Copy that, Dan.

Every American should own a gun. Al Qaeda and company make great targets for practice.

good idea, except Al Queda does not fight in conventional ways.

Bring it. My nephew's on that wall and that little kicker was wearing a Superman cape and pretending to be Luke Skywalker when he was 3 years old. Aunt Patty smiles, prays and sends loads of packages.

Well hmm. OK, how about one of those poultry catalogs, order a caponizing kit for use on the ones we don't get a good aim at?

Why does Al Queda warn of attacks????????

sometimes I think these threats that make many fearful & cause us to be always looking over our shoulder are another form of terrorism--none of us will ever be the same after 9/11 & they are effectively playing on our emotions-our lives were changed so much that day-we need to rid our world of these vile, despicable characters-whatever it take JMO

To h*ll with them. I am going to London in October, come Bin Laden or high water. If you let these guys disrupt your life and/or travel plans, they win.
And since I live right next door to the largest port in Europe, complete with refineries, chemical plants etc. (what a target!), London is probably just as safe as home.

@ kristin: to scare us. That's what terrorism is all about

"We are Muslims. We love peace. . ." Therefore, we will attack you. How can we deal with such logic. Maybe it should read: "We are idots and we love to pretend we want peace while sacrificing those we pretend to care about."

They want peace, but on their terms. Unfortunately, those terms are not acceptable to us in the West.
But WI Mom, never try to fathom the logic of terrorists. Terrorists are criminals and thus have a logic different from normal people. The laws of civilized society are apparently not applicable to them.

Granny.........yessssssssss, ax in hand

Every large city should have a woodchipper in the middle of town. Feed them in feet first and watch them scream.

Yuk...

The good Muslim people are the ones that will have to put an end to this violence, by reporting the "evil" ones. They are doing nothing to stop this insanity. JMO

It is understandale that many members of the middle eastern countries have with objectional foreign policy. It is shameful that their anger erupts in the decimation of innocent women, children and men that are not in uniform. They do not represent the decent, moral and upstanding Muslim people that look for peace and prosperity. Al Queda are streetwise thugs that care little for peaceful dialogue and resolutions. Their ultimate feeling for power culminate in death and destruction and no matter how many lives they take down, they are still cowards, and worthless pieces of skin.
In my humble opinion,
Canada Goose

be aware of your surroundings and always prepared (to act).

My thoughts and prayers for all the victims of 9/11. That includes us also because we all became victims that day. We also became survivors.
Sam

The threat is no less today than it has been in any of the last four years. That's truly the most concerning matter of all. It's amazing how many have forgotten that this is the biggest reason we are in Iraq.

Many of the residents of Middle Eastern countries live with this every single day of their life. I've seen photo's of mother's pushing their baby carriages while carrying M-16's to protect that same child should the unthinkable occur.Americans have never known the fear of regular car bombings or suicide bombers who hide behind religion to kill innocent people.

Not all Muslims are bad, just like not all Christians are good. All races, countries and religions have some extremist that need to be re-routed and stopped.

I pray that we never again see destruction and loss of life like we saw on Sept 11th. I also hope that we continue to stand up and fight for our freedom, coming together and putting aside all differences when it really counts.

Hell yeah frenchymon.
I am so f##king sick of this being turned into a political thing it makes me want to puke. !!

Vigilantism doesn't work. Ever heard of due process? What happens when somebody decides that *you* are a member of Al Qaeda? Would you support somebody using *you* for target practice? Oh wait, let me guess, you're lucky enough to be light-skinned, right?

> It's amazing how many have forgotten that this is the biggest reason we are in Iraq.

We are in Iraq because our leaders told us that Saddam Hussein had WMD and could launch them at us within thirty minutes. The causes of the Iraq war have nothing to do with terrorism.

That is like saying the civil war was only about slavery!!!! If there had been no WMD's why wouldn't Sadam let the UN come in and check...he got rid of them...JMO

Uhhh Dan?
I live in LA. Yes, LA - not the burbs. And believe it or not, we all get along pretty well here, it's a beautiful city. Anglos, blacks, hispanics, latinos, muslims, jews, koreans, chinese, thai's, nigerians - we got the world here and love them all. Yet, whenever I go back to visit family in the Midwest I am depressed by the economic disparity and racism that still exists in this nation. I can't even watch the news on TV there, it is so biased, full of fear mongering and divisive politics.

I am free. I don't own a gun and never will.

In fact, when my cop dad died in WI I gave his 3 sidearms to my cousin who is a police captain, to be disposed of - hopefully to be smelted back to hell where they came from IMHO. 10 years ago, there was an attempted drive-by in front of my house, thank God no one was hurt. What did I do? I went to the kid on the corner who is in a gang to put the word out that our neighbors are not the enemy. During the riots we filled the bath tub with water and got a phone tree together for a local water hose brigade. It was scary but property was damaged, not people. Property can be fixed. Life goes on, and it's a good life here.

I have had so many helicopters over my house guarding the city this summer that it sounds like a war zone. My guess is that most of the posters on your blog live well outside the sphere of terrorist targets. No one wants to bomb your house, so what is it all about, really - arming the nation against Armageddon?

Just who are you all protecting? and from whom? Last years enemies are this years friends. Saddam, Osama were our allies against the Soviets not even 20 years ago people. We trained them AND gave them their weaponry........so maybe our government needs to be a little more discerning as to who we do business with?

I am not a very religious person, but I do believe in God. God has the Final Judgement, it's not my job to seek vengeance on his children, however misguided they may be. That includes all the scary gun-toting, fear mongering Christians zealots in the USA, too.

Dan,
I think their are alot of things going on with our FBI that they do not want us to know. For instance, a couple of months ago in Anahiem, Ca. the FBI arrested a young man of Islamic descent when the local police were called to his home for a domestic dispute and found an arsenal of 157 high powered assault rifels with scopes on the ends. The FBI was called in and arrested him and he is on 1million bond. His wife who is of Hispanic descent spoke only heavy broken english said it was her husbands hobby to collect them. What was odd was that the wife got a call on her very expensive looking cell phone and turned away so no one could here her and spoke in perfect english all of a sudden to who ever was on the phone, she immediately had to go inside. Something tells me that the terrorists are coming up from Mexico than coming across our borders with Mexican wifes. He must have lived in Mexico for a while cause he could speak spanish as well as fluent english. It is also odd that there was no mention of this arrest or incident in the local newspaper. The man arrested was working for a bank depository company that picks up money from atms. When the company van the man had been driving was searched their was a new pair of black mens leather gloves. What person in Southern Calif in the summer wears black leather gloves? If there is this guy that they caught can you imagine how many more their may be just waiting for the word from their Al-Quida leader?

> I think their are alot of things going on with our FBI that they do not want us to know........understatement of the year but thanks for the heads up, faithful reader.

Funny that both the American Al-Qaeda and gun-runner you mentioned are from "Behind the Orange Curtain" as we lovingly refer to it up here in liberal land. I guess that's why they've been finding prayer rugs in the desert at the border crossings. It's been known for quite some time now. That's why I live by "The Golden Rule" LOL :)

Texas and Arizona can have them - they like guns. Unfortunately for us, CA provides a better environment to 'blend' into. No one here would think twice about a mixed couple like that. It proves that at least our police are doing their job in the OC, making good decisions, catching bad guys. I feel a little safer, oddly enough.
