I thought that the words from the other female commentator (not Nancy) were VERY insensitive. She mentioned Natalee's body and said "whatever is left of it."
Poor Beth!

I am so sick of Beth Twitty. These news programs need to stop having her on. She is a liar who wouldn't know the truth if someone knocked her over the head with it. Believe me, I would love to be the one who did. She needs someone to interview her with enough balls to challange all of her lies and throw them right back at her. She is scum and it is all about Beth and her bringing in as much money as she can. She should be ashamed of herself for profiting off her lost daughter.
Posted by: Jody | Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at 10:32 PM
Jody well that might be a little harsh - but I really would love someone to have the guts to interview her and ask the tough questions - you know the ones that if this would have happened in our country - the media would be all over the family and the MB teens - and not just attacking these 3 guys - so yes I would love to see BETH SWEAT!!!!!

Jan and Jody -- Doppelgangers, kind of like the Cat In the Hat's "Thing 1" and "Thing 2."
Beth may or may not be wrong about the VDSs and the Kalpoes, but she is clearly a distressed mother. Your remarks (and there is only one of you) are cheap.

I do have a problem with how this case was handled.
I do think big mistakes were made in this investigation.
I have a problem with the present verdict of the judge.
But what irritates me is the extremely unprofessional way of interviewing by madame Grace.
Even if the profession she is supposed to portray is drama queen it is not professional.
And definitely this is not journalism.
And although I don't agree with the ever changing expressions of Beth, I feel for her. She has lost a daughter. There is hardly anything more difficult to deal with than the tragic loss of your child.
Last but not least, if anyone should know how faulty this great american justice system is it should be miss nancy.
Many of my black brothers in the US can confirm this the HARD way.

Jody and Jan, ( one and the same)
remember karma, it will soon bite you in the ass, I am sure. Also, I am pretty sure you are either Jurine, the cowering kalpoes, or one of their few friends.
Say what you will, but remember what comes around goes around, and these three are in for a world of sh**. Just wait and see. Justice will eventually be served. I just wish it would happen sooner!
God Bless Beth Holloway. I will continue to help finance her finding her beautiful daughter, and I hope this horrible nightmare is over for her soon.
Trolls, be gone!!

I just watched the Beth Twitty interview and she revealed that (which has already been widely publicized)the judge ruled on Sept 1st to release Joran. And that was what was expected to happen on or before Sept 4th.
She further explains that the Arubans took advantage of the catastrophe of Hurricane Katrina while all of the media’s attention was on the devastation to release the suspects without any fanfare. That is simply wrong on Beth’s part to think that the judge should wait until the media came back to Aruba before doing his job according the laws under which they live and give his ruling on whether to keep the suspects in jail or release them for lack of evidence.
It is not the judge’s fault that a hurricane hit the gulf coast and sure as hell is not his fault that the media was not there in full force to cover his decision to release them. That is an issue that Beth needs to take up with the media as to why they elected to abandon her fight at such a crucial moment.Would it have made a difference if the hurricane did not come?Would the ruling have been different?More than likely the ruling would have been the same and the media who had expert in law on said for weeks that Joran would walk because the evidence was not sufficient to hold him any longer.
Now as far as these so called documents that Beth claims to have,I would suggest she send those documents to a media organization who can have them translated and presented as facts instead of more heresay.Just because Beth said so does not make it true.It is time for Beth to stop spouting off what she and Jossy and her investigators have accused the suspects of and provide proof to the viewers and she can start by providing the proof that said such documents actually exist.
Come on Beth BACK up these unsubstantiated claims.Make believers out of us and not sympathizers.
Keylargogirl,
Some folks believe in karma, some dont.Have you ever thought that maybe Beth is getting some of what she has thrown around, yeah a littlle bit of karma may be biting her in the ass as you say.
Are you saying that if you dont believe everything Beth says without question then one is a troll.Have you ever been accused of being the sharpest knife in the drawer???Well have you???
Posted by: Mike R | Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at 11:51 PM
maybe the trolls are a good thing because OBVIOUSLY they're rattled by our discussion. If it didn't sting, they wouldn't come on and take a swing.
Now, WHO would begrudge a MOTHER for being on a crusade for her MISSING TEEN? Well gee, hmm let's see, Joran and Papa ran off to Holland like thieves in the night, and Deepak's back to his deadend job, and Satish probably just wants to hide his sorry ass...that leaves Anita Van Der Snout and/or Mama Karpool. Yep, the Crummy Mummy's Club. LOL

Nancy Grace huh.. I have never seen such a skilled and talented journalist.. What was her former profession? Dramaqueen on screen?
Im impressed, she sure made it a very heart breaking item. All people who can relate to that sensational piece of shit she produced on her show.. go figure. I can't believe the mother could keep a straight face instead of telling her to fuck off and take her act somewhere else.
And really..if you honestly think she shed one sincere tear for this girl.. go figure again.

obviously, you don't know much about nancy grace's background. her fiance was murdered, she later became a prosecutor. i think her concern for beth is real. she has been a victim of violent crime, not like most of you who spew your venom of hate. the only point i will concede is the fact nancy is a "drama queen."
Posted by: bamaguy11 | Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 04:10 AM
OK, Alex-give Natalee back to her family-then they will gladly leave your godforsaken happy little island and go home. THEN and only then, will Natalee rest in peace. ps.- So true, Vincent. The trolls (natives) are restless tonight:)

I sympathize with Beth Twitty and hope she can find the answers she needs about Natalee. But, to be honest, I have to be dubious about her latest rounds of accusations against everyone. If she has documents, she should show them. Claiming she has these things and quoting from them may be all some people need to believe there is a coverup, but, I have to wonder. It doesn't sound right. I think she's desperate, as anyone would be, but, she's making some fatal mistakes with these threats, if she expects this to ever be solved. I hope she is able to withstand these disappointments, but, it's painful watching her rant about things that make little sense.

I was glad to see Beth in the media. I feel for her frustration. Several boards back, once I knew the hurricane was going to hit, I knew the Aruban gov't was going to make the move to release Joran. I stated it on the board and took such flack for it from several people. And yet, Beth mentioned the coincindental timing of it also.
On another note, I always am the last to complain about people bringing up the race card. If this had been a white on black crime, the blacks would stage a protest that would be seen in the main stream media - and rightfully so. They unite at one voice and that's what wAmericans need to do. Why aren't we Americans (black or white) being more vocal in our protest in how this case was handled?
WE NEED TO BOYCOTT ARUBA AND THE DUTCH TERRITORIES AND IT SHOULD BE STATED ALL OVER THE NEWS.
Sorry for shouting.
Posted by: Shari | Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 06:52 AM
I STILL can not believe all the Beth bashing going on. Give it up, people. If you don't agree with Beth, don't continue reading about Natalee. She is doing what any other mother would do ... continue searching for her beautiful daughter. Now you tell me ... if you have documents saying that Joran admitted to having sex (rape) with Natalee at his apartment while she was going in and out of consciousness ... is this not a CRIME?!? If it was not for Beth and Dave and family continuing the fight, this would all be swept under the rug. We may never have answers about what happened to beautiful Natalee ... but it won't be for lack of trying!
Posted by: MBMom2 | Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 07:29 AM
What more proof of guilt do you need than a confession of a crime? How could they possibly justify letting him go???
Posted by: Shari | Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 07:34 AM
MBMom2
If I had documents that prove what Beth claims then I would produce the documents for the world to see to back up the claims that I made on TV.
If Beth has these documents and is releasing the info in these documents as she is claiming then she should have no problem turning them over to any major news outlet(sorry Diario does not qualify as major news outlet) for translation in order to broadcast the content.Perhaps if she were to make these documents available then her requests for people to not travel to Aruba will maybe have some validity to them.It is time for Beth to stop stringing people along and time for proof to be presented.
Posted by: Mike R | Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 07:44 AM
Yes Nancy Grace is a drama queen.
Yes Beth is desperate.
The bottom line though is the fact that all this corruption has been going on for a long time in aruba...drug trafficing...underage drinking...underage gambling...underage driving...but its ok cuz Joran's daddy was/is almost a judge and he's been getting away with whatever he wants too for too long. How does a 17 year old punk ass who doesn't work afford the lifestyle he once carried on?
His godfather, the chief of police ,let the 3 scumbags clean up their tracks for 10 days and then decided to retire after the release of the 2 security guards.Rumors of porno directors, the mafia, money laundering.....it goes on and on.
The place is corrupt...always was....and it took BETH HOLLLOWAY to uncover it.Anyone in Aruba knows to keep their mouth shut or they will be dealt with accordingly.
Would anyone want to go to Aruba or send their teenagers their knowing that they might DISAPPEAR and they will never be found , no one knows anything and no one pays for the crime????????????
I say BOYCOTT until they clean up their act.
We as americans have the power to do this very easily and it would also set an example for all the other islands who have a government and police department that resembles that of the old wild west.
As far as the hurricane goes...it was all about the ratings for CNN and MSNBC.More people wanted to hear and see the katrina thing.CNN and all the other channels ran whatever gave them the best ratings as the Natalee story was getting worn out.
I hope the 3 loser scumbags all get theirs someday and I hope nobody goes to Aruba for a long time until they can actually show that they know how to investigate a crime scene.
In fact maybe they already know how to do an investigation but seeing it was the chiefs grandkid they were very well controlled and the progress was at the chiefs control.
Did it really take 10 days to figure out the security guards were innocent? I don't think so.
And remember Greta asking Steve croes the tatto DJ if he knew any of the three? No he said.
Then Greta stating/asking....'So you just decided to come forward on behalf of 3 strangers?' Yes he said...
I'm done........BOYCOTT ARUBA or face the possibility you might disappear with no trace and with nobody knowing anything and with nobody paying for the crime.

Shari,
I agree,a confession should have held him in jail. But the problem is no one has produced proof that such a confession has been made.Beth claims that she possesses such proof but for some reason she cant produce the proof.HMMMMM,are we being misled???

Jody and Jan were right, sort of...BHT only rides the MSM wave to further the cause in finding her daughter. It's admirable, but expected of any parent whose kid is missing.
I personally think a member of some second-team news team needs to interview her and not ask just the walking-on-eggshells questions. I wan't someone to ask:
"What was the relationship like between yourself and Dave Holloway?"
"How was your relationship with your husband, Jug?"
"How was Natalee's relationship with Jug?"
"Do you know much about Natalee's boyfriends since you obviously know so much about her sex life (or supposed lack thereof)?"
"Are you being compensated monetarily for doing interviews with Greta, Geraldo, and company?"
Stuff like that...

it is unfathomable the comments that are being made by beth bashers. . . i support her 100% . . i do not see where she has lied or stretched the truth . . she did what was asked of her by the LE .. she backed off to allow them to do their investigation . . and what investigation did they do? they allowed "the boy" to stay protected behind bars for 3 months . . he was allowed visits . . he never had a hardship . . all the while beth is hoping for resolution . . being told rumor after rumor . . . she still has yet to go through the grieving process . . for GOD sakes . .give her natalee . .let this woman leave aruba and get on with her life . . i admire her and it does my heart good to know natalee has a mother that so adores her . . natalee is lucky!

Nancy Grace: Engaged to her dream sweetheart. She was in college, an English/Journalism major.
Her love was brutally murdered. Knocked her off her feet. Didn't know what to do with her life. Contemplated suicide (as many of us do when something so horrid happens) and then decided to funnel her energy into law.
When you see her relate to victims I feel sure it comes from that well of strength that carried her through those difficult years. She's been there done that.
Posted by: FloridaPatty | Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 08:27 AM
FloridaPatty, the whole story of Nancy Grace has been told for years, now--ever since the OJ trial. While most anyone who hears it feels badly for her, it has gotten old. In everyday life, if one of our friends were in constant mourning for the better part of a decade, we'd send them to counseling...with Nancy Grace, we've given her slap on the back and a TV show...
That said, I do think Nancy Grace is a class act. I just wish she weren't so glued to only one side of an issue...oh, well...

I'm just thinking here...
What would I have done if I was Beth?
I get to Aruba and boom, right off the bat I pay off a dude who gives me a name, go to the house and confirm for sure, this is the guy. His story falls apart. He gets arrested. I hit a brick wall what would I do?
I would hire a Dutch interpreter off island to come in and translate important meetings and paperwork.
I would hire an attorney licensed to practice law in Aruba but is off island. I would send my legal eagle resources out to find one.
I would continue appearing nightly on any and all news outlets that would hear my cause.
I would report things exactly as I heard them. There are ways to give information without giving all information.
I would not say "but we're not allowed to talk about that". (if you're not then don't bring it up)
I would want to meet with Anita and Paulus and since Paulus knows the law and Anita knows the kids I would ask them to be my guide as to what goes on with kids in Aruba. (I think they were willing to talk at first, most especially Anita)
The minute it turned ugly, I would find an international advocate (there is a source out there).
Now: I would regroup, hire that lawyer off island (sorry folks but anyone down there rubs elbows with the other team) and an interpreter and continue the fundrasing because answers are going to cost them money. But there is no price to put on the peace of knowing what happened to my child. I could not live with "I don't know".
Keep going Beth. I'm still supporting you.

Chinbeard, you sound like a "defense attorney". The questions you would ask of Beth are the same that have been used in the states at trial by the defense. Let's get the focus off the fact that these three boys/young men were the last (known)individuals to be seen with Natalee. Let's prove that Natalee's family is "unmworthy" of finding their daugher.

Beth hasn't lied.
Posted by: HootieFan | Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 08:53 AM
Chinabeard: I realize her story is old but I admire her passion. I find her rude to her guests and abrasive if she doesn't agree. I enjoy her show and her take on things. She brings up legal points that makes one think.
Greta, not sure what happened to her in the last month but I always enjoy her quesions. She is a lawyer first and foremost and asks the questions that beg to be asked in a straightforward manner.
That lawyer side to her does come through.

Chin - Beth isn't on trial so those questions about her personal life are NON-ISSUES. They DO NOT have any relevance to Natalee's disappearance. Those questions are the kind of questions the tabloids ask. Jug didn't do anything to Natalee and Beth's relationship to Dave is non-relevant.
You a little naive if you don't think there are actual virgins out there at 18 years old and that there are mothers out there who know that information as well. The whole issue about Natalee and Beth not having a great relationship are unfounded and Beth knowing this type of information actually points to a very close mother-daughter relationship.
Posted by: HootieFan | Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 08:59 AM
Do not be too hard on the Beth Bashers. Some people have never connected with another human being. Although they have love ones, it is a shallow relationship. I have known folks like this and it is not their fault, they cant feel the emotional pain that causes the physical agony, think Spock on Star Trac without the intelligence although like all of us it various.
Asking if it was their daughter or love one will get the same cold response and they do mean it. Some will eventually get it by life's experiences but most of them will not because they are lacking in symbolic terms, a heart.

Nope, Kathy...we all agree that Beth Holloway Twitty is a loving, caring mom who is only out to find her daughter (or her remains, even) and take her home. My reasons for wanting to question her about these things--the relationships--are based on wanting to know where NH was, mentally/emotionally during her last few days or weeks in the US. I'd want to know what her family life was like so that I can better gauge (to some extent) what behavior she would be likely to possess in a getaway like Aruba.
Also...not pointed at you, Kathy...there are people on the blog who think that a person who disagrees with one person's logic is a troll. That's not necessarily the case. A troll has no real side--they just like to cause trouble.

ChinbeardXIV: Good post, I like it. Roy and Another Observer: You might be hopeful, but hopefully you're not. Hopefully is not a word. Nancy Grace does not do her homework before airing, and that is a problem. She needs constant reference to news items supplied by the background staff. She's never been to Aruba, but she could have easily looked at a map before trying to explain where the Marriot and the pond are located. As for Beth and Jug, their information that is supposed to "shock the world" still hasn't been revealed. It's nothing we don't already know. Have a few drinks!!! Dave is the one I feel sorry for. Having lost his daughter is bad enough, but having to put up with the first wife must have been real torture. He seems well adjusted with the new family. I wish him well!

I have a very difficult time believing that after being so tight lipped, that at any time Juron made that statement. What suspect in their right mind would volunteer information that he had forced sex with her while she was in and out of consciousness? I don't believe that. I think it was something the police came up with. They are pulling straws, and I probably would be also as a mother, but I find it ridiculous. Nancy is after everyone. If you are near a crime scene, you are guilty guilty guilty. I feel for Dave the most also, patient and kind, and waiting for answers, trusting the Lord to unravel this mess, instead of all of the hoopla we are hearing and seeing. He did not want Natalee to go to Aruba. (And I am not defending Juron or anyone else, I just think this is the wrong way to go about things). Trying to drum up evidence, broadcast suppossed statements that make no sence, etc...... Let's see what Dr. Phil has to bring. Someone please inform us, the ones that have to work today.

HootieFan, those questions go way deeper than tabloid fodder. I think there is a lot of information to be gleaned from NH's relationship with her mother, father, and step-father. I'm not insinuating that she and her mom were at odds or that she was somehow abused by DH or JT--not even close--but I am suggesting the possibility that she may have been affected by one or more of those relationships, whether positively or negatively.
Also, as I've said before, the MB kids need to be questioned again...Granny has her cesspools and I have my questions for the MB kids...

Her relationship with those people in the days leading up to her trip STILL do not have anything to do with her disappearance NO MATTER WHAT. Take a look at the photos while she was in Aruba, doesn't look like someone with something on her mind. All those photos show her to be quite happy.
Oh good lord, now the MB kids need questioned for the umptenth time.....

How, pray tell, do photos convey what a person is feeling at "X" point in time??? C'mon, HF...a smile for a posed photo isn't necessarily the happiness thermometer that you're suggesting.
It's not very helpful to just start looking at NH from 1:00 a.m. on May 30th for answers. We need to dig deeper. Plus, the MB kids were in Aruba when NH disappeared--were you? No. Were Greta von Susteren, Nancy Grace, and Geraldo Rivera??? Nope. We need more information...

"What suspect in their right mind would volunteer information that he had forced sex with her while she was in and out of consciousness?"
Perhaps Joran first talked about Natalee being very drunk/on drugs and then talked about having sex with her. (separate statements)
Then two and two were put together and he was caught by his own admission.

It's like saying one of the prostitutes in the "Green River" murders "deserved" to die! The bottom line, no matter what, I'm sure Natalee went to Aruba with the idea of returning to the United States. With college on her horizon she had her whole future to run away to.
