Curious Activity At Van der Sloot Home

The image at right is an overhead view of the home of Joran Van der Sloot, currently being held as a suspect in the Natalee Holloway disappearance. Ironically, as this picture was snapped the Van der Sloot parents, Paul(us) and Anita both happened to be outside.

A link to a larger image below shows Paul(us) v d Sloot talking to an indivdual who appears to have arrived in a furniture truck. Anita can be clearly seen making her way from the house towards Paul(us) and the other individual. What appear to be items of furniture can be seen, as well.

It has not been confirmed as to whether or not the Van der Sloots are planning a move. Some sources suggest they may be selling off furniture to pay for legal expenses accrued through a drawn out investiigation involving their eldest son. ALso, the family may have simply decided it was time for some new furniture.

The rectangular building at on the left side of the pic is where the kitchne is...see the propane tanks along the wall....did Natalee swim in that pool?...I think she left C&Cs early, possibly....thats why we have some mixed stories about how and what time she left...MBHS kids werent to convincing to me...

I'm not sure where the abandoned well/cesspool is, but I find it interesting that PVS refused to let Miller of Equusearch search it. As seedyrum is fond of saying, people with nothing to hide, hide nothing.

Jossy had said that Paulus cleaned out his desk at the courthouse where he worked. He failed his judgeship so he couldn't continue working there. Plus what is going on with the case is another reason he isn't there.

He did not obtain a new position that was suitable to him. He is on the payroll until Jan 2006. That is when his contract was ending. This is not an unusual thing. I work for the Canadian government and it happens here too.

All this was in the works before Natalee. Anita and Paulus were in Holland just before the disppearance. Paulus cam home about 5 to 6 days before Antia. There was some talk at the beginning that they were thinking of moving back to Holland as he had no viable employment in Aruba and Joran was leaving to go to college.

Nice photo... The VDS property shows three buildings. Does anyone know what they are? I am assuming the smallest is Joran's apartment and the middle one with all of the trees is the house...but what is the third building?

How is it that PVDS has managed to continue to be above the law and unaccountable for his incriminating behavior and statements,ie: "No body no case", "I would do anything for my son". His good friend Vanderstratten retires. How convenient. He is Joran's godfather, right?

What ever happened to CONFLICT OF INTEREST? Everybody KNOWS that there is a coverup. What a mockery of the justice system. Disgusting.

I don't make much out of PVDS not allowing Equusearch to search his property. Why should he without a warrant?

If we are all honest with ourselves, how man of us would allow people hell bent on convicting or blaming us to just come in and search, destroy or even plant evidence on our personal property? especially when they are from another country and tensions and emotions are already high?? I know I wouldn't let them search mine...regardless of my innocence. Any lawyer worth his salt would tell/advise his clients of the same thing.

I too believe the VDS's are involved up past their eyeballs, but think about it folks, from the first moment PVDS met any of the American adults, tensions were high and he and his son were being accused.

It wasn't a friendly conversation at 2am when strangers knock on your door already accusing.. From all reports, it wasn't a "hello, my apologies for waking you in the middle of the night. We're the Twitty's searching for our daughter Natalee who missed her flight and we understand you had spent some time with her. Could you tell us where you last saw her and give us some details on what yau'll did for the evening and who we might look at to find her."
No folks, it was more like, "where is our daughter and what did you do with her?"

justwondering, I don't believe there has been any proof that VanderStratten is Joran's grandfather or that they are even related. That seems to be rumor and speculation. I believe there has been confirmation he and PVDS were good friends.

In fact, I think in one of the earlier DF's, Dan may have indicated he doubted they were relatives and had not been able to find any concrete evidence saying they were. Sorry, I don't remember which DF it was...

Justwondering wasn't saying grandfather, but godfather. I think that was mentioned some time ago as not being true; Joran was born in Holland. Van der Straaten said something like, "How could I do this to my best friend?" Unless what I read is incorrect.

I certainly don't know whether or not there is anything hidden at the van der Sloot home and Paulus vsn der Sloot is trying to hide it, but I do understand why he would not want a private group on his property. How can he be certain that something won't get "planted" during the search? Remember, a person with nothing to hide also has nothing to prove. It appears now that there will be a circumstantial case against Joran, so he has every right to protect himself.
Also, I think Geraldo is more of an idiot than I had assumed. How many times has Jossy Mansur's stories been disproven? So tonight Geraldo asked Jug Twitty how he felt about a witness going to the police on 6/2 with proof of a blonde, nude female body being buried at the landfill. Geraldo made it sound like a proven fact! He is just baiting that poor family for the shock value. Of course, then I remember, this is Geraldo. Not for nothing, he's on at 10pm on Saturday. Anyone who believes what he babbles on about is probably wearing a tin foil hat and reading Diario.

I agree with you about PVDS having the right to refuse Equisearch's request.

My distain lies in the fact that they arrested those two security guards, and held them for HOW many days in jail based on what? The 3 boy's statements, ie. lies.
But the HTs witness the statement of PVDS admidst other people and police officers who heard the same statement: "no body, no case" BEFORE it was even reported that Natalee was missing in the media. How did he know that a body would not be found? And they have him in and out for a statement in 45 minutes?

PVDS and the whole group could be guilty or innocent. They could be under huge pressure from someone that took her away from before the eyes of the boys, with the boys being threatened with all sorts of horrid things. That may be why the boys lie and change their stories. That may be why Paul is sweating. I don't think any of them should be ridiculed or pronounced guilty without a trial. If they have a cartell threatening to kill the families of the boys, and someone on the other side demanding the answers they can't give, and a son in jail, and Americans threatening to poison Aruba, with the FBI, Equusearch, PI, and Holland as well as the Aruban LE all crawling all over them, not to mention intensive media pursuit, they should be sweating! I wouldn't want to be in that position! Or it could be an accident or cold blooded murder. We don't know.

I remember hearing about that and I thought it was odd about no body = no case said by PVDS while they were still looking for her thinking she was just missing somewhere. And alive.

I also just read that Beth & Jug have left Aruba.
I think this is a good thing for her. She has to be drained and maybe close to a physical / emotional breakdown. She has support at home that she doesn't have in Aruba. Jug had said he came close to going ballistic a couple of times so he is also stressed.
The FBI is involved, and they have to trust that they can bring out some resolution.

They should not be moving ANYTHING into or out of that House until this investigation is over with. Paulus Van Der Sloot is STILL A SUSPECT and can be charged with a crime still for up to two years.

WE KNOW THE VDS HOME WAS NOT THOUROGHLY SEARCHED.

It's rediculous that they have moved in with the Kings and are putting the house up as a vacation rental....

...there was a guy who killed a girl and burried her under a slab of concrete jsut before moving out of and selling his home. Lucky somebody saw him laying concrete in the dark and eventually put two and two together...but thats another story.

My point is, The VDS property is one of the few places that has YET to be THOROUGHLY SEARCHED.

Paulus and Anita may have, prior to all of this, planned to go back to Holland for awhile after Joran headed off to college, but things have CHANGED.

THE US authorities would be ALL OVER THE VDS HOME if a suspect was doing the stuff the Van der Sloots seem to be up to!!!

Here is a picture of my cistern cap (on the right) - on the left is the thing that looks like a cistern cap in the Sloots yard (it looks like it has been painted to match the house and may have plants, something sitting on the lid, or a shadpw from the tree branches) Cisterns are normally located at the rear of the house but close to a driveway so that the water truck can bring a hose to the cistern. The concrete cap lifts off and is big enough for a adult to get into (it is about the size of a manhole).

He gave the tag numbers, but the truck was NOT where he put it at the time. Now the guy says it was 3 people and he saw blonde hair and a nude body. This is just crazy!! I think the cable news coverage of this case, with rare exception, has jumped the shark.

I think I understand what you are implying Tanya...a good clue would be a bunch of them circling an area maybe other than a dump. I would think that whatever they were circling would be aboveground not buried.

Ive tried to watch the interview four times now but it crashes after a few minutes [the total length is 22 minutes]
What I heard is this:

In Netherlands its forbidden to publicize the whole name [name plus familyname] of someone who is a suspect, but Paul vdS wanted his full name in the press, he had no problems with that.

The reporter heard the phones in the house ring every second. All American press that wanted an interview with the vdS. They didnt leave the house much as for the reporters and cameras outside. In the house were flowers of friends and acquaintances who wished them the best with all this. There were also friends in the house, two lawyers from Netherlands.

It wasnt the intention of PvdS to do an interview because the most important thing was to find Natalee, and an interview with him would only take attention from the search. Also he thought it would be too easy to say something which would be explained in a wrong way. But now he did want to talk because of all the media-attention for the Twitty's. He felt he somehow had to show his side of the story too.

The reporters were quite some hours in the house to discuss the interview and the case.

Anita vdS wore a Natalee-bracelet. She said she dearly hoped the girl to be found. She said she felt positive that Natalee was still alive and she was full of hope for her, as was the rest of the family.

It was van der straaten himself who arrested PvdS. This felt kind of absurd to PvdS because this was his colleague and he knew him well.

The night the Twittys visit him at his house he goes to Jorans appartment to talk to him. Joran isnt there. PvdS calls Joran on his mobile. Joran is at a casino [the Wyndham].
PvdS goes to the Wyndham with the Twittys but in the meantime [misunderstanding] Joran drives home. So in the end they meet there and talk a long time with the group.

I heard the interview until this point and not further.
I remember PvdS says some things tot he police and he is aware that the other people [with the Twittys] can understand things wrong so he only talks to the police. The other people are standing further away. Later he hears that those people were hearing things -the time he picked up Joran- different than what he stated to the police, so thats the reason he was arrested. [PvdS picked up Joran at 11 pm, the people in the group thought he was saying 3 or 3.30 am]

I think it wasnt really clear to PvdS why Joran lied. Probably the shock of the group that was visiting them in the middle of the night from America and that Joran felt he was being held responsible.
