NEW YORK (AP) - A suspect in the case of an Alabama teenager missing in Aruba admits he lied about the last time he saw her on the night she vanished, but he insists she was fine, according to a television interview. Joran van der Sloot, 18, was one of three men jailed this summer in Natalee Holloway's May 30 disappearance.
He talked to a producer for "A Current Affair" in Holland, where he is attending college. The interview is scheduled to air Monday.
Holloway was last seen leaving a bar with van der Sloot and two brothers, Satish and Deepak Kalpoe.

Once a lair always a liar. He knows what happened to her !! So does daddy & Deepak & Satish. All scumbags.

Why would stupid Joran give an interview now? Because he thinks he is miles away from Aruba? For money? Paulus needs money now? or Anita needs more see through blouses? I don't understand why he would give an interview to an American broadcast. And he knows he did something to Natalee, and the Canines K2 also know, daddy accomplice knows, the mothers know, unless they are dumber than they appear.
Its irating to see these people go on with their lives and Mrs. Twitty and Dave Holloway do not even have a place to light a candle and put flowers for her dissappeared daughter, which most likely and we all know is deceased. This is really a very, very unfair thing.

I lose respect (if I ever had any) for Current Affair for even wasting time on such an interview.
It's one thing to try to report both sides of a story, but when a person has shown themself to be mentally unable to tell the truth - - - - why would people purporting themselves to be responsibly reporting a story give this person the time of day?
Shame on you Current Affair.
All you did was put more caca out there.

Liar. Now he's rubbing our nose in it. No reason to lie in the first place Joran, dropped her off? She fell? What add details like she fell? Why pick on a monority race as your patsy?
"It was totally consensual". So says you. So let me get this right.
You and she are drunk.
She wants to leave with you.
You lie about where you go with her because you and your buddies "agreed to lie" (why lie when the girl is missing and her family is frantically looking for her?)
What a pal you are, such a great guy, a real gentleman. So you screw her and then leave her on the beach. ......... nice. A real sport
you are.
Anyone want to see a liar in action, tune in tomorrow to A Current Affair.

If Current Affair is going to give credence to this guy, then they better rush out and interview Hinkley. And all the other schizos and psychos and loosely wrapped fruit cakes. Not fair to just give one free air time. Better get right on it CA. Hurry. And while you are on there ask them how it is they have enough time to have 50 million web sites looking for girls - telling them he is 18 years old (when in June he sure was not), and yucking it up all over Aruba and his parents trying to push the hype that he's an "A" student with an impeccable record.
Current Affair will be a laughing stock. I know I'm laughing and wondering how long that tall woman reporter who has covered this for CA will have the stomach to stay working with them. She's gotta be saying what the heck am I doing this for! She'd do better to just take her brain out and play with it for 15 minutes. In fact playing with her brain may be more productive.

Any one think someone's already offered him a book and movie deal? Talk about PIMPING!!He's got to be the mack daddy....or is that the mack for Daddy? I just hope he keeps talking and not to his buddies the Aruban LE..but to the world.

wait..this might be a good thing..this interview..remember there are so many designs of voice lie dectectors...maybe with enough of this voice lying..can cull out the truths..if there are any.
But yes..seems a strange time to give a tv tabloid interview..money must hav ebeen right..
Guess we should look for the movie andthe book from "their side"
its all so strange..
Arrogance might be just what trips him up...

Interested in seeing who initiated the interview. IMHO if Current Affair contacted Jordan & he refused to be interviewed his critics would be saying "See, he is guilty." If he agreed to the interview then just read other posts for what they are saying. If Jordan contacted CA, then I would be wondering why with a capital W. I'll wait for more info.

I wish the judge would have permitted Van Der Slut ( I guess I mean Sloot) to go to college in America on his tennis scholorship I am curious how that would have worked out

Can the families of Natalee block any financial gain for this creep and his accomplice father based in movies or books? I can just see Anita Van der Slut typing away!

Well Bill it would be nice is this was nore than just hearsay...The wonderful dutiful sporting son off to the usa on a sports scholorship. Was it tennis or was it soccer? I thought I heard Flager University mentioned as the college and Joran would have thought he had died and gone to heaven... enrollment statisics show 3 women for every one male. The cost is only a paltry 13,000 a year...

Wow, there is a real hostile group in here tonight.
I am glad Joran is finally coming out and telling his story. I hope he will also follow-up and personally talk to Dave Hollaway like he promised to do. Most of what has been given out has not been credible. Transcripts that cops make up and try to get someone to sign are not confessions or legal documents. I hope he also will share any insights he might have about what may have happened after he left her, if any of his family has heard anything.
Good night.

What other judgement could there possibly be for a known liar? Like anything he could possibly say now would change what we already know about the pimp.
Posted by: mona | Monday, September 26, 2005 at 02:07 AM
I heard Current Affair has already been cancelled--must be hoping this will help ratings.
I wonder which truth he is going to tell as far as did only he have sex w/ natalee or did all three have sex w/ her--because if he thinks rational people are going to buy the orgy thing-drunk or not-she would have had to be drugged/raped to be w/ the k-bros. But my guess nothing new will be disclosed--just more "i'm innocent" "i dont know anything" "i cant talk about that because im still a suspect" kind of thing.
Juron should be proud that he has now joined the American elite in salacious tabloid-journalism pop-culture history which proudly include the likes of Michael Jackson & OJ simpson-the Guilty until Proven Innocent club.
If he says he thinks shes still alive but doesnt provide any reasoning to give any validation to that thought--I will scream. Nadira & Anita have both said that but then wont say why they think that--they live there--they should at least be able to speculate better than those who dont live there.

Hahaha, it's pathetic how every little, pathetic human being who believes Joran did it, keeps holding on to the so called fact that he might have lied. Whahaha! Hilarious!
It's perfectly normal to change your story when questioned. Things might come up which you haven't come across yet, like some details etc.
Moreover, any statement previously made will not count anymore so you can't hold on to that either.
Posted by: jensen | Monday, September 26, 2005 at 03:46 AM
It's just a matter of time now.
He is going to tell on himself, he just can't help it.
Remember this is the same guy who is suppose to be a "straight A student" that slept on the floor in the classroom.
Natalee's family just needs to sit back and wait.
Yes indeed, it's just a matter of time.

funny how some people thiunk joran shouldnt tell his side yet its ok for bh to go on every show imaginable and try and railroad other kids for the oh so terrible crime of drinking and having sex that they all wanted to do and have....
so its bad for joran to go on current affair yet beth can go on dr phil with manufactured evidence?
when did this place become scared monkeys?
Posted by: dada | Monday, September 26, 2005 at 07:50 AM
Why isn't the Dutch judicial system charging Joran, Satish and Deepak for RAPE as revealed by Deepak undercover and aired on the Dr. Phil show? These boys confessed to having sex with a drunken Natalee. Deepak said it was easy. It is obvious that in her state, which I am sure was induced by slipping something into a drink, was not a consensual act on her part. What an inept, arrogant, and utterly callous investigative and judicial system. Why on earth would anyone go to Aruba, or any Dutch protectorate, or Holland for that matter. The scary thing, is what type of investigation would be done if it were your family under the same circumstances? The only thing the Holloways got were a smoke screen, a pretense of duty, and a huge COVER-UP. The people of Aruba may be a nice lot, but the government and judicial system stinks. "Something is rotten in Holland" (twist on Shakespeare.

1. This is The Netherlands, people don't get paid money for interviews here.
2. Journalism here means being critical and open to all views. I will watch the interview and - if he's guilty - I expect to see Joran sweat alot.
3. Canada Goose: 'It is obvious that in her state, which I am sure was induced by slipping something into a drink, was not a consensual act on her part.' Dutch judicial requirs proof. We try not to jail people just because someone is convinced that... If Joran's guilty, he will be caught and put behind bars wíth proof.

Joran, Freddie, the Kalpoes, and the looser father Paulus are all living with a type
of racism. Its called " those stupid american tourists" . Arubans only like american for their
money - they do not want americans on their island otherwise. Joran, Freddie and the Kalpoe brothers have grown up hating the americans and taught by people like paulus when their gone
they cant do anything for you taking advantage of them. Boycott Aruba! or be taken one way or another

Liars lie to avoid the results the truth may bring. If he is not guilty of something, why would he invent an elaborate story implicating others? He is a liar and guilty of something.
His history, reputation, statments and old website have/had a very unsavory flavor.
Maybe the evil attitude he portrayed will eat at him from the inside; driving him to finally tell the truth. Maybe he will slip during one of his interviews and say something truthful.

“Obviously she was drunk. I had stuff to drink, too,” van der Sloot said. “She wanted to go with me. I wanted to go with her. It was totally consensual.”
Earth to Joran, if someone is that drunk it can’t be consensual. Remember the part about going in and out of consciousness? Please tell me that someone during this “Current Affair” interview is going to say the following: Joran, you have lied through your teeth about everything, including the night that you left Natalee Holloway off at the Holiday Inn. You had concocted the lie with the Kalpoe brothers and most likely Paulus Van der Sloot as well. WHY ARE WE SUPPOSED TO BELIEVE WHAT YOU ARE SAYING NOW? Also, you and the Kalpoe brothers have now admitted to all having sex with a girl that was drunk and that you claim to have been consensual, WHERE IS SHE THEN? You left a drunk girl on the beach after all you had conveniently enough consensual sex with a girl that was so drunk she probably could not have consented to anything. Joran, any other lies you would like to tell the world?

Folks,
The evidence has always been there to convict these jerks. It has been destroyed however with the help of Aruban authorities.
The classic cover-up game was played here allowing the perps to walk. Kudos to Beth Twitty for continuing to utilize the media. She understands that the minute she backs off, this case becomes an "unsolved file".
Aruban Law Enforcement know it too. They are continuing the foot dragging to assure that the priviledged sons walk free.
Shame on Aruba, shame on the "nice" Aruban people. Letting your government protect bad people will affect your tourism and your incomes.

I'm quite curious as to what he has to say. I just find it hard to believe that with the allegations that Beth says they have they cant hold these boys. Without the release of the official statements its hard to understand why they are free. What are the real facts? Not what Beth says or the VDS/Kalpoes say but what the LE actually has. Gut feeling says he's involved but my gut feelings haven't always been right. We need the facts.

?maybe the interview was in NEW YORK....they never said why Beth was in NY that I heard last night even though the tease was they would tell that why she was there.
I am trying to find out if Current Affair interviews are done there.
It would make sense that they did Joran's interview there and Beth's reply. But I don't know. Did anybody hear why Beth was in NY for any other reason than CURRENT AFFAIR. I can't believe she would fly there just to see him interviewed.

Posted by: sol rosenberg | Monday, September 26, 2005 at 10:39 AM
I hope he is having so much trouble getting girls and making friends that this is why he decided to do the interview. (Remember Dipshit Kalpoe, "I don't have any friends"). They are stupidly thinking if he goes on TV and does his innocent, sweet boy act that everyone will see he is innocent and his life can go back to "normal". I agree that this arrogance will trip him up eventually. It is sheer arrogance to think that all are stupid enough to believe whatever he says now after all of his former lies. It is sheer arrogance to think his sweet boy act will fool anyone but mama.
