He has absolutely no remorse for what happened to Natalee!
Posted by: Taylor | Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at 08:03 PM
Glad the clip of it is up. Helps to see what they caught on tape.

Could it be that maybe he IS innocent and feels he doesn't have to go into hiding for the rest of his life??

He may be innocent but surely there are lots of other places he could go until things clear up a bit. It just doesn't seem like a very smart thing to do to me.
Posted by: TexasGal | Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at 08:25 PM
Out in public, not the least bit paranoid, Huhhh!...must be alot of prayer or protected or high on something or maybe I'm not thinking clearly, OR all of the above...I wonder about his younger bother Satish???
Posted by: *flo* | Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at 08:25 PM
It really isn't wise, I know Texas Gal. But if he is innocent he is probably sick of peoples' assumptions and having been tried by the media.
I tend to think if he really is guilty, then C&C would be the last place he'd show his face.
Posted by: WillUSayI'mMad | Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at 08:29 PM
The way Deepak slinks off to the right upon seeing the camera certainly looks like paranoia. He's only on for a few seconds, it's mostly the same loop spliced together 3-4 times.

if he is innocent then why not tell beth the truth about what happened to natalie?what has he got to hide if he is innocent?is he still covering up for someone, pvds?was he told to keep quite or he will get killed.

Wow! Thats one I did not think of.
And it happens all the time lots of places. Kidneys, lungs, liver...Big money. I read of a young girl from Asia, promised a nice vacation and big money for a kidney. (But she lived.)

*********************************************
If he is not guilty, why duck from the camera? Seems he is trying to hide so the whole world does not see him partying or looking for a new victim. His demeanor is of he feels GUILTY! And is really surprising that he is walking freely in the streets after his own friend accused him of being the real killer, this does not say much for the Aruban investigators. But then....what else is new?

One of your kidneys can save a life and is of little use to you.
Everybody should look into giving up a kidney.

How about none? Since none of us know the facts of the case and none of us know whether Deepak is guilty of any crime or not it follows that the best assumption in this case would be the one that isn't made.

1. Perhaps he is hiding from the cameras because he doesn't like the media attention he is getting.... guilty or NOT!
2. Joran did not sign the statement accusing him. The statement was by the LE - presume-ably to get Deepak to testify against Joran. There is no proof that Joran accused him, or if he did, under what circumstances. If he meant it, he would have signed it!!!!!
3. The Aruban investigators are following their laws. They are not using the media lies to try this case. They are keeping the real facts to themselves. If they had any cause to charge Deepak with murder, they would!

Has it been stated wether Deepak was inside at C & C the night Natalee disappeared? I know they presume he was in the car picking them up but I wasnt sure if he was at C & C's that night. I cant watch the video. My computer is too slow. What does the video show? It is kinda strange he would go there. Maybe he konws something and if the three boys didnt actually do anything to her, maybe they know who did. Or atleast Deepak does. Not taking up for the three boys, but what if they didnt do it and the real criminal is out there and Deepak knows it. Maybe that person was at C & C's Friday night.

When I read this, I thought about the "Bodies Exhibition", preserved human body specimens.

What gets me is that absolutely central to the apologists' defense of the suspects in this case is the notion that, if you
leave an American girl on a beach in Aruba, out of a population of 70000 - 100000 there are innumerable people out
at 2 a.m. who would rape/kill/abduct or otherwise abuse her if only they got have a chance. Yet dk, implicated in a
crime involving a heinous act of violece against a defenseless 105 pound girl, walks the streets day and night and
apparantly doesn't even draw a dirty look. Why doesn't anyone on Aruba go after this guy?

A little over a year ago. College friend of mine. Google made it possible. :-)
He was sinking fast and I was researching. Hadn't realized that it could work even if our blood types were different.
A lot of my frame of mind re: the power of giving as a way to encourage harmony comes from that experience. It was like a light turned on.

Guilty before proven innocent. Imaginations gone wild!Maybe the guy is a bouncer and they are checking ID's.
Satish's lawyer was interviewed and has dispelled a lot of the allegations of any major coverup and he even has proof the timeline doesn't fit. Read transcripts of GVS show last night.
It's a mystery but not a major coverup.

Rick,
Unfortunately, you have pretty much just summed up this whole damn incident as accurately as anyone could my friend!
Posted by: jayjay | Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 09:11 AM
Rick,
Unfortunately you are probably right, they won't ever find her. How probable is it also she could have been put in the water on the area of hte island where they feed the sharks?
Posted by: rogue | Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 10:21 AM
Maybe Deepak is exchanging curry recipes with the other guy. And before anybody accuses me of "racism", let me point out that Deepak is a practitioner of the Hinduistic faith, and that Hindoos LIKE curry and eat it all the time. Face it - the odds are high that Deepak is a little curry-eater. Would I be offended and call a Hindoo racist if he called me a Big Mac eater (I am American and love my Mickey Ds)? Hell no! I would be proud! Therefore, I call Deepak "Curry Eater" and suggest that in the picture he is handing the fellow with the headband a curry recipe. What do you think, Mr.Riehl?
Posted by: Harold | Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 11:59 AM
Sharks? A while ago, Tito Lacle was asked about the the possibility of Natalee being fed to the sharks. He suggested that the area was used by the restaurants on the island to dispose of the excess food and the sharks would then devour it. However, he also mentioned this practice was halted about two or so years ago and the chance that Natalee wound up there was slim at best. To answer the question, anything is possible, but the probability is being whittled by the day and soon the hour. I'm sure we all are empathetic to the family, as no one would care to be in their situation, but, sorry to say, at some point reality will prevail.

Friends and family have described the teen, a member of the National Honor Society, as a popular and bright student. In her yearbook, she quoted Lynyrd Skynyrd's song "Free Bird": "If I leave here tomorrow, would you still remember me? For I must be traveling on now, there's too many places I haven't seen."
I've never heard this before, it's very wierd don't you think??
Posted by: Kathy | Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 12:30 PM
Joran might know. She might be a whack job. I thought she took off before at 15 or 16 years old. Also, the MB group knows.
Posted by: rick | Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 01:04 PM
I don't find it weird that Nat would write the Skynrd quote in her yearbook - it's a popular song and I'm sure all it means is that she was thinking about leaving high school and moving onto college.....
Posted by: tt | Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 03:56 PM
Kathy,
That information has been around since the beginning of the interest in the case. I would not read ANYTHING into it...
At least 2 dozen of my senior classmates in High School used the same exact yearbook quote!!!!!
That quote popping up now is fodder for the conspiracy theorists to validate their insane notions that Natalee is sitting somewhere laughing at this whole thing because they desperately want Joran to be vindicated!!!

_______
Yes, the GVS show was good. I was glad to see that apparently there is hard evidence that K2 was home that night by 2. I am glad for any of them that can be proven innocent, as I've said before. (Thus the question mark at the end of my sentence.) And glad for their mothers, though poor Beth would not have much to go with if all three/four were proven innocent. That would be crushing for her. I hope the Kalpoes can get a better life after the lawyer has spoken up. Do wish they'd all speak up if it is allowed.

____________
Only in a country that does not issue search warrants and check the property of those last seen with the missing person!
There is some evidence of something or they could't have held him this long. Whether it is enough to convict, who knows at this point. All the lying keeps one wondering about innocence though, so hope Joran has some hard evidence of that for his momma's sake.

Ole Deepak, out lookin for some "good time". He is disgusting.
Posted by: anne | Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 06:40 PM
It's called a Seared Conscience. Guilty or not, he should have had the integrity to wait until all was over with. Maybe Satish inherited the integrity portion.

Deepak might have business relationships at C&C's. Whatever they might be, there would come a time when he'd look to resume those contacts.
