Breaking News: EarthQuake Hits Aruba

Joe Houston, speaking on behalf of EquuSearch appeared on Hannity and Colmes this evening and stated that the search is bogged down due to a lack of heavy equipment.

Apparently, while the group was provided with a donated Backhoe, Mr. Houston now feels that from three to four Bulldozers are required to strip off the top layer of the entire approximately two acre land fill to a depth of one foot down to the relevant dumping time period. That would be followed up in additional stripping actions in of 3 - 4 inch increments - within the depth most-likely filled during the pertinent time frame.

Authorities are reported to have already searched this land fill after a witness came forward over a month ago. That witness claims to have watched a group of individuals place what appeared to be a container with a female body inside, presumably in a particular spot, as they then, according to the witness, covered the body with a plastic covering of some sort.

Given that this search has now moved from said location given by the witness, to the entire land fill, it is only safe to conclude that a massive earthquake struck the tiny island while the world was looking the other way, perhaps searching for Natalee Holloway in Venezuela.

Sorry folks, but land fill aside, this is getting to be garbage time, indeed. Also, it was noted that hope may yet reside in an undisclosed report and unnamed witness found by private investigator. IN a last bit of irony, the private investigator, for once, had nothing more to say.

Developing ...but very hazy. Must be the light.

That land fill is larger than any two acres. They said a football field sized area needs to be searched. That is about 2 acres. It took 2 months in Salt Lake and they knew roughly were to look.

According the the witness - they should also have some idea to look here - hence a backhoe and not a bull dozer. Contrast what was said tongiht with other reports that ES will leave by Wednesday if nothing new developments.

SOrry, none of this is adding up anything as one should expect as a well-reported story. Perhaps you missed Sheppard signing off his broadcast by congratulating Fox on its great two months of ratings.

I have no intention of keeping people aroud this sight by pretending that nonsense isn't nonsense when I see and hear it. For those who wish to drink that cool aid (and I'm not implying you, Wayne) - there are alternatives.

Your story on Dave Holloway was all wrong, obvious you didn't see the report on tv because you characterized his comments about the witness completely wrong. Answer me this Dan: If you are so sure the landfill was searched before why did Greta say tonight that it had not been searched. Even if it had been searched, do you think anyone searched it throughly? Okay somewhat? okay, a cursuory search. C'mon. The facts as not reported by you are that a witness came forward FOUR DAYS into the investigation. He described a black garbage bag (not a container as you report) that was dumped by 3 persons. The bag opened somewhat as it was not properly secured and he saw blond hair and part of a torso. The 3 persons dumped the bag, buried it and covered with a childs inflatable pool (you generically described as a piece of plastic) Now, JVDS in one of his stories says that Deepak Kalpoe raped and murdered NH and tried to remove a tarp from a fishing hut to wrap up the body. They were unable to remove it and instead used A BLACK GARBAGE BAG. This was reported by Josey Mansur a few days ago. HE has a copy of the police report. Put 2 and 2 together. How did the witness know about a black plastic bag, an inflatable pool, 3 persons, etc. 4 days into the investigation. Circumstatial? Luck? Perhaps. But to dismiss as a joke. No way. To me it's by far the most solid lead they have in a cold case. Again, I think you're way off base here Dan for the first time.

They found the inflatable pool the witness described, but AS I SAID PREVIOUSLY, the pool was moved and pushed and buried 20 times a day for the past two months. The point is that the landfill witness described this and the inflatable pool way before any of this was known to the public. Coincindence? Perhaps. A lucky lie by the landfill witness that turned out to be true (Black plastic bag and inflatable pool)? Perhaps. But worthy of continued search in the landfill for sure.

The fishermen's hut witness is also said to have stated that the 3 individuals took her down the road toward the lighthouse and buried her. If this is true then she must have been moved to the landfill later by the same white truck, which, supposedly, LE has the license plate number of. Seems like a good plan would include finding this truck and following up from that perspective, if it has not been done already, before bulldozing the entire landfill. Again I would assert that if LE, including our own FBI, had any suspicion that she was in the landfill they would be there bulldozing along side TES who I noticed fro pictures posted at SM today, is also still staking out the Sloot residence. Some of those photos were pretty transparent.

There is a lot of pressure and a lot of confusion, but I do not want to criticize or laugh at those who are trying to help or who are actively searching. At least they are out there trying to find Natalee, which is far, far more than I or most others are doing.

Dan, put yourself in the parent's shoes. There are many places to search, including Venezuela, heck even the Middle East if you really want to make sure you cover everything, but Natalee was in Aruba and that they know for certain. She did leave C&C's with the three boys (lots of witnesses verify this in one form or another). Right now, they have to turn every stone on that island to make sure that they feel they did the best and most thorough search possible. I think they are doing the right thing searching the landfill.

I am sure they have sources looking in Venezuela and other places as well.

Now I ask you, why have the hotels not been searched thoroughly? If you say that Aruba is not the place to be searching then do tell us where specifically they should search and what you know to back that up. No offense, but I really think some of your objectivity has worn down. I appreciate all you do here, but this post and the two about Dave and Greta seem to have lost some objectivity. Just my opinion.

But they might be surprise as to what God will bring upon Aruba and them for this girl disappearing there in Aruba. I can say this one thing I surely want come there until this mess is cleared up. everybody knows what these five has done all over the world and they will never be safe wherever they go. Did anyone catch on to the fact that the "witness" that came forward claimed that the body being dumped was all muddy and the hair was all muddy as well....makes me think then how could he have been so sure or "know" that the body had blonde hair. Douse mud on ANYONES hair and you can't tell what color it is. NO WAY NO HOW. I think this "witness is BS but he figured what the hell....if they find her it'll be a nice quick hundred grand.

You can always take a cynical view of every witness and dismiss them as 'kooks'. But with as little to go on as in this case, it seems to me that witnesses coming forward should be taken seriously unless proven to be lying or some question of their character. Why would one not take serious a witness with specific information? Because the landfill is too big. What does one want, a pinpoint location by the witness of where NH is in the landfill? I'm sure he's pointed as to the best of his recollection. Problem is the waste gets moved and shifted every day, all day, by bulldozers. It's not that easy. As one previous poster pointed out, the landfill is more than 2 times the size of a football field. Also, that it took them 2 months to find the girl in the landfill. Everybody claims this witness is insistent in his story. Let's give it a chance, search the landfill thoroughly and completely, and then make a conclusion. But to dismiss a witness with specific information as a kook for no reason seems awful cynical to me.

Why are they looking in that week's trash at the landfill? Would the body dumpers have known where that week's trash is to go? And, would they also have wanted to be sure to place the body in the correct place per the date? This makes zero sense based on the info being reported to have been given by this "witness".

But even at this point there is probably very little he could do given that the Aruban authorities have screwed it up so bad. Guys, my observations.

Maybe people call them different things in different places but what I saw digging in the landfill is what I call a trackhoe. It can dig down about 20 feet or so and it is a very slow process considering the area to be searched. What I call a backhoe is a small tractor with a bucket on front and a shovel on back and can dig about 10 feet deep. There is no way that a football field sized area could be searched with either one in the next three years.

They need bulldozers.

I appreciate Dan's objectivity. He has proven how much he cares about this case. Instead of pandering to every aspect of those attached to this very, very reality TV-based tragedy that we cannot escape, he has the honesty to filter what's good from what's not being done in the best interest of finding Natalee.

The family could not escape becoming household names, not by desire, but, by necessity to put their daughter's disappearance out in the public. But, those who are using the case to advance their own organisations, or careers, should be susceptible to scrutiny.

Aruba businessmen donated the one backhoe machine to TES. Tonight, on one show the ES manager claimed they wanted at least 3-4, and on Greta, he seemed to demand 6. At least Greta asked him, "Do they even have 6 of them on Aruba?" LOL. He just kind of went, "errrr..." like "i don't care. WE WANT SIX!"

Then he said that the Aruban gov't won't concede to their demands that they find them and fund them. Greta eagerly asked, "oh, they don't respond?" And he had to admit they responded, but, with "We'll see what we can do." He interpretted this as a hostile thing, and petulantly went on with his gripe, resembling a 2 year old spoiled brat.

I think the TES search is getting to be more than a joke, and one that's not funny. PVDS denied them access to his property, so what do they do? They surround his property, searching the neighbor's yard, but, only towards his property, taking dogs, instruments, etc., and practically trespassing. I mean if they did find anything, it would be useless in trial, anyway. Instead of waiting for a search warrant, they seem to think it's okay for them to do whatever they want to do.

The reason that bothers me is that they're acting like the Americans that the world thinks of when they hate Americans.

I'm really turned off by ES right now. I understand the rationale behind searching the dump, and God bless the volunteers, because that's a horrendous job. But, their attitude and lack of professionalism is outragious.

I watched an interview with one of the searchers at the land-field tonight. He was asked why the witness was at the land-field. The witness comes to the land-field to look for scraps and stuff to take away. The witness then most likely would have seen something as large as a child's pool in the rumble even if he was not clear about what he saw dumped.

Dan I don't think you have to be invited to go to Aruba just go and volunteer. You are beginning to sound jealous and whinny. You have gone from support of the search to total putdown since they said Red went to Aruba. Is he really there? Not one person on this blog knows anything that is the truth. If they did Natalee would have been found, everything is speculation and everyone is reading what they want into it. Lets all play fair or take our toys and go home. Your losing people left and right because of all this off the wall stuff. Oh and by the way that is a trackhoe. Everyone can speculate about what is going on in the case or what the outcome will be, but I think that we (the media) only actually KNOW a very small amount about this case...only a mere fraction of what is actually known by investigators/family in Aruba! If significantly relevant information was found I doubt it would immediately be leaked to press for fear of damaging the case. Let the investigators do their job and eventually this case will be solved...I think there is too much media attention for it to remain a mystery.
I think both individuals in the U.S. and Aruba want the best outcome in this case and are doing what they can to ensure this happens.
I commend the Holloway/Twitty family for continuing until they can bring Natalee home!
