Where Is Cheryl Ann Magner?

I have been holding off on linking this per the requests of several people. I simply haven't been able to come up with any solid information - and was afraid it was a hoax.

Recent emails with regular reader and pain in the but MJH assure me she has spoken to authorities and had contact with a family member. Other individuals have since emailed confirmations, too. I also saw Glenn Reynolds linked it today. It appears as this is legit. A young woman has gone missing and there isn't a hint of news coverage.

It seems there isn't alot of information about this missing young girl. I think the parents need to give the public/internet more information regarding their daughter. I agree with !

They need to contact people from the media, as well, creating a website for her on the internet could bring some focus to this missing person case.

I can't remember the name of the group that helped Laci Peterson's family. The woman that is spokes person for that group was Laci's mom's spokesperson. Perhaps someone knows who I am talking about. I tried to do a search but as I haven't followed that case for some time it has completely left me.

She was on her way to her job. Nothing sinister about this girl

The family is completely devistated and feel completely lost and helpless.

People react differently.

I have watched the attention for this grow literally overnight.

If the family can't do it, perhaps the community can?

A fire batallion chief all the way up in Santa Rosa is printing and posting flyers to post all over Sonoma County (god bless him) and another reader from here posted CA's photo in her store in CA's hometown of San Rafael today.

So all we can do is pray

I have placed two notices on the craigs list webpages for the san francisco and marin areas. The posts will appear in all of the greater bay area. I know they have a ton of people viewing and visiting the craigs list page everyday. This is extremely disconcerting, I live very near by and had heard nothing about this. Mrs. JH, do you know what they have done so far? Did this girl have a boyfriend or male acquaintance that took a special interest in her? Has her friend that saw her last been able to give any information that may give someone a lead as to where else to consider she may have gone? Who was the person that saw her leave for work? Was it the friend? Are your local news stations giving out any information that may be useful? The craig entry said she was missing since early June. Does anyone even know what date she was first reported missing? Did she live at home or in an apartment or school dorm? We really don't have much info, do we?

She is a lovely young girl.

I have spent alot of time on websites defending the reputations of female victims and their families-- It's amazing how these people are attacked. For what?

In my case I have been advised to stop following crime cases because it 'messes' with my head. I have been the victim of some crimes- terrifying and gut-wrenching psychologically, but have
escaped physically unharmed. Hence, I suppose, my fascination with these things. I don't think I would be able to actually interact with people who find themselves in these godawful situations and actually try to help them.

You are a special person to be able to extend yourself so far to people in such straits. It takes a strong and very compassionate person.

hello....i am cheryl's aunt. i know everyone has alot of questions and i will try to answer as many as i can. i know everyone is wondering why they haven't heard about this before now. i wanted to put this up right away but my sister was trying to go along with what the police were saying and she was worried that if this were all over the news then cheryl might be in more danger. it was not a call i would make, but i am infinitely more bossy than she is and she was pretty overwhelmed at the time. if there is one thing i have learned from this horrible experience is that you never really know how you are going to feel or act when something like this happens.i don't know how my poor sister is even walking at this point. i don't think she has really slept in weeks.
and i think alot of the hesitation in making this really public was that then she would have to admit that there was really something wrong. this is not like cheryl. she is a very sweet girl. yes, she's 17,and so at times icky.but [and for all of you that have tennagers you know what i mean] NORMALLY icky. that's just the territory with a teenage girl. but there were no arguments,and she just vanished without taking anything with her. anyone that knows cheryl[our dear little packrat] knows that to part her from her treasures is almost impossible. till now.
i have already seen people on other sites speculating that she may be a runaway. i think that's what my sister was afraid people would think and just blow it off...that's the police's position. yes, they have been helpful....BUT.
could she be a runaway? at this point that's what we are left HOPING for. and that is a sad place to be.but neither her mother or i think that is the case. she did have a couple of less than savory "friends"...girls who say/ claim that they have not heard from her. after 6 weeks or so this seems more and more likely.the police have talked to them and nothing. so my sister is left looking through baby pictures and wondering when or if she will ever see cheryl again.
to give you an idea of how devastating this is for a family i can tell you this. when i put this up on my site yesterday my sister called me in tears. she had just looked at it, and she said "god, now i KNOW this is really real. cheryl is gone, and i feel like i am looking at an illuminated milk carton"
until that point she was really hoping that cheryl would just walk in the door.

Can you go onto giving details of precise things that happened to your neice the very day that she went missing? Or is this in jeopardy of LE investigations?

She was going to work on June 22? She never returned home. This seems to be all that viewers know at this point.

Why has your sister not pushed further into what has happened to Cheryl, until now. I know that you feel it was because she was hoping she would just walk in the door. If your sister is feeling any kind of guilt she needs to stop beating herself up and get on with what is important and start the search through every avenue she has.

Why are the police not helping her in this with passing onto her support groups, media, etc.?

7 was she walking.riding a bus. driving when she went missing

8 where was she going when she went mising

9 what time of day did she go mising

10 what prompted the family to label her as mising? was she expected back from some where and didnt show up?

11 what was she wearing

12 does she have a cellphone/pager

13 does she have a credit card or how much money does she have

14 have you searched her room

15 does she have a diary if so have you all read it

16 what kind of music does she like(insight intoi her personality)

17 who are her favorite movie stars(another insight into her personality

18 is she anorexic/bulemic?

19 what are her favorite foods

20 any new friends in her life

21 what kind of religion is she( just to make sure she hanst joined a cult)

22 who are the sexual predators in the neighborhood she lives or work?

I had a good friend whose teenage niece came up missing.. They automatically thought she was a run away. They finally found her car on the side of a road. Come to find out, she was killed along with one or two others in our city by a sexual predator who had not registered with the county. i am sorry to hear that. i have a good friend here in marin who is a psychologist and she deals with a lot of at risk kids.

in one town the local PD refuse to help her at all w/ the at risk kids. they will not do any type of intervention or contact the LE in SF (where most of the kids run to around here) nothing. it is so frustrating to her that she is suing this police force and has quit taking people who live in the city limits.

now on the other hand they assume most kids in this area are rich so mommy and daddy will take care of it. SO IS THAT WHY ONE KID JUST HUNG HIMSELF IN A NEARBY PARK? INTERESTING......

the kids here are no different than anywhere else, money or no money and LE are supposed to serve and protect

on the other hand as they say they cannot do everything.

so there is a dilema!!!

Dan is a friend of mine and I asked him to put up a link to this since there's so much traffic here, not because I expected him to start working this situation like he has been with Natalee. As it is, he's got a real-world full time job PLUS running this site (keeping the Natalee updates going) in all of his non-work hours. All I'm saying is, unless Dan asks outright to take this on, please don't give him more work to do.

Because he put it up, there have been several people (MJH, Mill Valley Mom, etc.) from here who have been able to help out tremendously--which is unbelievably AWESOME! Not to mention the more widespread visibility he can give this, compared to my site. That said, I specifically said to him "God knows I'm not asking you to take this on like you are doing with Natalee, but can you give her a mention?" I mean he IS only one guy, and can't exactly quit his job to do this full-time. Just sayin'.

and this is not true either. i will tell you of two examples here in marin. one involving marin county sherifs, the other CHP b/c it took place on the freeway and these are T R U E stories

1. once at the old Cal Fed (now shittybank) in millvalley/tiburon. i was getting into my car and i was with my 2 little ones and pregnant w/ my 3rd. a man walked into the bank cased it and walked right out. i went out to the parking lot and he was standing smack dab in the middle of it and glaring at me. scared the crapola out of me. i called the cops. they did NOTHING. a day later the same man went in and robbed it.

2. i was driving north on 101 right near east francisco/richmond-sanrafael exit. A white GUY WAS WALKING ON THE FREEWAY like a punk gangsta. i said to myself, "this bas*** just escaped from san quentin" i called 911, got CHP. NOTHING.
on the news the next day, SURE ENOUGH a white dude had excaped from San Q and was FOUND IN IDAHO.

you be the judge of that!!
