Natalee Holloway: Breaking News

Reports are coming in that Fox is announcing the re-arrest of the Kalpoes and an individual identified as "Freddie." That individual is known to me as a good friend of Joran Van der Sloot who allegedly stayed over at the apartments of Joran on the night of Natalee Holloway's disappearance as previously reported here and first here.

A news conference should be starting at 10 AM EST.

Update: Some sources are now claiming the arrests or interrogations are related to another potential crime with another victim and not the Holloway case. Also, it is being said that there are two boys along with the Kalpoes now at police headquarters. One is said to be an individual identified only as Freddie, at this time - the other is not known.

The two closest friends of Joran Van der Sloot are said to be the Freddie mentioned above and also an individual named Jamie. It's unknown if Jamie has been questioned in the Holloway case, or included in these latest developments.

The coincedence of time frames between finding "new" evidence and infusion of money into Holloway camp is one problem I have.

Every time the story died down in the media good old jossey (prehaps on the payroll or prehaps with other motives) unearths a new belt, or a new witness, or a new accuser.

The accident with NBC filming Joran in jail is suspicious to say the least. The law enforcement officer that allowed this is now being investigated by police. I bet results will not be forthcoming. I just smell bribery. I do not think NBC is that stupid or that competent. But Jossey from past experience knows how the system works in Aruba.

It isn't that I don't care. I lived in Birmingham, went to school in MB, and my step daughter was raped and the rapist let go by US court system. The latter gives me some perspective that most do not have. I f it were my daughter I would get either an Isralii or a Mafioso to do the investigation and correction. Both groups can accomplish the necessary that law enforcement never has. I am not equating us Jews with the Mafia although many US Jews were in th business.

If the same things were going on in US there would be a clamor for investigations of bribery on both sides of the question.

Waving a $1MM reward for information and arrest elicits thousands of false leads and liars in the US. It does in Aruba too.

Things do not look good for Joran. Even if the questioning is relating to other cases, the plan is to tie it into the NH case -- why else would the prosecutor care. I think the police may also put pressure on the Kalpoes to testify against Joran.

Regardless, Observer reminded us last night that Joran confessed to witnessing her murder and helping bury her. Even though the confession may not be signed, I believe it can still be used in court. Why are we still speculating whether she's alive or not and whether Joran is innocent when he's already made the admission?

Please explain intelligently.

While I think the blog is a worthwhile endeavor, I can't exactly see Dan rolling in a huge pile of hundred dollar bills from administering it and being on the internet front line of the Natalee Holloway investigation.

Check that ego log coming out of your own eye before you start criticizing Dan's :)

Islandhopper - To be honest with you, I never thought about it that deeply, franfly, I dont have time to... and I really dont know Dan's bio, again, I really dont care what career he wanted/had/has... I just strikly saw this website to be on top of things, report all news to people who care and give them the opportunity to have "grown up" discussions about the news that are reported.
I dont know what someone agenda is, I tell you what mine was/ is... when I heard about the Natalee Holloway case, I wanted to learn more, listened more closley and tried to stay on top of it... so I searched the web to share my point of view with others, who might feel like me and are so desperate to help! - I know that might sound foolish to you, and or others, but I those are my feelings.
In any event, - I look at other blogs as well and sometimes post there as well, they just arent as "active" as this one, so I keep finding myself here.

But in the meantime, I dont think we should waist peoples time by critizing other people here and just stick to the discussion on hand! I think its huge the brothers got arrested again and I think there is lots to talk about... no?

i contacted dave holloway with new information yesterday about a new possible person of interest that i met while i was vactioning down there the first 10 days Natalee disapeered.
i want to see if i could identify him as being close to Joran through photo proof.

Report says authorities uncovered "new facts and circumstances" So, yes it is based on new evidence. It continues on to say that the brothers were detained on suspcicion of involvement with "unidentified other people". We assume this is Freddie (FA).

Freddie was questioned before it appears early on in the case. It appears that they are finally putting this case together.

David Kock, a lawyer for Satish Kalpoe, said he was not aware of the arrest.

Sounds like Satish needs to find another lawyer, or its misinformation on the media's part.
