What Does van der Straten Know About Natalee Holloway?

In a Dutch interview Aruban Police Superintendent Jan van der Straten told the reporter that he doesn’t believe that Natalee is still alive.

With regard to Natalee’s status, van der Straaten gave the following statement to a Dutch reporter:

Rep: Any hopes for a positive outcome?

Jan: You always have to be hopeful, but I don’t believe anymore that we will find Natalee alive.

Rep: Why not?

Jan: Because I know the details of the investigation and you don't!

Okay, as intrigueing as all of this has been the past few days, I think I have come to some kind of conclusion...well, at least enough to share my opinion to the wolves for devouring.

Maybe the chief of Polis came to the same conclusion I did. I do believe they have alot of info that has not been released yet, as per thier laws.
But from what we do have for sure, this is what I have deduced:

Natalee was most probably willing to let her inhibitions down as a first time "Free adult" at 18, on her last night in paradise....with a cute guy she'd been flirting with all week.

We know she had only her drivers licence for ID with her, and some cash. We also know she left her cell phone, some cash , and medication in her partially packed bag in her room. That tells me she was planning to make her flight home. And, she could not have made a call FROM her cell phone that night because she didn't have it with her. Not to say she didn't make a call from somewhere else....possibly VDS home while PVDS was out making withdrawls from his ATM acct?

Can anyone verify that Paul VDS did make those withdrawls? Or was it Joran who made the withdrawls?

We also know that as soon as the Twittys showed up in town, (I am soooo proud of Beth I could just bust!), that PaulVDS immediately made sure he clued in his son on "No body, no crime".

Ya know, it seems to me that that kind of statement would ONLY be made or even considered to be spoken if there was a death involved... otherwise, why mention a "body" at all?

The other thing is Joran's admitting he did have sexual intercourse with Natalee that night.

I want to know the exact timeline on this. Can anyone tell me if Joran said that during questioning, BEFORE his father gave him the "No body" advice?

If so.... then I think these two creeps just let it slip that they know Natalee is dead and she could be found.

Plus, the authorities now say they believe Natalee is dead and though the COP won't say why he believes that (Typical of thier system, folks) he did say "because I know the details of the investigation"..... or very close to that.

I really think she's been dead all along from an overdose that night. I think Deepak got the drugs for Joran, and it was slipped to her either in her last call drink at the bar or in a bottle of soda or beer in the car as soon as they left. She was small, she didn't have the lifestyle that would suggest she'd ever done anything heavy as far as drugs before, so a good guess is that she didn't take X or anything else willingly.

I am not sure about the "gang-bang" theory, but it wouldn't suprise me at all.

I do believe that the connections that the Kalpoe's have are intended to remain a secret.

It does seems strange 3 guys are suspects and 3 condoms are found. One girl is missing and 1 pair of panties found. A tree having duct tape around it would probably be an unusual site at place where young lovers frequent.

Yes, it was confirmed by PaulVDS to BHT & Greta during the 90 minute "talk" with the VDS' in thier home last week.
I beleive Greta confirmed that Beth had asked Paul Van der Sloot point blank if Joran had told him if he acctually HAD intercourse with Natalee that night and he said that Joran had told him "Yes.".

I work with teenagers and one thing I've learned is that it's not just the "druggies" who do drugs. There is no particular "lifestyle" that does drugs or doesn't. I see lots typical, middle-class, all-American kids who are perfectly functional at school and socially but will tell you flat out that they do x every now and then. Add to that the fact people on vacation feel more adventurous than they do at home. I'm not saying I believe she took x or anything else willingly, I really don't have a clue, I'm just saying we can't rule that out so easily.

Also, the man who questioned Joran when Natalee's mother arrived said he asked Joran if Natalee had been drinking or using drugs. Joran, according to him, said yes. So, the mother knew that was said although she hasn't been on television mentioning the drug part, which suggests to me and only a guess, that might be because it could be shown Natalee wasn't clean with drugs and that could come out.

1) We really don't know exactly what the Aruban authorities have. Could be more than we think, could be(hopefully not) a lot less.

2) The Kalpoes involvement is truly puzzling, because they changed there story and turned on Joran, but SEEMED to have stopped short of telling all they know.

*3) Did anyone among the 100+ Alabama students know some insignificant clue that could have unlocked more? Have they been thouroughly interviewed or are they as off limits to the American authorities as they are to posters?

I do not subscribe to intentional cover up, however, I do believe the authorities felt awkward in dealing with PvdS in the initial phase of the investigation, treated him with kid gloves, and consequently lost forever an invaluable window of opportunity. I would bet my pathetic paycheck, that they would love to have that one over again.

I think the reason the Kalpoes have stopped telling everything they know is because they do not know anymore. It is puzzling because I thought they would be able to tell more. But, it is possible they dropped VDS and NAT off, and then just helped with the cover story, but they were never told exactly what happened to Nat for fear they would eventually give up the info. Or, the other possibility is they helped in the killing or dumping of the body and can't say anything. I think what they have is what they heard on the phone taps and what they found on the computers. If an attempt was made to erase the computer hard drives than it may have taken some time for a computer forensics expert to retrieve some of it. They may have only recently gotten this info.

To lornaD I don´t think they can convict someone only on computer messages, I believe they have more but they are not telling because this may blow there investigation. Remember they don´t have a body, so to make their case strong they will need to have good and solid evidence. I´m thinking more in the direction of the Dutch expert team that searched the v.d. Sloot house. They are experts in finding washed out blood up to 20 years, if I´m not mistaken. And one reporter said during the search they heard the someone banging, which sounded like on a concret wall so, that make me remember a case in Holland were they found a body in a conret wall.

I share the opinion of many that this is probably yet another sad and tragic case of drug and alcohol mixtures, both

The reporter noticed that Anita was wearing the ‘hope for Natalee’ bracelet and asked her why she wore the bracelet. Anita said that she has a feeling that Natalle is still alive and hopes that she will be found soon.Considering the fact that Paul worked at the justice department, the reporter asked Paul how it felt to be arrested by his own colleagues. The panties were viewed by the mother who said they were not her daughter's underwear. The tape was the kind used by the windsurfers who inhabit that beach during the day. The condoms were among dozens found there all the time as it is the very popular area for lovers to use every night and people who were there that night said they did not see anything unusual...at the hours the boys were supposed to have left the two teenagers there...very public lovers beach late at night.
