A reader has a connection to a young man from Texas, Trevor Stokol - he has been missing from Mount Everest for several days. There's something of an online journal he kept at this website. Also, details at EverestNews.

Dan, Thanks for posting this. I enjoyed reading Trevor's journal and he has some beautiful pictures from his journey. I truly hope they find him, it would be a shame to make an 8 month journey only to be lost in the last week of your trip.

I know that people will continue to want to climb everest for years to come as the challenge is something people will always want to try and succeed at. This happens and its always sad when it does.
A co worker of mine died in a mountain climbing accident years ago. They had reached the summit and were on the way down when he slpped and fell 1500 feet down into a waterfall and river below.

C.Everett Coop wrote a wonderful book upon the death of his son while mountain climbing. It's
called "sometimes mountains move". I read it during the days my child was near death, it was very uplifting, spiritual. Reading here for weeks not only of Natalee but of other missing young people, I am still sure, I could not handle it. My child died, but I know where she is. These poor people do not. I am sure it would drive me insane. God bless them all.

Mary
The thrill, I remember that lol. Of course, I never told my parents where I really was or what I was doing. The other night I called my daughter Bries cell phone. Brie, where are you, don't know mom, somewhere in Pa swinging from ropes. Brie, are you in a park or something? No mom, I am in someplace very dangerous, swinging from ropes, I did good the first time, hit the ground the second time. Brie, I have to go, and remember you don't have health insurance. She was laughing, I was not. Freaking kids.
