Curious Activity At Van der Sloot Home

The image at right is an overhead view of the home of Joran Van der Sloot, currently being held as a suspect in the Natalee Holloway disappearance. Ironically, as this picture was snapped the Van der Sloot parents, Paul(us) and Anita both happened to be outside.

A link to a larger image below shows Paul(us) v d Sloot talking to an indivdual who appears to have arrived in a furniture truck. Anita can be clearly seen making her way from the house towards Paul(us) and the other individual. What appear to be items of furniture can be seen, as well.

It has not been confirmed as to whether or not the Van der Sloots are planning a move. Some sources suggest they may be selling off furniture to pay for legal expenses accrued through a drawn out investiigation involving their eldest son. ALso, the family may have simply decided it was time for some new furniture.

Well, it looks like this case is totally lost. The media are churning it for all it's worth, but there is little left to do or say. It makes me sick that it was bungled up by the Aruban authorities. It puts me in mind of the JonBenet case where the small-town police wouldn't let Denver PD help out.

Did anyone catch "The Situation" on MSNBC with Monica Crowley hosting? It seems the entire panel (a conservative, a liberal, and Monica) all thought it is a bad idea for the FBI to go to Aruba in this case. Advising and testing is okay, but to leave domestic terrorism work to fly to Aruba because that's what the family wants is "not necessary." I read a pretty tough article about the family and circumstances on Opinion Journal today. It seems that people think enough resources have been blown on this case already. It's time to move on and wait for evidence to surface, as it always does. I do feel sorry for the parents, but if Jug Twitty hadn't been a bullying jerk right out of the box, then maybe more people would have worked with him.

It is too bad when resources are wasted on things that don't pan out. I am sure they are sifting through the tips and acting on the ones that they find plausible, but they have also been under a lot of pressure to act. It seemed like a relief when they started draining the pond, finally something was happening, and now like a waste. But at least they now know. I hope they continue to follow up on tips that seem valid, but also take other possiblities into account, such as that she was taken away. Hopefully the FBI will work quietly and get somewhere behind the scenes. I also hope that Ward, if they keep him on, acts more professionally with his information. I hope they know about it if he is claiming to be going to write a book- I wouldn't want that if it were my daughter missing. I'd write a book myself about my daughter if there were some purpose to it, but just to have someone show up wanting to get hired and then get his face on tv and write a book- sleazy.

TJ Ward should be let go, who in Aruba will talk to him now after this. I would think they would be afraid their story will get turned upside down and taken to the press before they could close their front door. I would think that the FBI & LE would take anything he had to say with a grain of salt also. His 15 minutes should be about over!

I had not heard that he was thinking about writing a book. I would think that Beth and Dave should have something to say about that!

ALE needs to issue a warrant for that cistern to be drained on the VDS property. I am pretty sure this is the neck and cap to that cistern on the VDS property in this picture. It looks like there is a shadow on top of the cistern lid due to the tree branches. Or it may simply have something sitting on top of it. It looks like it has been painted to match the paint on the house since cistern caps are eyesores in a yard.

The only way to know for sure that Natalee is not in that cistern is to drain it. Bleach and pool chemicals can be poured into that cistern to hide the smell of a rotting body from human and dog noses. The water may be murky enough or could have been dyed with paint or dye to make the water hard to see through even with a flashlight if one was to shine it into the cistern to take a look at the bottom on it through the water that may be in it.

As long as PVDS owns that home and as long as ALE will not issue a warrant for that cistern to be drained, then Natalee's family will always wonder if Natalee's remains are inside that cistern.

That cistern would no longer be used since 99% of the people are now hooked up to water plant on the island.

Cistern caps cover a concrete manhole that comes out of the top of the inground cistern tank that is below ground level.

The neck below the cistern cap is the size of a manhole. So it is large enough for a grown sized man to climb into. It is an access hole so that water hauled from a truck can fill the cistern up. A cistern is a in ground holding tank for water. A human has to have access to the inside of the cistern tank so that you can clean it or make repairs to the inside of the tank.

The cistern cap is keep dirt out of cistern or so that no one falls into the manhole.

But... there is a cistern on the VDS property. The cap to it may not be in the picture but we have heard about the cistern (some are calling it a well) in the news.

Dan...that is the head of the cistern..with the shadows to the right and the left...there is a small tree/shrub at about 1 o'clock,,the closeness makes it look like a potted plant...the "pot" is the neck or the rim of the cistern..looks like there is a pipe connecting from the cisern to the building next to it...grayish in color

Will someone please tell me why Joran's father refused to let the FBI search the well on his property? If it is a water well, I am sure that Aruba has a public water system and that the water in the well is either drinkable, potable, or septic tank.

Does Aruba have warrants issued to allow the search of the water well based on the possibility of finding more clues?

Aruba is approximately 9 miles long and about 3 miles wide, and the authorities are slowly running out of places to search.

I think the Aruba Prime Minister or the FBI should issue a search warrant or something to be able to search the well on the Van der Sloot property, since Paul refused to let them before. Does he have something to hide?

Yes, it has been said that a picture is worth a thousand words--and some aerial pictures are worth at least ten times that, IMHO!

The whole place gives me the creeps! It looks more like a "compound" than a residence if you ask me. Also, just curious, how does a school teacher and "Official" in training afford a pool?

Also, note the long, industrial looking buildings on the left. What are the long standing gas bottles used for? Acetylene? Nitrous Oxide? What are those things for?

Why does this place look like a place of 'activity' other than what most folks have for family activities??

Were there other types of activities going on here? Raves? Drug parties? Ecstasy parties and sales?

What is the building with the satellite dish next to it? Is that JVDS' "apartment?" If so, maybe they are moving the furniture out of it and getting rid of it for some reason......hmmmm..

I say search the whole PVDS compound with the radar devices, including the well again and search all the surrounding areas too.

What you cant grasp is that the truck is on a side street next to the home and every thing matches fine once you get the right orientation. This aerial photo was based off their address. There is no need to believe that the photographer would have bothered photographing the wrong property. From other videos I have seen, this photo seems consistent with those videos, including the one you linked. I am fairly certain you are mistaken. The video is just a smaller pie view of the same property.

I think that pipe is awfully large to be just a 'watering" pipe for a plant. Seems really large for that. Are we sure the plant isn't on there as a "decoy"?

Well Dan, this is a easy one to solve, unlike the NH disappearence.

In the video when BH approaches the gate facing the house, she hands the flyer to VDS and moves to her right were VDS is opening the gate near the fuse box.
Now where the hell to you think BH was standing when she moved to the right to enter the gate? In the enclosed back yard of the house on the right with the white fense? Because that is where she would have to be.

Jessie, look at the video again, you will see that that between that white fence and their fence is a road or walkway. There was plenty of room for Beth to move and still be outside of his property and not in his neighbor's property. Even the bend in the fence is seen in the properties in both photos. The photo IS the PVS property. I agree with Dan.

Only problem with that annie is that when BH is standing facing the front of the VDS house the VDS property extends much further to her left before she moves to her right to enter the gate. And there is a narrow dirt road behind her as she faces the VDS house.

It is the same property. The truck is blocking some of what you can't seem to place in your mind to match the two images. The photo was taken from the ADDRESS of his property. Everything matches up IMO. I see the house with the monkey relative to the property matching this photo. I don't see why you are missing it, but to me it is obviously the same property.
