Lousiana and New Orleans was leaving a vacuum for crime to breed.
Even criminals need structure in their lives.

Mary, I felt I gave you an inadequate answer. I think Cindi said she is/was Catholic and this is very New Testament where Jesus calls on us to "let the dead bury the dead."
Does this miniscule expression of that help any?
"He's dead, but we're here--alive, but barely. And it will take all we've got to change the odds against making it off our knees and standing on our own two feet."
If I am wrong, I am sure someone will correct me, but that is what I always believed it to mean.
