Damning Statement in Natalee Holloway Case Publshed In Diario

From a cable network news source:

Aruban newspaper Diario published what the newspaper says is a signed police interview with Joran van der Sloot in which van der Sloot says Deepak Kalpoe raped, killed, and burried Natalee Holloway.

The Diario has been reporting on this document for some time but have been accused by competing local media for making it up. The item was published verbatim today. Jossy Manur assures claims it is a direct copy of the police document, obtained through one of his sources. It has not been independently verified.

Translation of Declartion from Dutch: The suspect J.A.P. (Joran) van der Sloot walked with us (the police) a little bit further on and he declared to have suspicions that the suspect D. Kalpoe did bury the girl there somewhere.

According to the suspect J.A.P. van der Sloot, the suspect D. Kalpoe had returned to the girl after having left her sleeping on the beach. To our question to the suspect J.A.P. van der Sloot what he thought had happened between the girl Natalee Holloway and the suspect D. Kalpoe, he declared that he thought that the suspect D. Kalpoe raped and killed the girl.

Thus written by us, under oath made under our testimony, closed and signed in Oranjestad on June 13th, 2005.

I completely agree. In fact, I do not want to know what sources they have and what they learn. The information they can gather from these sources is invaluable. I would hate to jeopardize the process.

I'm as curious as the next person...but that doesn't mean I think LE owes me information at all.

Then again.....wouldn't it be nice to know if the Aruban polis know ANYTHING at this point? Looks like they could at least tell Beth - she is my barometer. If she feels good about the progress, then so do I. God help that poor woman.

Wasn't PVS's job as a judge in land management? I have read this somewhere, and heard it on TV awhile back, and that he had access to maps and things, and knows the island very well, cave, wells, etc. Does anyone else remeber hearing this. I read it as well but unable to find the link.

Art was interviewed on late night news about the belt and his search out by the lighthouse. I don't get very excited about the belt and don't especially think it will lead to any information.

But, independent of the belt, he indicated that new witnesses are coming forward all the time with leads, and he has had conversations that cause him to believe that Natalee is buried in the lighthouse vicinity. He said they found a body buried in the sand dunes this past year that had been there for years and that the sands are always shifting. One of the people he talked to saw some trucks our there - didn't catch exactly when, but some time shortly after Natalee disappeared.

He seems so sure of himself, like he really believes she is there. He also said that these three suspects didn't bury her - there would have had to be others to help. Interesting.

I dont see daddy vds covering or the kalpoes. He would only cover for his son and himself. He has given legal advice to all three boys. I feel that all three are involved. Perhaps, Joran thought nothing would become of the case and wanted to help his friends so he called dad. Maybe Joran doesnt wanna point fingers at deepak for the sake of inplicating himself. I'm with you! If Deepak's the culprit, why is PVDS not using his influence to persuade authorities they've got the wrong guy? Why is Joran represented by NINE attys and saying nothing while Deepak's free to file restraining orders and play with himself online?

PVDS must have a soft spot for Deepak to put up with all the rumor and innuendo and legal fees. Why indeed would PVDS tell all three to say nothing and assure them "without a body there is no case" if Deepak was the murderer? Wouldn't he tell Joran to stay away from Deepak, instead of hosting the mongrel the following night of NH's disappearance?

I have had a sneaking suspicion from the start that PVDS himself, raped and murdered Natalee. I sometimes think Joran's taking the rap because he and PVDS know underage (at the time of the crime) Joran won't languish in prison. PVDS, on the otherhand, would.

Anderson Cooper is just jealous that CNN didn't get the scoop on the story first, and Greta (exCNN) has been extremely successful in reporting the disappearance.

Rita Cosby at MSNBC had three talking head lawyers discussing the article in the Diario, and its possible impact on the case. They didn't give it much weight because it only showed how the three suspects were pointing fingers at each other early on in the investigation, confusing investigators on which one actually did the crime. I don't give much weight to what talking heads say because they have been proven wrong in other cases. So who knows. Has anyone heard of a confession similar from Deepak and Satish implicating Joran. It can also show that Joran (aggressor) is a back-stabber, and will do what is necessary if his back is pinned against the wall with real evidence. I will guarantee that some evidence has been preserved just in case if is needed to make it seem that Deepak did the crime. Someone is going to take the fall. Deepak told Greta that he is no longer talking to Joran after he was released, so I will think the reporting in the Diario is probably correct.

Beth's mother is coming to Aruba to be with her.

Aruban LE could have tracked down the informants if they really wanted to and caught them - they decided to give them ample time to skip out of the country and avoid arrest; just like they did to Joran and Kalpoe brothers. It's been a scam since day one because Karen Jansen and the gov't officals have something to hide and protect themselves.

The supposed statement is in response to a scenario posed by the police, as they traversed the beach to "re-create" the "crime". Obviously it is useless becasuse right afterward they released the Kalpoes.

This is not a damning statement of anyone but the cops, who leaked an irrelevant statemnt, fed it to a journalist and used it to heighten public condemnation against Joran VDS and the Kalpoes.

Incarceration of JVDS means that he is not accessible. He is safer there than if he was 'free' like the Kalpoes.

Whatever happened Beth, Fox, and a nation of others are determined to find a guilty party with no evidence. That is one reason I gave up my US citizenship.

I am WAY older than eighteen, but I do remember those days. Did anyone ever stop to think that maybe she was just very drunk, although, according to her mother she would never act in this reckless manner (but what mother would), get into a car with three boys, have sex with them, ...then maybe, just maybe, she choked on her own vomit? I'm sorry for what may have happened to her, but where were the chaperones? And what about her 150 friends? Where were they? Why are charges not being brought against the chaperones that were resonsible for her welfare?

Why did her mother say at one point that she would frequent the work place of Deepak several times a week, then when a complaint was placed changed to say she only wanted to visit that one time? I feel she is telling and chaging her stories as many stories as the suspects.

I don't know what happened, but I find as many questions into the trip's responsible parties and families motives as I do the suspects.

Just to let you know, I do have a daughter that is 14. I keep a very good eye out, but know a possible tradegy could be lurking around any corner.

It sounds to me like it was Joran who did these acts that he's blaming on the brother, and is telling police it was Deepak that did it. How else would he know the story? I'm sure if the brother did it, he didn't brag to Joran about it. I think they still have the right guy in jail, but they need to have the brothers in there to question.

Jossy comes from a long line of crooks. If he is privy to police info, could make a person wonder what is going on there. I doubt very much he gets his info from police. It sounds as though the investigation may have been coming too close for comfort for someone, as Jossy saw fit to start bringing up uncredible witnesses. Now the last witness that didn't show, was afraid to be deported, has reportedly gone to visit in Columbia.If he's illegal in Aruba, how would he legally be able to travel back and forth with such ease. Kills Jossys' statement that he's afraid to be deported because he's illegal. Hasn't stopped his moving back and forth with ease.
Now the statements about what Joran apparently said about Deepak, another police statement,is he trying to drive a wedge between the boys and why? If he keeps wasting the LE's time with empty searches Joran could walk as the date is getting closer. He's feeding off Beth, so that couldn't be it. And when Beth was interviewed regarding the senseless salina search, "well, you know Greta, anything is better than nothing. We're moving forward." I was reading this this thread. Where can I find the Jossy Mansur report of a leaked incriminating statement by Joran. My wife is fluent in Dutch. Diario is published in Papiamento, a creole-like spanish language with some portuguese influence. But the report would be in Dutch if it was leaked. Unfortunately leaked evidence is usually thrown out of court in the Dutch legal system.

I read the Diario article and it says it's a Diario exclusive and it's from an anonymous source inside the police department. Aug 11th edition if I remember correctly. Also in either the day before or the day after that report they had article about 17 illegal workers that were rounded up and deported. Elections are coming up soon. A public showing of support for some doctor accused of some sort of misconduct. An some pics of Deepaks car.

His car is one of those Hondas with the aftermarket clear light kits, a full ground effects kit and chrome mesh inserts in the grill. You would have to be pretty f%*ked up to think it was a taxi.

Personally I think it's a false statement released to freak out the Kalpoe Brothers to get them to turn on Joran. Because his father advised and coached him to keep his mouth shut. So you can bet your sweet potatos that the only thing he is saying is the occasional "F&*k You" to his interrogators.

Think about it..... if he said anything they would not hesitate to bring him before the judge on formal charges of whatever he copped to.

Voce, I agree with almost all of your scenario. Especially about the bump to the head. The boys took an actual injury and incorporated it into their story. Whether she fell or was hit does not matter. But, I feel that even though it seems they had a lot of time to work get rid of Natalee, daybreak would have come very quickly around 5 or so. You need the cover of black darkness to do your dirty work. There are lights everywhere and people coming and going at all hours. Where would you go??? Therefore, Paulus would have been in a frantic rush. So, why try to get her off the island right then? No one knows yet what has happened. Paulus does not know that so many people saw Joran with her. He does not know what a pitbull Beth Holloway will be. He thinks that his son will not be under suspicion immediately so therefore he bury her temporarily on his own property where he could watch it and control access to it. He certainly did not expect the girl's family to be on his property with police the very next night. He surely was in a panic as soon as he saw how it was going to play out. Paulus is now in it all by his lonesome. He does not want any of the 3 boys knowing anything, because they will talk. That is how kids are.

As soon as possible after meeting Beth, Paulus takes the body out to sea. No place else works. Any place else on the island and you run the risk of someone seeing you (there is always someone watching, you can bet on it) or smelling something, or finding something of Natalee's. Even tho experts have said she would have surfaced, she would not if she was anchored. he has to do it all alone.
I do feel that it was an accident, and that Joran lost his temper and accidentally killed her (manslaughter) and the K2 brothers are covering for him. Stupidly. Joran also does not know where she ended up because his dad wants it that way.
Wasn't it convenient that Anita Van der Sloot was out of town? I wonder what the dad would have done if she had been awakened and wanting to know what was going on.
