I was telling some folks a few days ago that blogging is one of the lonliest things you can do - especially when you are getting started. You spend hours looking into a computer screen, check your site meter and realize you were half the vivsits that day. lol Then you write something you think is great and it goes unnoticed. And that's not complaining about where I've been or am ... just a fact of blogging most everyone goes through.
A post I saw today reminded me of something I did a while back when I was tired of not having any commenters. Hell, for right now I have a few I wish would just shut up. : )
Anyway, my buddy Steel made has a post about commenters today ... got me to remembering. So, go on, drop by and say hello.
Update: Speaking of talking - Ian has a new Natalee Holloway Chat up at Blogs For Natalee.

Is this some kind of a guilt trip meant for all the "lurkers." Lurkers only do so because they are scared or unsure of themselves and what they say. I bet close to every person that lurks has typed a comment and never was able to cross the active line and post it. Should haves and would haves fill the mind of a silent commenter

And some lurkers are afraid that they'll get chewed apart by others, so they remain silent.

Funny, I never considered myself a "lurker" I just really like to read what everyone else is thinking about! By the way, I have never been afraid of posting due to fear! Thats pretty funny! I mean what exactly could anyone REALLY do? Hurt my feelings! :)

By the way, when I have posted before (only once or twice) I was ignored. So maybe when Newbies post somebody should acknowledge them and allow them to be "heard" too! There, got that off my chest, I can go back under my rock!

Nah, just jump in Tracey. It's like anything - you hang around and before you know it, you're included in whatever group there is. But I appreciate the readers who don't comment just as much as any other. SO, whichever you please is fine.

Dan,
I am one of your everyday readers, Lurkers. True I do not always make a comment, but I do read it all. Sometimes by the time I have checked all the links for what you are writing about I have ran out of time to come back and make a comment. So I do want you to know you are appreciated. Thanks

"Gee, you look nice tonight, Dan."

Dan, If you prefer not to name names, could you provide subjects that you do not like? Or words?
Isanah always wants the truth. Cindi in PA, Isabell, ! and me, are tough.
Shari, Tracey, Sam and Kathleen,
You are all depriving the rest of us of getting to know you.
Every person has something to add. Everyone is like a different spice, flavoring the pot. Please post again.

This quote from above is the crux of blogging. If you are like the rest of us, sitting alone in front of your computer screen, join in the conversation. We are all going through it at the same time, so lets go through it together. Don't pay any attention to Cindi's wild language. She is really one of the sweetest people and if you get your feelings hurt, you will mend. Everyone has a story to tell, and everyone has a lesson to teach the rest of us.

Hey - I've always been a fan. Still am. But you banned me,Dan . At a time when the heat was high.
The written word is often misconstrued . Thats what sucks about blogs. Who hasn't submitted a statement they wish they could retract? Big loss. For all of us. I respect that. After all, it's your blog, Dan.
Still a big fan,--lots to contribute, but now just lurking. You're right,Dan- it can be lonely . But there are now others to take my place. And that's OK.
Selena , you've got it right. Keep seeking the truth. You are the best ! All posters should model you. Never give up. You are my only voice. God bless Natalee Holloway. Keep seeking the truth...

Dan - I'm a newbie (Recently learned that I'd been lurking, thought I was just reading. But then, it took me two days to figure out that this is a chat room.) I spend lots of time being confused, took awhile for me to post. When I finally gave it a try, got some really excellent encouragement (Res, Anchor, ncMom, jolari, sensible, calista, issy, et.al.) Gator made me present my certificat of insanity & take a personality test, but then gave a warm thumbs up.
Fun & giggles - that's what I like. Thanks! #;>
