There'll be a hearing tomorrow at 9:30 - the Defense team will be asking to stop the FBI involvement in the investigation. Could be an appeal of the earlier decision, unclear. No word on a potential hearing for the complaint filed by Kalpoe today. Apparently Beth did return to the Internet Cafe today, but Kalpoe wasn't there - that according to Fox News.
There may be another individual not directly related to the case who was at Carlos and Charlies the night of Natalee's disappearance coming forward in the next day, or two. That's unconfirmed but could break tomorrow evening via MSNBC.
If I hear more I'll let you know.

Dan, pretty amazing you are always one or two steps ahead on the news.

Sounds like they just filed a complaint with the LE, I think I read that they requested that she refrain and if not they would file for a RO. I'm sure she'd love to go one on one in court.

Wow, that is interesting, now another witness, and from C&C. Wonder why they did not come forward earlier.
Dan thanks for the video, it didnt work for me. That is probably due to my computer not being set up right. Also thanks for the link I asked you about, it's great...

Good Job Dan as always!!! Keep up the good work!

Actually, they wouldn't necessarily go to court. I know someone that had a restraining order placed against them, and he couldn’t see his son. The mother claimed she felt physically threatened. It would have been a long, expensive legal battle for him and he couldn’t afford it.
Would it be worth it for Beth to go through a long battle just so she could approach Deepak? They it would be good money for the attorney, I think most would advise against it.
I still don’t think they will file, they are just telling her to stay away

The lovely and gracious Arlene said that unless a threat was made, he does not have any basis since he is in a place used by the public. Tsk, tsk. Would be civil suit anyway so all she has to do is return home and be out of Aruban jurisdiction. Maybe he would like to come to Alabama and file the suit under a judge here. As we are told every fifteen minutes, no jurisdiction if she is in this country.
Now let's get back to why they were kicked out of Suriname.

I wonder if this has something to do with Beth showing up at the cafe yesterday? I do wish she would tread lightly and not go into the cafe. As much as she feels she must talk with Deepak, he is going to use her visits against her, which could very much so screw up what her attorneys are trying to do. Now she has gone back to see him once again today....I bet her attorneys are about ready to flip. It is crucial she follow their instructions to the T.
Posted by: kelley | Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at 12:23 AM
I would have choked Deepak if I were Beth...so GOOD For her! The irony is, Deepak will come out smelling like a rose on this...Imagine, all that we know about Deepak and Aruba will file and hold charges on Beth for Harassment. If that happens, it will be a day America should not forgive, and Aruba should see some "economic sanctions" of our tourist dollars!
GO BETH, we're behing you!!
Posted by: redpetals | Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at 12:32 AM
Kelley- Her attorney was on tonight, and said in no uncertain terms that Beth did nothing wrong, and that the charge of harassment was ludicrous. Another attorney with no stake in this case confirmed this.

Some have accused Beth of grandstanding. If you agree w/ Dan's comment that if this case is ever to be resolved (and I do), the American media will play substantial role in it.
Beth is playing whatever role she needs to in the media for the sake of her daughter. If that means supplying news outlets with "never seen b4 video footage of Natalee" then so be it. If that means confronting Deepak at work to maintain interest in the story, then so be it.
Beth, is obviously willing to have viewers perceive her as antagonistic or worse. She's smart enough to see how the game is played and must know the cold reality is that the media will help...limited to the mercy of its viewership.
Keeping even her most deeply entrenched critics glued to the story, makes it an easier for the media to accomodate her need to broadcast information/direction of the case, make appeals for support, and apply pressure on the ALE to make a credible effort in the pursuit of justice.
Why is it so difficult to respect this mother's personal sacrifices? She knows she's feeding herself to the wolves...again, for the sake of her daughter.
My respect, a piece of my heart, and my prayers are hers.

KoG,
Well put. If there's any grandstanding being done, it's by Deepak's lawyer.

Times like this, I wish I had cable. Hell, I still have dial-up out here in the boonies of IL.
Posted by: kelley | Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at 12:45 AM
KoGo.....nicely stated... My sentiments exactly.
As I recently stated on the prior forum, Beth's ultimate goal at this point is to find her daughter..Justice is quickly becoming less important as compared to her finding Natalee and taking her home. She'll likely do what she has to in order to keep this in the media and to find her daughter.
I know I would. Justice doesn't ease the pain. Knowing where your child is will however, make it more bearable.

Frenchymom,
Thank you for your kind (and appreciated) words.
I have read some of your posts and respect not only your positions, but your passion and sense of duty you have as a mother.
I'm grateful to my mother, and mothers like you, that are unihibited by anyone's criticism in doing what is best their child.
Stay strong/resilient...be well.

Thank you as well. You are kind. By the way, I got a nice chuckle out of your GWW and GWG comment on the "told ya so" page..
I'll bet my friend MrsJimi did as well!!

Apparently, Deep shit couldn't look Beth in the eyes when responding to her questions. Body language is 90% communication. If he is innocent, then he would look her in the eyes, show some compassion and be gracious, even if he had to withold information as directed by his lawyer. Good for Beth. What is this poor mother supposed to do? The Aruba justice department didn't even investigate the other American that went missing. Why didn't the police look into the landfill immediately after Junior told them he saw the body and recognized the suspects from the TV? There must have been a cover-up withPaul Vander Sloot and Vander Stratten. Beth is entitled to investigate this disappearance. She is a far better investigator than the Dutch. Dutch ain't much when it comes to gathering forensic evidence and chasing leads.
Hopefully, something will turn up. My question though, if Lori Hacking spent over 30 days in a landfill, and only 15 lbs. of her body left, what chance is there of finding anything of Natalee after 65 plus days? Both were about the same size!
BRAVO TO BETH TODAY!

No grandstanding at all on the part of a grieving mother, I would do the same and more if possible! Unfortunately the whole world have eyes on this case, and I hope Joran gets to come to US to "study", it might not be in jail, but remember what happened to Jeffrey Dohner or whatever was his name? They might find Joran's slimy remains someday in some thrash can, where they belong and the Kalpoes' also. The karma law: what goes around, comes around, and that will come around to all four of them and the mamas too! God Bless Beth the whole family, and Lord Krsna helps to do justice to them also, Hare Krsna, Hare Rama! And p...ss on Kolpak's complain and his jackass attorney. I am praying to all the Gods to send some signal to prove them guilty very, very soon!

You appear to really be in love with DAN..
Is he your son?
I heard last nite where Jug may need to hurry back Aruba because Beth and Dave are alone in Aruba now. Wow, in the beginning they wern't even speaking.
Dave does work hard in searching for his daughter.
He goes to the landfill and searches.
Dear Me, Beth has never gone there. Why not, I would allow her a day or two off the TV shows.
When her whiney voice comes on again, I almost want to say...not again.
I wish she would let her dear husband DAVE do some of the interviews.
I find it strange that so many here think N may be in the dump...yet the mother says..
oh no Greta, oh no. when asked about going there.
I think soon this will be a cold case.
Hopefully not, but unless something changes that it is headed that way.

Maybe it is too emotionally hard for Beth to look in the dump for her dear daughter. Can you imagine how heart-breaking that must be?! Please cut Beth a break.
Beth is doing what she does best--keeping the focus on Natalee. The whole family loves and wants to find Natalee. They are all going about it in different ways but with the same goal.

Ease up on Beth, she's her MOM !! No mother should have to go to the local dumb to look for her daughter, and if she avoids the landfill, it is probably because that would be her breaking point. She needs her strength to carry on this crusade, whatever she must deal with in the end, she can, but right now, she must go on. As for Dave Holloway, he too has my utmost respect. Men and women do things differently, its nature, he's the hunter! But I'm sure he stands at that landfill wondering if he'll survive this if they find her. For all of you who cannot give these two people a break, go away!!!
Deepak is guilty. I watched some of the news last night, and he's a bastard that should be in the cell next to Juron...he knows. I think it would be natural to say "NO I didn't do that" just as an off-guard reaction to Beth, but he couldn't and that is guilt...these 3 stooges will get their day!

With all the missing people in America, any anyone tell me why this missing person case is on TV every single day? Why do the other missing persons get zero coverage? And don't tell me it is the mother that is driving this, all famlies of missing people have the same desire to find that loved one.

"Deepak is guilty. I watched some of the news last night, and he's a bastard that should be in the cell next to Juron..."
What evidence do you have that confirms his guilt, just wondering if you know something we do not?
Posted by: Missing persons | Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at 11:35 AM
redpetals
NO BODY has to go away.
Are you the one to give that kind of an order?
Who died and left you god!
WHAT a rude person you are!
PERIOD.
IF YOU don't like what you read maybe its you that should get off the computer and go away...have you ever considered that.
OR, maybe you are where Beth is from and the women are bossy??
Posted by: Nancy | Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at 12:22 PM
Beth had every right to go into the cafe and do what she did! As a mother, i would do the very same thing indeed..Deepak is obviously guilty, he couldnt/wouldn't even look at her when she spoke to him! What a coward! IF he has nothing to hide, then by all means, tell what you know dammit. Beth has my utmost respect!!!!

I haven't seen that one. Thanks for the link. I'm so impressed that the bloggers here are able to come up with so much info from the web and sources, etc.
I'm all for any and all resources available to commit time and effort. If I were in Beth's shoes (which I thank God I'm not)--I believe that I would take whatever help is available, even if credentials are questionable. The more people involved, the liklier to fihd Nat.
