With the FBI in town and the lead prosecutor out of town, the heat seems to be rising under the Natalee Holloway investigation in Aruba.
One witness claims to be able to place all three boys at a popular racquetball club located approximately 200 yards from the Marriott Hotel where the boys first claimed to have dropped off Natalee Holloway.
If true, that report could clear up one longstanding concern with the boys story. The beaches around the hotels are known to be covered with people well into the night, it might have been preferable for the boys to have taken Natalee Holloway to a more discreet location, like a racquetball club, had they been seeking some privacy.
Unconfirmed reports suggest Joran Van der Sloot, an athlete and accomplished young tennis player, may have frequented the racquetball club a few times a week. It's unclear if he had 24/7 access, or if the club somehow acted as a possible after hours party location for some, even a small group without the knowledge of club management.
As to the where abouts of Natalee Holloway, it is at least suspected that some design may have gone into the handling of those details. It has been speculated that Paul(us) Van der Sloot, Joran's Father, may have played a role. If true, it is likely that his experience and expertise in the law may have led him to layer the puzzle surrounding the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.
By making arrangements to dispose of her body, or disposing of it himself, he may have insulated his young son from interrogators bent on getting to the truth by witholding details, even from his son. Also, given the emerging details of where the boys may have actually been that night, it is possible that they did bury her initially in the sand, as an alleged early confession suggested, with the body having been re-located some time later. Developing. See below.
NBC News has learned that there is a new witness in the case. This witness claims to know where Holloway's body was placed. The witness is reportedly cooperating with Aruban police. No other details about the witness or what that person witnessed is available.

who is coaching the -joran boy now on the inside, is it several of them daily, telling him he gonna be allright? who is reinforcing his seams so they dont burst?.....just call them the monkey see monkey doo..
that witness is now a new liar on their team i imagine, and then they will prolly get rid of him, what a tangled web these monkeys weave...sending the world on sprees of chases, only to emerge as the heros...beginning to get disgusted by the minute....let the games begin, i wonder if any of them will want medal for heroism after they lead everyone yet on another chase...peace to the world and hope the rest of the world does not follow yet another corrupt cover up, obvisouly aruba adopted jamaicas and curacaos style.....

So this blows the last story that Kalpoes dropped off J and NH at Marriot and then went home.
It also shows them acting in a highly supicious manner, trying to hide their identies, thus their whereabouts at that moment. This knowledge they had -- that someone had driven right by the car, as Jossy said this morning on FOX Dayside, and looked right them -- had to be why they had previuosly changed the story to bring them closer to (~200 yds) being "near the Marriot."
Her they are trying to cover up wwhere they are and the fact they are together and not separated.
Now Kalpoes should at least be brought back to prison.
They ARE criminals -- lying yet again in obstructing an investigation and now even more, being implicated as "complicitors," perhaps even in the actual crime, rather than just "after the fact!"
"
Story #17 ???
Each tim we always get closer and closer to the truth until finaly.... BINGO!

Just saw a report on Scared Monkeys that indicates a 2nd witness met w/Aruban Polis at 9:00 am this morning providing more details about a "possible location" of where Natalee "had been".
This story appears to have loose ends. Also, SM's is reporting that Aruban Radio Station (Canal 90) is stating that the hairs on the duct tape are not Natalees.
Regarding the location of the body, I'm am extremely curious as to what role this ind. claims to have played and how they were "previed" to this apparent location.

Speaker - you are obviously throwing out some pretty broad accusations that YOU can't back up.
Who cares who is the hero as long as either Natalee is found alive, or the body so there is closure for family & friends, and they can proceed with a murder/manslaughter case.
You have NO PROOF that there is a a cover-up or corruption in the Aruba Polis or Judicial System - total irresponsible speculation. Just because you don't like their methods or expediency. Also name a coverup in Curacaos.
"what a tangled web these monkeys weave...sending the world on sprees of chases, only to emerge as the heros..."
Are you inferring that Aruban natives are monkeys? Just because they have tan skin? That surely smacks of racism/bigotry. I don't think Dan should tolerate it on his site. There is no other way to interpret your saying. The original quote that Sir Walter Scott wrote, "Oh, what a tangled web we weave/when first we practice to deceive." has NOTHING to do with monkeys or other types of simians. Extremely poor taste, judgement and choice of words.

caldrmn,
Which comment are you applauding. Do you realize you can't just refer "to the above comment" because someone else may type when you do and your comment may come in an unexpected place. Here it seems you are adding accolades to a bunch of NONSENSE and misconstrued attempts at logic and clear thinking, which it clearly is not. It's not even written well!
You're giving credence to an incredible bunch of non-logic, without any basis in fact.
Which comment do you agree with?

I wonder why we haven't heard how successful Deepak's lawyer was in getting the injunction. They were supposed to appear at 9AM for that. Given how quickly judges seem to rule there, you would think that we would have heard the results of that hearing by now.
Posted by: annie | Monday, July 25, 2005 at 02:27 PM
Not critizing anyones comment(s), but I think we can all agree that "posssible location" and "had been" is a far cry from knowing "where the body is located". That's apple, orange.

Dan,
I sure agree with you and think it bears repeating that some readers (even some who have commented in this topic) do not do that very thing they are here for -- reading!
They seem to have missed some basic english definitions of words like:
"claimed"
"may have"
"might"
"if true"
"suspected"
Then they argue a point based on their non-reading skills, expecting others to be interested in reading that!!!

i think we are getting ahead of ourselves here. thanks dan for the update. i've been keeping track of this forever. i am curious as to why everyone (well, everyone posting anyway) is giving me the impression that they think this "witness" is someone we haven't heard of before. i think it could be anyone of the five men (joran, paul, kalpoe brothers, croes) - they couldn't live with themselves anymore, or, wanted to strike a deal....is there anything in the press that says that this is a new individual who claims to know any of this?
so, i've heard that there was an argument re: someone talking to one of the kalpoe's in jail about this "sighting" at the raquetball club, i've heard that someone claims to know where the body "is", someone drove by and supposedly saw joran and the brothers in the car by the raquetball club, in the dark, and one or two of the boys were leaning back in their seats tryig to hide, and now the witness says he/she knows where the natalee was (not is)..can somemone tell me without a doubt what the heck is going on? is this one witness, more than one, or is any (or all) of this bull???
Posted by: york gal | Monday, July 25, 2005 at 02:42 PM
Well there are supposed to be 2 witnesses - ok first one says the Kalpoes were out with Joran at 3 -4 in the morning - if they believe this then the Kalpoes will undoubtedly be rearrested - if the other witness knows where the body IS like they said today - then the case should be over in a few hours right? and with the million $$ reward - I would think it would be over by the end of today! does anybody really believe that??
Posted by: Jan | Monday, July 25, 2005 at 02:49 PM
David Kock, Satish Kalpoes attorney, states that "this is just a regular case blown out of proportion"; I can't find a table of crime statistics for the island, so I don't know how frequently gang rapes and murders take place there.
Thanks again for your blog and updates. If enough thought energy is generated, the public focus won't fade and justice on Natalees behalf will prevail.
I am the proud father of a remarkable young woman who knows well that she has done some scary things while growing up and just like in Natalees case, didn't/doesn't deserve to be harmed just because of a lapse in judgement. I pray for both her and her poor mom every day.
Dan--still waiting for somewhere to donate to your blog.

WOW ! The tennis club is close to the Marriott Hotel. The FBI profilers have has always said that the suspects ( in any case and in this case also ) always go to a place they are familiar with. I read several times about Joran and what a great tennis player he was. Even his mother mentioned that he represented Aruba in some sort of tennis thing.
I think that they moved her on the second night.. the Monday, because what were they doing that night ?
Why did no one in the polis think of that club if its so close to the Marriott ? Aruba is a small place and people seemd to know about Joran and tennis .

Regarding the witness, and location(?) of Natalees body, draw your own conclusion based on the translation below (i.e., possibile location, is, has been, etc.) On the subject of the 1M reward, read the language. You don't need Websters. It clearly states "to find Natalee alive". Talk about a circus, first someone knows where the body is, then its reported possibly located and had been, then the family offers a 1M reward to find Natalee alive. You figure.
>>> Update from Today’s Diario: (partial translation)
. . . This person [referring to the witness] left a house to go to his own house in the late hours of the night [in question] and as he was walking to his house, he passed on a dirt road where a car was parked. As he was walking past the car he saw three men sitting in the car. One which was white put his hand to his face to cover his face while the other who has sitting next to him turned his head so that he could not be seen and the person who was sitting on the seat behind in the car quickly lowered himself to that he could not be seen at all.
After a few days when he the news of Natalee was in the news media this witness noticed that the three persons he saw in the car were Van der Sloot and the two Kalpoe siblings.
Because of fear the witness did not come forward to give police authorities this key information, but after three weeks the DIARIO team came to find the witness and convinced this person that in the interest of all people that have something on the line in this case, the witness decided to cooperate with DIARIO and with the police also and so the special DIARIO team took him to the police station at Bubali where the detectives interrogated this person.
Informations which relate to this testimony came partially from KIA where some person who was jailed together with the Kalpoe brothers heard this and that and so the information came to the special team of DIARIO and finally the witness was obtained and now the police has a better view on certain parts of the investigation.
It should also be mentioned that this is not the only key information but that there a lot of important information that in the coming days can determine the path of the investigation on the disappearance of Natalee.

just have bad feelings about deepak-- i think that he did a lot of the dirtiest work that nite. maybe natalee wasn't quite dead or severely drugged or near death in that back seat, and joran and satish, too scared shitless to continue with anything, order deepak to go and finish her off. (sorry for that language)
anyone help me figure out the significance of all the lies they told? because they sure as hell were strategic. why the lighthouse? to cover for what. why natalee "falling" as she got out of the car? to prove or show what? the beach seems to be to justify being in that area, so if her body or traces of her body were found there (where she was possibly originally buried, or nearby) they were covered. (assuming people believed joran's story that he left her there)
this is nuts.
Posted by: shyne235 | Monday, July 25, 2005 at 03:12 PM
i think they should check the tennis club for any tools that could have been used to dig a temporary grave-- shovels, rollers (go dry off a court) but would also smooth out sand, tarps, etc.
Posted by: shyne235 | Monday, July 25, 2005 at 03:24 PM
I have been suspecting for some time, as well as publicly publishing the notion that if the Holloway-Twitty clan would simply change the language on the "Reward" poster they perhaps would get some more cooperation. Money or any other reward must be attainable in order for action. To let people know that there's $75K, 25K, then $150-175K, and $200K that is unattainable is worthless. Yet, if one has the possibility of actually getting some of said bux, people are far more apt to take risks.
As for me...I believe that the "Fearsome Threesome" either by accident or otherwise are involved with Natalee's death and original burial. Unbeknownst to the three, her body was relocated only temporarily (hence, Equusearch’s gravesite), then found her final resting place in the calm of angelic dolphins.
This would indeed support JVDS and Kalpoe's lie detection. They in fact, don't know what pappa VDS did vis-a-vie the relocation; nor does the bloak that assisted him in transfering Natalee to the Park. Why? He went back and single handedly put Natalee's body to final rest.

This is different from the on camera ststements made by Jossy Mansur on fox last night and this morning (DAYSIDE) where he said a person was "driving a car" when he saw them
"The gardener signed a statement with the police saying that between 2:30 am and 3:00 am he past by the racquet club and saw Deepak’s car. Joran in driver’s seat, Deepak, beside him, and Satish in back. He >>> drove <<< by very slowly and Joran covered his face while Satish laid down in back seat. Natalee was not seen in the car with the boys."

Lots of interesting thoughts here and Dan thanks for the update.
It makes complete sense to isolate her from the group (that's a criminal action for persons bent on killing or harming someone).
I'm reminded of something I thought the minute I heard reports that Joran was the son of a judge. At the time it was reported he was a judge/high official and instantly I said to myself (well there goes finding her alive). The very people who investigate would be there very people Joran's father would see on a regular basis in his line of work. Taking it a step further if they belonged to any special clubs, someone who have access to that clubhouse. I still do not dismiss the father. If anyone knew somebody who could dispose of a body, an islander, it would surely be an official who was exposed to the criminal elements of the island on a regular basis.
Whoever said new witness or someone we already heard from....I'm following you, in fact, I would venture to go further to say that there is a small cirle of folks who do know what happened. They are all protecting friends, relatives, with a desire to keep this all quiet so as not to scare off tourists or see loved ones or friends doing jail time. I think they did not at all anticipate:
The tenacity of Beth Twitty.
The overwhelming media exposure.
The involvement of the FBI.
This microscopic review of their sloppy detective work that is exposing so many flaws in the investigation process.
It's an embarrassment to the island and now I think we will see people starting to CYA ( cover your A$$.
IMHO I personally do not see hope for her still being alive. I do think what happened will be found out and for the family, I think it will bring closure. IMO Beth Twitty deserves to know what happened to her daughter once and for all and if possible, to take the body back to Alabama and lay her to rest. This mother needs to do that and should be able to do that.

What if----------
What if the boys (all 3) really do not know where Natalee is, physically.
What if they really don't know if she is dead or not.
What if "something bad happened" and dad took over.
Told Joran and the brothers to keep telling stories - because he knew it was
1. OK to lie to the police.
2. Lies would confuse the issue.
3. Lies would throw off investigators.
What if PVDS and his henchmen (probably people in law enforcemen and his band of criminal friends there on the island) are truly the only people who KNOW the truth?
That therefore ensures the safety of his son.
For all we know Natalee was either injured or not appearing to be breathing when the boys panicked - and PVDS took over.
Just some what-ifs I have thought about.

I agree completely.
This is DEEPAK'S big chance to right now really show some humanity and maturity -- perhaps even get a "new heart" from God that will at least be to some credit, if he would do as you say, "the right thing."
This is perhaps his last chance before he goes back to jail and "looses" more "games."

Joran's little world has basically come to an end. He didn't spend much money on gambling...it was a means to an end. Living in a resort country like he does, he had a constant inflow of young American girls who probably loosened up a bit while on vacation. He used the casino to pay $2 per hand and prey on his next victims. When I say victims, I do not mean murder victims, but rather victims that he could score in a sexual manner with. He had it all going for him...looks, probably good BS, a bunch of new faces each week who wouldn't stay around long, some friends who could get him whatever drugs and he wanted, and his own pad where he could get it all done. The Kalpoes had a car Joran needed, access to drugs, and a good looking friend to lure the prey in. They surely didn't get lucky based on their looks. I've met their kind...the only way they could get lucky was to have something a girl would want...like drugs...or they took advantage of a bad situation when it presented itself.
Let's face it. If Joran had Natalee ready to go have sex with him, he would have taken her to his apartment. His mom wasn't home and he had the perfect set up. I would bet Natalee passed out from GHB before they got to his house and all three of them had their way with her. She wouldn't wake up, wouldn't breathe...so they disposed of her...somehow, someway. The beach is a likely place to say they left her because it was nearby and a lot of things could have happened to her there.
I hope the truth comes out soon. I would love to interrogate the little wimps myself. They will get their due someday and I hope we all get to see it happen.
Posted by: texjsl | Monday, July 25, 2005 at 03:59 PM
Instead of his apartment it was more than likely somewhere in the Tennis club, that is where they originally took her. I doubt with what was in mind ( Not murder.) that he would have taken her to his house.

While on Fox News Dayside Jossy says……..
The gardener was driving slowly cause Deepak’s car was blocking the road..He got a great look in the car and it was only those 3 in the car no Natalee. (I still think she could have been in the back seat hidden as Satish jumped forward to block the right part of the car) Also stated that Joran said that Deepak was in charge. Was in charge of the burial?? He said yes..
So not sure where the "walking" came in, but he said the car was blocking the road.. if he was walking that wouldn't have mattered.

Sarah,
Scared Monkeys has two reports. One says driving, the other walking. You are right - driving makes more sense.
Posted by: DennisAOK | Monday, July 25, 2005 at 04:11 PM
“Hey, my gardener saw all 3 of you at the racquet club that morning” and Deepak gets mad and throws the dominoes all over the table. Jossy and his crew hunt down the gardener and convince him to go to the police even though he is scared. No reward money in question here, gardener isn’t getting any. "
I wonder who said "my gardner" Kind of coincidental that someone in jail or a guard had a gardner that just happen to see the boys in the middle of the night..

>>very good point A. The boys mother made me just want to give her a hug when they were in jail. You could sense her confusion, her concern that her boys did anything (?) wrong and her sense of confidence that she believed what they told her. *The rest of their lives* this incident will haunt them. How many times do we read about individuals who got away with a crime and found them 20 years later a shadow of their promising younger selves. There is something about the human mind that cannot handle knowing a horrible thing was done at the hand of one's self and did nothing to help. Bringing forth the truth can be cleansing and is the honorable thing to do.
Justice: I think Tito knows so much because he's young, he's probably more into the younger crowd of the island and hear's more than someone like Jossy-the-Hud.
Tex: I think you are on the right track and I do believe Joran hung out his favorite haunts to pickup tourist girls. YUP! You betcha.
What did the Kalpoes brothers have that Joran needed? A car!

I agree with Texjsl.. I think they gave Natalie some type of date rape drug.. too much probably..they raped her...she died..they didn't know what to do... called Daddy and then Daddy guided them from there... Now a beautiful 18 year old lies somewhere on that island, waiting for her wonderful Mother to bring her back home to rest.. She deserved so much better than this... Those "scum bags" and anyone who assisted them deserve the maximum penalty.. and God will see that they all get it one day. My prayers are with Natalie's family... Natalie is already at peace.
