Disappointed, but not surprised, that Dubya would pick a hard right white guy. He loves to stick it to the opposition whenever possible. As a Republican, I do not find that to be an endearing trait in a president.

I am happy with the President's selection. I think he will do a fine job !!
In years to come if people will give him a chance without being so critical of everything our
President does, I think in time all will see republicans and democrats alike will be pleased with this selction the Presidents has made.
God Bless him as he steps into this position !

I think he will be confirmed. He seems like an excellent candidate.

From here it looks like one of the smartest decisions that G. Bush has either made or been
told to make.

Is the guy pro-life and pro-gun owner?
If not then Bork him.

I voted for the Libertarian candidate in 2004 because I was disgusted at Bush's big government policies. This choice makes me happy! Not that I am all that conservative on substance, but I am tired of a bunch of old, unelected people deciding for themselves what policies should be, all in the name of the Constitution. I have a JD. Let me assure you - lawyers have no better knowledge than the rest of us what policies should be. Let the people decide through their elected representatives!

He seems like a good selection from all indications. He seems very talented, dedicated, and everyone that talked about him said he was a very nice man and one of the most respected judges and lawyers. I think he may stand a chance getting voted in.

I think Dumya should have put in a minority factor.
whether woman
whether black
whether hispanic
whether asian
As a reporter said where do white men get off knowing whats right for the rest of America who arent represented.
White men see them as "normal" and everyone else is "abnormal."
A white man doesnt know what it is to be excluded from anything or everything ( in some cases)
Big business is represented by white men, goverment(except for a dabble) is represented by white men.
The republican party need to practice inclusion of representative sampling of all "minorities" and not just lip service.
I could have gone with along with a hard conservative "minority' than another white man on the Supreme Court.
This naming of Roberts tonight was a publicity ploy to take Rove off the front page, for now, it wont work the investigation goes on.
Bush and the White House credibility is at stake, another coverup for the Iraq War we should never be engaged.
People with nothing to hide hide nothing

"The republican party need to practice inclusion of representative sampling of all "minorities" and not just lip service."
No administration in the history of this country has advanced more minorities in high positions than this present administration.

I have to do more reading on Mr. Roberts, I do however like his wife Julia . Raising a couple conserative white guys myself, I find nothing wrong with being represented by one!

Roberts never met a tree he did not want to cut down, he acutally HATES the environment. How tragic.
