you are such a tease!!! come on and post, already!

Hi, waiting for your upcoming post re: Aruba.

Dan - Hurry!!! I'm going on vacation for a week and have no idea if I will be able to log on.

me too Dan.

I dont think I can be more irate.

counting to 10

ok I feel better

people with nothing to hide hide nothing

Dan, we won't let them sue you! And if they do, I'm sure we'll all pitch in and help. I have a dollar... lol

Nothing doing. I'm not a fan of everything they do, vote Republican about 50% of the time (40% Libertarian, 10% moderate Democrat), but still think the bad they do is outweighed by the good. Who else is standing up to the erosions of freedoms D.O.J. and the Bush administration is perpetrating? If Clinton were doing this we'd be howling bloody murder. Even Bob Barr and Dick Armey work with the ACLU now. Dan - I used to be like you - a self-identified "conservative", I assumed that to identify with the ACLU would be to identify with liberals and Chomsky, so I reactionarily hated them. Again, I disagree with a lot of their anti-religious battles, but also basically understand that they are fighting for the Jeffersonian liberties that make this country different from the countries of our enemies.

Dan, waiting in ATLANTA for your mystery post. !:O)
Keeping my head above the water. HAHA..Its raining again. :O(

Vellum you are so right.

Hi,while we are waiting for the news, I would like to thank you for this post site. I came across it while searching for news updates on the Natalee Holloway case. This is one of the first sites that I log onto every day since I have found it. Again, thanks, and keep up the good work. I certainly hope that you keep up this site, and give way to other news that otherwise might neverhave made the media. It is clear now that these web sites are making the newsmedia take notice and report issues that they otherwise might overlook.

continued, or might not consider as newsworthy issues.

dan

you would like this one then:

www.kafirnation.com

:)

Thanks for the Anti-ACLU site. I am now a CARD-CARRYING member.

It would be nice to have some interesting update from Aruba, but, I'm afraid this tragic case is going nowhere. They'll be digging up the trash in the landfill for another week or more, and then what? I think all the witnesses are from left field. I don't know where Natalee is, but, I don't think she's on that island. If she is, she's not in the landfill. That guy saw the three boys bury a body and he's just now speaking? Are you kidding me?

Hey man, very interesting. If that stuff is true I really hope people start to open their eyes a little before 2020.

Dan, the ACLU once was a very good organization and I believed in their view but although I can understand why they have to make sure every one has a say.
I think with the decision of the senate with NO ONE agreeing with them about the scouts, shows that they have to pick and choose their battles wisely.

I don't take these right wing nuts too seriously.
Maybe I should, but I am too old to get too excited about them. Groups that seek to stifle freed of expression, thought and other personal freedoms generally go the way of the KKK, Skin Heads and the other totalarian groups as a serious force in a free scoiety. History has proven this numerious times. But I would suspect individuals with the totalarian mind set of these extreme groups have tried to change history since the dawn of man. And they have had success in some instances but failed in most. However, in the current information age they do have a huge platform to advocate their views on what they would personally prefer society to look like.

Thanks for the link! Looks like several misunderstand my site. We are nothing like nazis for God's sake. We are for freedom. Freedom of religious expression that the ACLU fights against.

So, you all are in love with the most twisted and dangerous organization in America. Good. I bet they love your money. I bet they will spend it wisely defending child molesters, NAMBLA, terrorist, promoting communist goals, judicial activism, tearing away at the boy scouts and putting gay rights above those of the majority of this nation. And why? Because they have no interest in your civil liberites. None. Their whole interest is in destroying this nation. By turning it into the U.S.S.A. the United Soviet States of Amerika

DAN, This is the best site Im soooooo glad I found YOU.. I turn on my computer as soon as i get home from work and go straight to the RIEHL WORLD.I have been following the natalee case from day one ...and I just want to tell you THANKS for all your time you put into this, I have posted before so maybe you remember me...thanks again for the great updates...

Well, if I worried about anything much (which I don't) I would worry more about what unbridaled Capitalism is doing to the USA than what the ACLU is doing to the USA. And that is one man's view of the current state of affairs.

When are you people that are REASONABLE going to wake up and realise that 99% of the posters on this site are FRUIT Cake Liberals....I find it so IRONIC that a s-called Conservative hosts a site for LIBERALS...CRAZY...nuts flock to this site...

Hey, I just started this fight - leave me out of it. I was a registered Dem turn Independant and vote that way. But one thing I must say, in my opinion taking a non-sectarian God, prayer, the Ten Commandments et al out of the school left us with what?? Metal detectors. And no I do not attend an organizaed church every Sunday. But, perhaps it's because I am growing older and hopefully wiser, there needs to be a genuine discussion of values in our culture beyond the talking points of any one party, or point of view. And th th th that's all folks ... you fight it out. I have some other work to do to post through the weekend. No cussing, oe personal attacks, please... principles over personalitites!

B. dog: Apparently you just come to this site to write and not read. I would say you would have to read a lot of posts to find a liberal in this haystack.

Which reminds me. Dave Holloway thinks if he can find the haystack he can find NH. Somebody should tell the man where the Haystack is in Aruba.

"Don't Worry....Be Happy !" :O)

Frankly, I think Vellum and Jessie's comments are a little more thoughtful than Dan's. Continued harping on the supposed evil intents of MSM is weary worn folly. Blind support of any ideology is more of a concern to me. It seems that too many of these conservative and liberal sites blindly support the rhetoric of the right or left without a great deal of inspection. The strident speaking styles of many prominent far right and far left politicians speaks more about the message than the message itself.

I am tired of people saying that God or the Ten Comandments has been taken out of school. I am a teacher and nothing could be farther than the truth. There are bibles in the school library, students can have prayer groups before and after school on school property. They can pray silently anytime they wish. As a teacher, I simply cannot tell them to pray, what to pray, how to pray or lead them in prayer. My school must have at least 10 different religions represented. I want to teach in my class, not argue about which prayer we should use and who is or is not praying and why. There are religious clubs on most campuses such as FCA. Religion is not gone in school, it is simply not forced upon everybody.

Shoot, need to marry me that Miss Jessie and take Vellum for a pint of plain. It is very easy to talk in stark definition. It is very difficult to sit at table with your enemy and hammer a path that serves the world. It is very easy to start a war. It is very expensive-- lives, dollars, reputation-- and difficult to extract yourself from one. I understand WWII, I understand Afghanistan, and I just can't get me this Iraq thing. Conservatives now tend to say it's a democracy building exercise, as if that was the way it was presented all along. It was presented as attached to Osama and rife with WMD. If we're that peached up about democracy building why aren't we in Darfur, why aren't we confronting Mugabe, why did we stand still over the slaughter in Indonesia? We used to be a be beacon-- an example-- and most disaffected people looked to that light. Now we appear to much of the world as schoolyard bullies that will bloody a nose on a sideways glance. The world stood beside us on 9/12, and we had to drive, kicking and screaming, our debtor nations, as "willing," into Iraq just one year and change later. Saddens me to think that we squandered the possible alliance of the world in battle against terrorism, for a walk alone for a decade or more in a desert. Let's bring the whole thing to the forefront of America's attention. Let's make the whole thing count. Let's reinstate the draft and close all the loopholes. Let's see the Bush and Cheney daughters in fatigues. That's a quick end to a democracy building exercise. It's easy to say "Bring it on" if you've got a comfy chair, premium cable, a six of Bud and no neighbors that have lost sons. A clever man once said, "I would hope America would stand in the world, the way we would want others to stand in the world when we are no longer the most powerful." We'd be pissin' straight vinegar if this was Russia venturing into Saudi Arabia because 15 of the 19 people that flew planes into the Kremlin were from Iraq. No one likes a big fella to throw their weight around on twisted logic. Makes the world all nervous like. Krikey. True, Blue and not half bad to look at!

SOME ARE SICKER THAN OTHERS!!

What is so hard to understand about separation of church and state? Are we a melting pot or aren't we? Saluting the god of one belief over another has no place in school or any other government institution. The fight to have our society respect differing religeous views seems to be the civil rights effort of our time.

Nice post Sheesh!

Markle - if you have been in a classroom in a large city you would see what a melting pot we are. My school has 66 different languages spoken that we know of. These kids and their parents are American too. As I recall, the Puritans came to American to escape religious intolerance in England. They wanted to be "free" to worship as they wished. So do I.

"The fight to have our society respect differing religeous views seems to be the civil rights effort of our time."

Now why didn't I think of that. That in fact is the core of the matter MarkelSparkle. Give yourself a gold star.

I am happy to hear that Kris. It seems that so often all we hear about is hate and intolerance.

Kris,

Is the Mormon or LDS church one of those religions mentioned in your blog? They seem to be EVERYWHERE :) Just curious as I'm a non-Mormon married to a Mormon.

You know the air gets a lot fresher when people are looking for cure rather than fence building. That's strong to me. Doesn't mean you don't believe in proactive measures, or self-defense, or dealing from a position of strength. It means that you believe in America and her freedoms. Much more than talk show hosts that scream "Shut up!" in the face of the contrary, and then say the opposition can't win an argument with them. That's an easy and hollow victory. Cooler heads know they're facing a stone ear and walk away before it all gets too mindlessly shrill. Wiser heads don't take the bait and set about doing meaningful work. A civil war in our own country isn't doing us any kind of good.

sheesh

and calling the white house the kremlin

well that sure is a fabulous cure there pal!!

real healing of ya!!

Thanks for the link! Looks like several misunderstand my site. We are nothing like nazis for God's sake. We are for freedom. Freedom of religious expression that the ACLU fights against.

I am now going to say something that some of you might find politically incorrect. It is not my intention to offend anyone - just to present the facts. Wealthy, developed nations are not increasing their populations. Our population will double in about 72 years. Some countries in Europe are having negative population growth. India, Palestine, Iran, and Iraq (and others)will double their current population (which is already huge) in about 30 years. France (which is about the physical size of Oregon) has more than 5 million muslims living there now. Many of these people are living in poverty. It is not unsusual for people in these areas to have 10 and 11 children - or even more. I believe Osama bin Laden has almost 30 brothers and sisters. In many of these areas unemployment rates are greater than 50% As these populations grow and spread the demographics of our country are going to change. I want my government to be secular so that my religious rights and those of my children will be protected in the future. Someday, I or my children will be a minority. I do not want someone in the "majority" to dictate how, when or to whom I will pray.

Interesting link and interesting read..... Thanks Dan. I am learning alot, that's for sure....

Kris: Exactly!

KRIS AND MARKLESPARKLE

Re: your 12:03 Post.
DITTO!!!!!!

Complete Integration of Church and State----Hmmm?
Let's see-- that would include the very tolerant nations of Iran and Syria-- the kind of thinking that brought us witch burning and the Inquisition-- that which forced folks to get into a wee creaky ship, in uncomfortable and heavy buckled shoes to eat turkey and corn in the woods with no chance at a decent amount of sweet to their punkin pie. Like ours better-- the Separation. You can put great large Stars of David, or Italian light encrusted Crucifixes, or lawn sized jewel encrusted Meccas on your lot, all year-- and have legal recourse if someone eggs the thing. It would make you suspicious of finding justice for your vandal broken manger if the first image at the courthouse was a bust of Mohammed. Walking a mile in another religion's shoes. If that's part of the ACLU's work, then it's not all bad.

Markle Sparkle,
Separation of church and state.
DITTO.

Sheesh,
I agree- Let's see Bushs' daughters in fatigues.

Now Missus Jimi--
We went from "pal" to ALL CAPS so quickly. Hurts.
Feel like you completely missed the import of the "twisted logic" text. Can I buy you a glass of wine or something?

You've got to be joking- oh you poor Christian far righties- boohoohoo! - as you try to defiantly try to rip apart the Constitutional law of separation of church and state, shove YOUR religious views down our throats through legislation, you have the nerve to talk about discrimination against Christians in the US. Grow up. I know Orthodox Jews who don't drive on the Sabbath because its against their religion. But because they live in America, they don't try to change the laws so that ALL Americans can't drive on the Sabbath. No, they recognize that this is their religious belief and abide by it.
Contrast that with the emerging Christian Right who don't believe in abortion, and so instead of refraining from having them, they want to make it impossible for ALL Americans to make that choice.
If something is against your religion, then DON"T DO IT. But stop trying to get the rest of us who don't share your religious beliefs to be forced to abide by them. Got it fuckheads?

Pop...you are crude. When all you liberals stop patting each other on the back, you might notice that you are mostly in this room by yourselves. How in the world did you manage to stumble upon this place?

I used to be a liberal. Then I became an independant. I cringe when either liberals or conservatives are so far to the left or right that they become completely intolerant.

You bore me.
