This is terrible news. How can everybody blame it on Bush with this kind of information? I'm sure they will find a way, they always do.

WTF? Is the Blanco not just her name but a description of her brain.

I just read the transcript
what a joke
Why isnt the MSM publicizing this...

WASHINGTON - The government's disaster chief waited until hours after Hurricane Katrina had already struck the Gulf Coast before asking his boss to dispatch 1,000 Homeland Security employees to the region _ and gave them two days to arrive, according to internal documents.

Michael Brown, director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, sought the approval from Homeland Security Secretary Mike Chertoff roughly five hours after Katrina made landfall on Aug. 29. Brown said that among duties of these employees was to "convey a positive image" about the government's response for victims.

Flo, you out there? This is just what we were working out. I could't remember what thread it was.
I wanted to slap this woman.

Read the article. How disgusating !!

BLANCO NEEDS TO FIRED, ARRESTED FOR MURDER AND PUT ON TRIAL, ALONG WITH HER LOVELY MAYOR AS AN ACCESSORY TO MURDER.

You can never ever under estimate the power of mother nature !! Peoples lives first, power stuggle some other time if they just have to be !!

Sorry people. I hope the story about what really went down is know to the world !!

I want to know why all those policemen who left the city were given three months pay and told to find jobs elsewhere (on Saturday).

she is the brilliant one (eye roll) who told the msm that the military was "locked and loaded" and would be happy to shoot anyone interfering....yeah that helped things

thanks Dan, couldn't verify this earlier, its true. Clint the link:

Dan is gonna kill us!

Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco has been critical of the Bush administration's response to the disastrous aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, but, according to the mayor of New Orleans, her indecision when President Bush offered help delayed rescue efforts and cost lives. New Orleans Mayor C. Ray Nagin told CNN's "American Morning" Monday that he met with Mr. Bush and Mrs. Blanco on Air Force One on Friday and implored the two to "get in sync."

Thanks Flo.
Dan mad at us? Why?

It's horrible that Gov. Blanco can't even run her own state. The minute they knew that hurricane was coming, she should have ordered the mayor to use school buses and city buses to get those people out of New Orleans before Katrina hit.

Governor Blanco as of today, Wednesday, is now saying the National Guard are NOT authorized to enforce the mandatory evacuation, even though Mayor Nagin is requesting them too... So I say... Lt General Honore, Sir... the first forced evacuation you need to make is in Baton Rouge and get Governor Blanco and Lt. Gov Landrieu and all the rest of her inept cronies the hell out of Louisiana. Locked & Loaded... that sorry excuse for a governor doesn't have a clue what she is doing.. and more people are going to die b/c of it.

Its the responsibility of ones self to take care of him are her in a threat of danger.Thats whats wrong with a lot of people now, dependent on goverment. They chose to live in a place thats below sea level and knew it wouldnt stand up.they where told to get out.I live in a tornado region of north La. I took responsibility to build me a storm shelter. They needed Common since, use it.No excuse to use the word can't are couldn't.

Isn't this a he said she said thing? This is third person and Nagin can't even remember what options were on the table:

And he said, "Mr. Mayor, I offered two options to the governor." I said -- and I don't remember exactly what. There were two options. I was ready to move today. The governor said she needed 24 hours to make a decision.

there's no story here

STOP PEOPLE AND THINK!!!!!!Who makes these choices of where you live.Who takes care of you.YOU do, don,t blame the goverment.Thats what most of those there does, depends on the goverment, for most everything they have.As for as myself,I take care of ME.I donot depend on the goverment to build me a storm shelter.I chose to live where i do and i look out after me.I hear a tornado warning,i get in my shelter.I don't say i couldn't.

Now what you say

I know this sounds simple and almost redundant, but Blanco is and always will be an IDIOT! How she got elected is beyond me, but a re-election may not be in her future. This whole thing makes me sick. People in this position should not wait and see, but ACT!! HELLLOOOO, people's lives are at stake here. The time for "wait and see" should be buried with all those lost. Shame on this women.

I've been hearing various comments by US Senators/Congressmen, about FEMA and how it should be an autonomous agency... but as I recall...wasn't FEMA an autonomous agency, BEFORE the US Senate and Congress all clamored for it to be wrapped up into the Dept of Homeland Security b/c the all-seeing/all-knowing 9/11 Commission suggested it. Didn't they have to vote on the measure, or was it just talk and bravado back in those days that called for the merger... So now, these folks in Washington that all rallied for the merger..are complaining about the the extra levels of bureaucratic red tape that was placed upon FEMA, by the very merger they supported. What flippin idiots!!!

Your not getting it here,You got to have common since, you where told to get out, well duh.The goverment cannot sleep with you and baby sit.Do you need the goverment to wake you up in the morning and say, hello ,time to get up and go to work.USE common since here.Get the f-----k out.

Ron- I get it! People need to take responsibility for themselves. If you depend on others for your safety and livelihood there is a good chance you will be left up sh*t creek without a paddle.

Being a free country means we make our own decisions for bad and good situations. If the decision made turns out to be an extremely bad choice blaming it on the government or anyone else is just ridiculous. What a bunch of blame shifters. I know I wont hold my breath waiting for someone to pick me up and carry me through life and I don't think anyone else should either

Isabell well said, Now if we can get some more on this train of though are country will be great again.

They needed Common since, use it.No excuse to use the word can't are couldn't.

Ron, perhaps decaf or a few runs through Mavis Beacon may be of help.

paradigmshift are you with me are against me?

we're all just watching from a safe distance. ron.

Here's more proof that Blanco is a dimwit. She obviously doesn't even know the geography of her own state.
(Whisper: Would someone please tell these poor people that their governor forgot them, not the President?)

http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/09/08/katrina.forgottentown.ap/index.html

Poor hell, they had the goverment give them everything a lot didnt even want to leave on the busses that where brought there from churches from n louisiana because they had no A/C

People with nothing to hide, hide nothing. !

Dear Concerned Citizens:

I am a lifelong resident of the State of Louisiana and I firmly believe that citizens can make a recall successful in our State. It doesn’t matter that this is not a simple task. All that matters is that citizens are willing to take a stand for what is right.

If we as citizens do not take action now I don’t believe our elected officials will take our concerns seriously. We can complain all we want to about the fact that leadership is lacking. We can complain that our teachers are poorly paid, citizens are without housing, monies are being spent unwisely, and cuts are being made in the wrong places, but then if we do nothing I can only say, “We are to blame”.

The recall would send a very clear message to our elected officials that we deserve true leadership in our State. Citizens are a very real and powerful resource in our State. How long are we going to take the injustices exhibited by our governing officials without taking action ourselves? We have to act. I believe each and every citizen can contribute and make a difference.

Is it just me, or does it appear that governing officials are more concerned with the next campaign instead what is happening today? A Governor should act based on what the needs of the public are today, not on how will this affect my next election! A leader is just that, someone who leads for today, not tomorrow. Each and every day is an opportunity for progress. A leader has a clear vision of what he or she feels can make a difference. A leader listens to the people they serve.

A leader is what Louisiana needs now. Please check out our website, “recallgovernorblanco.com” and join with us in the effort to recall the Governor. Louisiana needs change today.

Sincerely,

Bush supporters are fascists. Democrats are weak for letting Bush remain in office this long. Karl Rove should be executed.

Fascism: A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.
