Natalee Holloway Witness A No Show

A man who claimed he saw a suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway driving with two friends the night she vanished failed to appear in court Thursday and has possibly fled the country, officials said.

The witness had been summoned to give sworn testimony in the missing Alabama teen's case, but authorities were unable to locate him and believe he might have fled Aruba, Chief Prosecutor Karin Janssen told The Associated Press.

Story here.

Figured this...Dan,about this typekey thing.I tried reading the discussion 117 thread and get a message saying my typekey account has been suspended? What' up with this? I'm not having any trouble anywhere else......:(

Jossy comes up with some pretty solid witnesses doesn't he...

I think they're all afraid of the Columbian necktie

Why couldn't they offer him protection or have police guard his house so he couldn't leave or be harmed -I'd be pretty scared for my life if I was a witness in this bizaare case

geez, how convenient...

This witness already gave a sworn statement. Odd he had to go before a judge who also just happens to be the one in charge of deportations. I would conclude he is frightened. All the witnesses recant after a period of time. Is someone intimidating the witnesses or are they bogus in the first place? On this one, looks as though we will never know now. Just hope he is safe wherever he is. Was hoping Jossy had him for safe keeping, guess not.

What's the deal here? This is last weeks news, is'nt it?

ALE was supposed to go find this person. They already have a signed statement from this witness but the judge wants them in court.

This is an ALE issue as they had this person in the station already, knew that he was an illegal alien, and let him go. Or perhaps they scared them off by indicating that he was to be deported.

This should have been resolved last week already. What's with the continued breechs in police procedure within ALE?

If they want to see him, sign a warrant an go find him!!!!

icey

The gardener did not want to be deported.

Typical Aruban police work -- good evidence comes forward and they want to quash it.

Another Observer: Didn't Jossy from Diaro say on Catherine Crier the other night that the gardener went back to him home country on his own? Maybe because his evidence wasn't quite "good".

little C: Am I reading the tuscaloosa article correctly in that Ms. Desousa thinks that a police statement, not subjectable to cross examination, may be admittable into court? That's a huge difference from America where we are entitled to confront our accusers.

What a joke this Aruban Government is!!! So for weeks all we heard was about this witness...why were'nt the police immediately pounding on this guys door to pick him up as a witness for the case. Instead Aruba decides to give him several weeks notice before issueing any type of mandate that he appears...yeah so stupid.....This is why
it is so frustrating dealing with the Aruban government...Maybe we should send out our Boy Scouts to take over they would do a better job!!!

Yes Leeza it seems so-rather odd huh

I like Atty. Desousa, but does anyone else find her frighteningly incompetent? Where did the Twittys find her??

Seems like a nice enough lady. But she strikes me as very insecure, nervous, often downright petrified.

Sharon-my thoughts exactly-let's hope they don't find his decapitated body in an Aruban cemetary like that guy

The problem with this witness and th others found by TJ ward is than none of the things they say can be indepedantely verified. Based on the assertion of this mystery witness a pond was drained and nothing was found. Now based on another witness found by TJ ward they are scouring the dump and finding nothing. Their should be some physical evidence that backs up what these people say.

well maybe she was in those places at some stage

RESPONSE:
Little C...truth is my first thoughts on this case was if she is dead...they might have buried her in the cemetary...truth... But then someone mentioned that most of the residents from Aruba are cremated when they die.....

Well this seems to be another item for Professor's "after the trial" corruption/cover-up investigation. How is it that they can pick up and hold "witnesses" for 48 hrs for what seems to be a kind of "just because we feel like it attitude", but this man they could not hold and schedule a court appearance for his statement. What does Granny always say, "what turnip truck did they think we all just fell off of." If this witness wasn't so important in the prosecution/timeline of this case, it would almost be comical.

RESPONSE:
Yeah, I am so angry at them....really!!I am now believing that this little Island is so corrupt in it's government... Evidence that would help put Urine and the Cow-pie brothers away has now conveniently disapeared from the island...Just like Natalee!!

Okay, so Jossy's witness hit to road and now he presents "possible evidence to the Holloway disappearance". Turns out, it's a generic black belt and his own investigtors turned it up in a site that has been repeatedly searched. I'm holding my breath about how it solves the case. I think it's long past writing off Jossy Mansur as another opportunist hurting this case.

What would the Aruba do if Bush said he was going to put in place an economic boycott of the island - if they didn't solve this case? My bet is Aruba would go out and find two more black guys to pin it on.

What a joke this Aruban Government is!!! ...

This is so true!!! The Aruban Authorities in bed with the Defense wanted this fellow gone. So what do they do???? Their talk of deporting a Columbian Gardener scared him and he left the island to protect himself or was he helped in his disappearance?

The lazy Aruban Authorities should have gotten what they needed along with Karen J. They have messed up this witness and should be held accountable!

That wouldn't be surprising would it...??

...Since there were aerial maps of where he lives posted on this and other websites ???

He was probably threatened to leave , or removed from the island by force ...

It looks like the posts by Melody on 116 have been deleted. Maybe its the Aruban/Netherlands "can't be used a evidence" if its been released to the media thing.

What a Joke..
They are investigating a murder, this guy supposedly saw the prime suspects digging her grave at the dump.
The Aruban justice system claims they want his sworn testimony and then announce to the world that they are going to deport him if he shows up!

It seems like they didn't want his testimony too bad or they would have promised him immunity from deportation and even citizenship if his testimony helped get a conviction

No matter what they say their actions are consistent with an effort to make him dissapear and not testify!

I should have posted my thoughts long before this....

I KNEW this person would not show. No surprises here folks. I wouldn't expect less. Sharon, nice post.

They didn't have to promise him immunity. He Saw the body dumped; he knows it's her. He's going to get big reward $$. He knows nothing of any mob, he's a scavenger, right? If he thinks he's got a whiff of that money he's hanging in.

They'll probably discover he was having a homo-sex-uall encounter with some notable in this case at the time he was supposed tto be witnessing Natalee at the Dump.

That's what I get for reading too fast and shooting from yhe hip. This guy just saw the car?

Maybe it's become Aruba aginst the world and he just doesn't want to help the prosecution anymore?

Don't you guys get it yet?
ALL governments are corrupt. Including your own.
She has been sold. There is no body, because she is not dead. The powers that PUT PEOPLE IN government pull the strings, both here and there. If you think about it, think about the facts you know of:
Two 17 YEAR OLDS and a 21 YEAR OLD pulling off the perfect crime? No way.

Now, look at Jossie. Rumors of underworld connections. He sends forth an armada of fake witnesses to keep the spotlight on murder and death, when, in fact, she was not murdered. Yes, she was probably raped by the three, but then Steve Croes or another tied to the "group" arranged for the 20 mile boat ride to Venezuela. Happens more often than you think.

My wife is from Peru, and I can tell you, it happens--on a regular basis.
ESPECIALLY blond haired, blue eyed women. The South Americans love them. (same goes for men-BTW-not that they are kidnapped, but IF you are American, blond, haired, blue eyed--you can......)

The government of Aruba is controlled by the powers that be...as is our own. Notice how "quiet" the FBI is? Nothing, nada, no palabras.

They are ALL riding this thing out, until the public gets bored (as Americans do quite easily), and that will be the end of it.

Courageous as she is, Beth cannot defeat the dollar cost that it would take to keep this thing alive for much longer.
She is a tough lady, and I admire her, but she is fighting against forces she cannot (neither can most people) comprehend. She will lose. Sorry to say.

Lose? Beth and Dave have already lost what is most important to them, their daughter, and the knowledge of her whereabouts. She has NOTHING MORE TO LOSE. I am beginning to fear for her safety considering Natalee wasn't safe, neither was the witness. Something is rotten in Denmark, I mean Aruba, to quote Shakespeare. Good on Beth for speaking with Deepak. He is fair game considering he has been let out of jail. Any mother worth her salt would want to question him. Beth has more courage than anyone I have ever seen on television, with Ed Smart, of course.
This case may never be solved, but sometimes things take time to come to light, some times even years. They need to send the RCMP in from Vancouver, BC that did the undercover work to convict Sebastian Burns from Seattle, WA and the friend that had his family murdered for the money. It took 9 years, but they got to the bottom of it and got the conviction!! Call the men in red - they always get their man.

I don't think they do have a signed statement from this witness. I think that is what he was supposed to come in for, so the prosecution could obtain one before he is deported since he is an illegal there.

What witnesses they have found. There this gardener witness, whose boss is in jail and the witness himself had a warrant out to pick him up because he is illegally in the country and is facing deportation. Then there is the witness at the Aruba dump, who is a homeless person, who appears to be on drugs when interviewed on TV (or maybe that is his natural state) and who makes his living finding things in the dump - land fill. Both would be likely candidates to have been paid to be a witness - not saying they were, but would be suspect, especially since nothing was found at either of these sites.

What would the Aruba do if Bush said he was going to put in place an economic boycott of the island - if they didn't solve this case? My bet is Aruba would go out and find two more black guys to pin it on.

This would be ridiculous. Do you have any idea of how many missing people cases that are not solved in the US? If this had happened in US, they would not have spent near the amount of time and angry on solving this case. Hundreds go missing every day and the cases are not solved.

Wrong witness. The misisng on said he saw the three suspects in a sitting in a car by the racquet club/pond at 2:30 am and that is why they drained the pond looking for evidence. He is illegally in the country.

I think this witness, the gardener probably was threatened not to talk by someone, perhaps PVS? he did give sworn statements, and was said to be a credible witness... he was just too afraid!!

Beth and Jug have nothing more to lose. If they take the rest of their lives following this and exposing nasty corruptness one person at a time, they do their daughter's memory an honor. But LOSE? They have already lost the most precious commodity a parent can have.

1. I don't believe Joran is being pressed at all in jail, I don't believe it one bit.
2. If this happened in the USA there would have been DNA found in the first day, not the 10th.
3. PVS told his son to hang out at camp cupcake till it's over.
4. I will NEVER set foot outside my country again. It's not worth the trouble.
5. The two 17 year olds and one 21 year old are not the ones comitting the perfect crime.
6. The perfect crime was the first 10 days of Arubian Brain Retardation (AKA coverup).
7. To Joran: I live in Florida, you are not welcomed.........

Has anybody thought that this guy disappeared just like Natalee did. Maybe he didn't flee. It could be that the same people who don't want Natalee found.
I've been following up on this case everyday and have spent countless hours looking at different websites/articles and I just don't understand how Satish has kind of been equitted of any involvement whatsoever...can someone update me ont this?

does anyone know who's paying for Joran's/Kalpoe lawyers? wonder what deepak meant when he said to beth holloway at the internet cafe, about the $250,000 reward, 'i don't need the money.'

ALREADY BEEN PAID OR QUILTY QUILTY

From the very beginning I said that she was taken to another island..Sold for slavery..I wonder if other islands are being checked out. By now the government should know she is not on the island of Aruba.
It is hard to say who is involved, but I will not point a finger at anyone..I happen to know Deepak, and he would not hurt anyone.
Been to Aruba twice, and it is a wonderful place to vacation. Will go back again.
