Reports suggest that CNN has made contact with what was thought to be a key witness brought forward by Twitty/Holloway family private investigator, T.J. Ward. Ward is a private investigator with the firm Investigative Consultants International out of Georgia.
He was recently praised and quoted extensively at Scared Monkeys from a recent Larry King appearance:
And I went door-to-door today in the racquet ball club and was able to locate another witness, who described the vehicle in question, owned by the Kalpoe boys, and they were able to tell me and describe, clearly, the car in question, being in the area and in the racquet club, around the homes, about six weeks ago, which was estimate somewhere after the 29th and 30th of May.
After she gave me a description, I went and obtained a picture of the car that was obtained by law enforcement, on the 29th of May and 30th, and brought the picture back to her.
And she was able to describe the car to a “t.” And what was interesting that stuck out was the taillights — who had custom taillights on it with clear covers over red lights. And not only did she describe those taillights, but she described it all the way down to the wheels of the silver Honda Accord, which very may well be the vehicle in question ...
Now sources suggest the witness, a Columbian woman, was later questioned by police, who stated she never did identify the car of Deepak Kalpoe. Also, the woman apparently only speaks Spanish. Her report to Ward is said to have come via a local man who then passed the story along to the P.I.
She is said to have spotted an unidentified car near her home approximately six weeks ago. As she's been looking after the home of a neighbor, currently off the island - she had noticed one car driving slowly through the area while on her way home from a minimarket.
Realizing there was an expensive Harley inside the garage of the neighbor's home, she feared someone may be trying to steal it. Although it was daylight, she was unable to identify the car but did notice its dark tinted windows. When asked, she thought the car might have been Blue in color. Now it's said she told CNN today the car may have actually been green.
She next spotted a suspicious vehicle one night approximately 2 - 3 days later but does not know if it was the same car. The car didn't stop but she remained concerned for the neighbor's Harley. According to sources, when supposedly questioned earlier on the issue pursuant to the Holloway Investigation, she thought she may have been being questioned as regards a possible robbery.
It's also alleged that she now claims not to have told investigator Ward she saw the Kalpoe car. Still later that same night, she said it had to be after midnight but she wasn’t sure, she saw yet another car slowly passing by; she noticed that the tail lights were clear as as it passed.
As the woman lives with two small children in a house on a cul-de-sac, she is said to be somewhat nervous as regards automobile traffic in general because much of the area is still under construction. When asked if the car could have passed on May 30th, she said no, as these events transpired after her neighbors left the island in early June.
It's unclear why conflicting reports are coming from the island in this regard.

The numerous conflicting stories given out by the suspects and the massive fruitless searches are beginning to make me suspect that Natalee was sold by the Van Sloots and the Kalpoes, and transported to Venezuela.
The best action for the family now would be to send copies of the reward announcement to every police department in South America confidentially and simultaneously. Do not publicize it--that would alert Natalees captors and they might hide her or dispose of her.
For that kind of money, those police officials would turn in their own mother. I predict that upon receiving the announcements, they would raid every brothel in SA. Then maybe Mom Beth Twitty would receive a tearful, joyous phone call!
Granted, it's a small chance, but one well worth taking.

It's not your money she's spending, either. If it is, obviously you know the solution to that problem for yourself. No need to tell others how to spend their money. And what's the exchange rate for never seeing your own child again, anyway? Because I don't think Aruba has met that amount yet - free rooms, dinner, etc notwitstanding.
As to having no evidence, Joran's actions are evidence enough. For the first six weeks I believed that it was just a big mess that would eventually come to light. No longer. Joran's not taking the natural steps of an innocent person. He's doing everything he can to thwart the Holloway's quest to find their daughter, and not cooperating.
It screams guilt.

I am not trying to be cold hearted here. I'm
only trying to look at this situation..not from
an emotional standpoint..but from old fashioned
common sense.
First of all..they have little to no evidence
period.
At this point into the investigation..other
then giving the Holloway/Twitty's peace of mind
and closure what good is finding the body/bones
going to prove? It has been 2months or more now??
Chances are we are looking for bones..and not
a body!! What is going to be proved by finding
bones? Nothing!
They are offering a 1 million dollar reward
for her safe return. Great!! And the FBI..
I'm sure will continue their research. But
folks like Equi-search operate on donations.
There are other missing folks who need their
services too.
The discovery period of this investigation is
essentially over. The case was botched from the
beginning. Yes..its really a shame..but time
to move on! We may never know what happened.
And if joran does not talk or admit wrongdoing..
he is gonna be a free man soon.

AnnaMaria-are you experienced in criminology and what exhibits itself as guilt? I think that these suspects and their attorneys are aware that a circumstantial case is being gathered against them. Aruba, like the US, does NOT require one to participate in one's own prosecution. Remember the jerk that abducted and killed Dru Sjodin? Everyone knew he did it, but his lawyer told him not to cooperate. It's what defense attorneys do.
Also, I agree with all the comments about "Jug" Twitty. He hit the ground in Aruba with his attitude that he would bully everyone in sight and get whatever he wanted. Where did it get him?

Yes, I agree with you Maria. They need to
send Jug home..he certainly is not good for
PR.
Now Dave Holloway on the other hand..handles
himself very well. Appears to be professional..
and just a hell of a nice guy doing whatever
he can for his daughter.

Maybe Joran isn't talking or cooperating because he fears being framed. With all the U.S. media down there and people like Nancy NoGrace screaming about Aruba's incompetency, maybe he thinks someone's going to have to take the bullet just to calm things down and get Beth and Jug to go home and being the only one left held in detention, he doesn't want it to be him. I agree with PinkCobrazz about the money being spent. I heard Jerry Doyle on his talk show last night talking about how far behind the FBI is in listening to tapes of terroists and yet they run down to Aruba and expend all this manpower for one missing girl. He also stated how many thousands of people are currently missing in the U. S. and nothing is being done about them.

Jossy Mansur is a real piece of work. He digs up witnesses and trots them out for the police and tells the media about his "witness" and then says that he has not idea of really why the LE is draining a body of water. Says that the LE must have something that we do not know about to go to all that trouble to drain that body of water. Jossy is a fraud and most likely evil at the core of his being.

Jessie - Do you live in Aruba? Do you know Jossie? You have made a lot of post which present him in a most unfavorable manner. Fact is, you have convinced me. I know nothing abut him. Where do you get your information about him to form these opinions? Just curious.
Posted by: shonane | Saturday, July 30, 2005 at 04:17 AM
But during the last 2 months (almost) I have seen people accuse not only a whole family but all the suspects friends of some terrible involvement without one shed of factual informationjust speculation and the excuse of an opinion. the hate posts againts the VDS family is more scary than if they were actaully involved.
Most of these posts that are so hate filled come from Christians, I think some forgot to tell them that the rules apply to them also.
I care about Natalee and the truth but will not cast the first stone until the facts are all in.

Katie, I have read your posts and I think more like you do than what may of the posters are saying.
PVS and his family apparently was highly respected until this situation occurred. I don't believe they just changed overnight. I am not convinced at all that PBS is involved in any way.
I agree that the boys were most likely scared to death from the beginning when a group of 10 people showed up at the PVS home at 3:00 am obviously ready to accuse them since they were last known to see Natalie. If they really didn't know what happened, they would want to make sure they told stories that would not leave a finger pointing at them. Lies do not necessarily mean that they were guilty of harming Natalie.
But still, what has occurred does make one wonder.
The demonizing and destroying of the suspects, with people claiming to know all kinds of things that occurred, is a lynch mob mentality.
At this point, if I was in JVS situation, I would not say anything probably since it could be twisted all around and incorrect interpretations could be read into whatever is said.

Now you're all slagging off the private detective. Maybe I haven't been following the news closely enough, but I haven't yet seen the basis for this.
About the reports of people seeing bodies being dumped. In case they are true, just wonder what would be going through those people's minds. Were they not familiar with earth customs? Was there not enough publicity for the case? Even if they were illegal aliens, there is always the anonymous phone call. This would have seemed like a good time to do something.

As a matter of fact, yes. I'm experienced in what constitutes the psychology of guilt. You have to take it as a whole, though, not the individual layers. The initial response is always one of denial, an automatic proclaimation of innocence. That's natural and may not mean anything other than true innocence.
Then the detailed explanations, signs of the mens rea come in, an offering of what Americans call "TMI." Specific details are offered to cover the actions of the individual, for two reasons. One, if the truth does come out (a body or other evidence found) the perpetrator wants those issues covered and dealt with in the least possibly damaging manner.
Two, it's the way a human being works out his guilt, consciously or subconsciously. Allowing specific details within his story allows for a partial telling of the truth, alleviating to some degree whatever feelings of internal turmoil exist. It's a way for the person to rationalize and process what took place.
And that is only the beginning of the whole picture...

AnnaMaria:If you come back by and read this, I just want to say thanks for the response. You really are VERY knowledgable. I still think that to this point his actions are more the result of legal advice that personal concern. He may truly be guilty, for sure, but he also just may be trying to protect himself in a case that is to this point completely circumstantial.

I am so sick and tired of all the cover-up BS. Joran van der sloot and the kalpoe are NOT important!!!!
Do you people really think that the gov. is willing to risk everything for them?? HELL NO!!
I am also sick and tired of hearing that the van der sloot family are rich( what a shipload of c...)and that paul is a judge( He is not, cuz he failed his exam). And don't get me started about FOX!! OMG. Let's say 80% of what they were saying was BS. We were just shock at the things they were saying about Aruba and it look almost as if it was a joke. They are the ones who started with the race card issue, also about a possible coverups( becuase they didn't understand our laws)
we( arubians) know the reason why they didn't take this case serious in the beginning(because we all thought that this is just another case of a tourist who did not want to go back home. But we soon learn that that is not the case!!And one more thing: Do you people really think that our gov.wants to cover this up while it's costing A LOT of money!!! Yes, the H/T stays in Aruba for FREE! They eat, drink and sleep in the hotel for free!!( with our tax money)Butthat is not really a
problem for us,cuz we understand that she wants to find her daughter and we support her and if she wants to stay here then she can stay as long as she wants to!! And also that white slavery thing is soooooooo funny and at the same time very sad, cuz we can not understand why people came up with that ridiculous story. If that was true then more than half of our women would have already been put in that slavery, cuz most of them are white!!!! So , people pls don't believe everything you see on tv and aslo excuse my english. And will not sink to the level of americans who have called us names. I will jsut say that we should pray for natalee and her friends and family instead os bashing eachother.
love and peace,
Aruban

Jossy background post from an aruban on the zoo:
"Gabriel Leo Says:

Jossy Mansur is a man that has been black listed by the US government. He is not allowed to enter the US because he is accused by the US to be involved in money laundry. He is from Lebanon. Jossy Mansur has been denied several times a US-Visa because of his actions. He is stronlgy against the present government because the government is stopping all of his actions towards Money Laundrying. The last person to say when Jorge Pesquera should or should not speak is this man.
Because the government has been such a problem for him (disturbing his actions) he tries to paint the Aruban Government and it’s people black. That’s why he appears on a regular basis on the Nancy Grace."
This has been confirmed from other sources. Jossy is persona non grata for US visa purposes. Not a very nice friend.
