Just an FYI I also had a problem accessing this site for about an hour today. Typepad Access denied then authorization failure, etc etc. Also the screen came up for awhile without the blue side margin with the archives. WEIRD! Then just as quickly it started working fine!

The lead-off is a note from Ian, the blog host/owner, and it says

I received a lot of downtime today because of high traffic to another blog I host and for the databases I am using for that blog and this blog. My server company told me if I do not want to receive more downtime I should upgrade the RAM and consider moving to a server with a more powerful processor. I am being told that the RAM upgrade will cost a $15 set up fee with a $40/month cost tacked on the the current $150/month I pay for the server. The bottom line is I need the RAM in order to continue operating. I am being recommended to upgrade to a new server with a better processor, but I am not sure if I will be able to afford that. I would like to do that as soon as possible, however it doesn’t seem like I will be able to at the moment. I would appreciate any help that you would like to give."

I hereby announce my retirement from Dan's blog. I joined after Natalee disappeared, and I've been a junkie since. I've had 10 different anon names (post hoc ergo propter hoc, loser, crapload, come on, farko, dan, idiot, among others). It's been fun.

I should give my reasons. I am spending too much time on the computer. It is making me sick. I wait for responses from people; I look at 20 different news sites, reading all the articles. It is beautiful outside, and i'm losing a few hours each day. I'm only 25, and I want to remember going to the beach, going on jogs, riding my bike, or spending time with humans. I check my email impulsively. I try to study for law school, and I end up writing to all of you instead. It must end. Good luck to all. I shall endeavor the outer world once again.
