Natalee Holloway's Friends Talk About Aruba Trip

Nine from Holloway’s high school at Vanderbilt.

Mountain Brook High School, the school that Holloway attended, sent nine students to Vanderbilt this year, eight of which went on the traditional graduation trip to Aruba.

Page and Allen calmly recounted the events of the night Holloway disappeared, seemingly eager to dispel major media rumors.

“I remember dancing with her for most of the time, and then an hour before (Carlos ‘N’ Charlies) closed, I didn’t see her again. She hadn’t planned on meeting (Van der Sloot), he just happened to be there,” Page said.

“That night was more hectic than others was because it closed at 1 a.m. There was sort of a mass exodus out of the place - everyone left all at once.” “You didn’t want to stand out on the side of the street, and we were all in one place getting in cabs,” Allen said. “We knew none of our friends would get up and go somewhere else, because there was nowhere else to be.”

“Cell phones didn’t work,” Page said.

Not sure I understand the comments about it being more hectic than other nights because it closed at 1AM.

Plus we know Natalee was dancing on the bar after 12, so how did her friends not see her again?

Why do the stories from the students just never make sense?

I understand what you are saying, we have heard different stories from every student. Why, I ask didn't they comment on whether they believes she is alive or not? I that instance of hearing the question, my first reaction would be, "We can only hope that she is, but more than anything, we just want the truth". I know from experience that that would be the first thing to come out of my mouth, why is that so bad to have reported?

This is not the case, no one can believe anything at this point. Nothing leads to anything. What the National Inquirer says is hard to believe. They write what people want to hear, what will get them to buy the next issue. Until they actually have names to thier sources, who knows? Facts are hard to go by also... we have been told facts, but nothing concrete... just hearsay.

In my own beliefe, how is it possible for somebody, anybody to hide a body this well in such little time, even if they had a month to do it. The more time it takes, the more evidence is left. With the sience we have today, rarely does anything go unseen or unfound.

In this whole case, I am lost. I study this information for a career, homicide has become my life, between school and work, I breath this stuff. And I am completely stumped.

Seriously, you Americans should be ashamed of yourselves, 100s of teens could've been saved with half the media-coverage that Natalee is getting. But they're not rich, beautiful or white enough.

Isn't this whole NH thing is getting old? Hasn't Bush started a new war yet or something? Oh no, I remember, he needs to wait for the new recruits to come in, since he hasn't got enough in Afghanistan and Iraq to find those damned WMDs..........

The sooner mom Holloway realises that her girl was the girlscout she thought she was, and that she was out selling cookies, she was getting drunk and stoned and god knows what else, the sooner she can get her ugly mugg from my TV-set. Tell me, why is it that the police on Aruba is being hindered in every which way possible? The students, who all had seen Natalee on her last night, were put on a plain to the US before the police had a proper chance to question them.
Then mommy-dearest goes and assaults one of the released suspects, with a TV-"news"-crew (I put news in ""-marks because I consider them more like scumbuckets personally, but they like to call themselves newsreporters).
WTH? Does she WANT Natalee unfound?

I think the girls did not want to comment on the "dead or alive" question because if you say something out loud somehow it seems more real. I don't think there is anything to read into by the girls not commenting. When I was 18 I would have reacted in the same manner--maybe even now and I am far from 18!

I must comment that I was not saying EVERYONE wanted to believe the students were lying. I'm saying the die-hard Joran fans who refuse to even think he is guilty usually say that the students are "hiding something". Now, if those people believe Joran's alibi was investigated properly, what makes them think the students were not questioned properly?

she is just desperate and no one has protected her.

while people are able to assume Natalee has been raped and killed, I guess it can also be assumed she is a runaway. If that is the case - she probably is not able to show her face with all the attention, even if she wanted to.

Draaideur:I've followed this case from the beginning.I would agree that it is getting old.Old in the sense that we have no resolution and very little facts.But don't mistake the word old with forgotten.The story is tired and worn,but not forgotten.

As for the students giving varying accounts on the night of her disappearance, my question to you is"do you remember being 17 or 18 yrs.old?".

Rest assured that they were all interviewed by the FBI on our home turf.
