I've been informed that at a press conference today investigators have asked anyone that may have information as regards a sneaker - K-SWISS (White and Blue) size 14 possibly seen or found near the Marriott or the Fisherman's Hut area to please contact the Police.
Earlier reports have suggested that a search at the home of Joran Va der Sloot turned up a shoe which may have been covered with mud, or muck. The shoe had no match. The last bit of information hasn't been independently confirmed.

Oooooh now we are finally getting somewhere.

That's okay bamaguy...I said it once and I'll say it again, dynamite comes in small packages.
Boy, finding that shoe would be such a good thing. No way to fake that...his DNA would be in that shoe.
Posted by: TexasGal | Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 06:11 PM

Everyone describes this as a beautiful, small, friendly island.Paradise at it's best.
To me,the nontourist areas look dry, brown, barren, desolate and scary.
Thank God for her Mother!!!
Had she not gone on her crusade this would have been long forgotten.
Hang in there,Mrs.Twitty!!!
Go get 'em!

wow that is so good....bring in the public
Give me a Break
Has anyone noticed that noone from Aruba says anything negative about Aruba( not even the people who appear on the camera
Nothing with any semblance of criticism is ever spoken about Aruba
Vinda de Souza( HT lawyer) even speaks in glowing terms of Aruba.
No place is that pretty like baby in a crib.
People with nothing to hide hide nothing
Posted by: seedyrum | Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 06:17 PM
Some Aruban is using that shoe for a planter...where I come from it would need a license plate
Posted by: Nuke Aruba | Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 06:17 PM
seems very likely to me this could have been the pair of shoes joran was wearing that night since he was wearing a white and blue shirt that night, was he not? gotta match and look good! now you just have to figure out where might he lose a shoe and why? id have to imagine if it was possible for him to recover the shoe, he would of doneso for the lack of evidence so it would of had to have been lost somewhere where he couldn't recover it.

Peggy, lots of islands are this way. Beautiful on the touristy side yet not so hot where the general population lives.

Somehow,I knew Nuke Aruba would come up with a good one!

I am still hung on the idea that the shoe was what they were looking around for when they were spotted by that witness.
Posted by: TexasGal | Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 06:22 PM
Pics from C&C's that night will show his shoes...especially if dancing on a stage...Dan..are there any horse farms on Aruba?...
Posted by: Nuke Aruba | Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 06:22 PM
Oh, the saga of the Joran's shoe.
For want of a shoe a case was lost.
Might have been a good idea to ask around about that show before they drained that pond. Or were they looking for a chair on the pond?
Posted by: Jessie | Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 06:24 PM

Posted by: Swisscheese | Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 06:26 PM
Texasgal:I am well aware that this is common in most Carribean islands.I've been to several, but not Aruba. It has been compared to Grand Cayman, as far as the wealth and landscape, which I've been to many times.I'm done with the islands.

My son's K-Swiss shoes say USA 12, UK 11 and
EUR 46 (don't know what that means) and says made in China

Rosebud,
The European size of your sons shoe is a 46. I wear a Ladies Size 7 and in Europe the shoes I buy are a 37 or a 38. Shoes in the UK are sized a little different than the rest of Europe.
Posted by: Librarian | Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 06:34 PM
Rosebud, thanks for answering....I guess K-Swiss is an American Manufacturer
Posted by: Librarian | Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 06:36 PM
I'll have to tell him that he wears a size 46..he is 19 and thinks he has small feet (size 12) for a man. :-)
Posted by: Rosebud | Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 06:39 PM
Even if said shoe is found and it contains some of Natalee's DNA. Proves what? That they were togather. This we already know. So unless blood is found it does not prove much.
Posted by: blink | Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 06:41 PM

Posted by: blink
I was thinking blood or maybe she threw up and they would be able to find traces of date rape drug.
Posted by: TexasGal | Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 06:46 PM
If they found mud like from the pond, or sand like on the beach, or whatever like from the dump, it may tell them where she is or was....if there is blood or tissue it would indicate something bad....if just vomit, it may? have traces of a drug
Question: Why when the one shoe was lost did he keep the other shoe?
Posted by: Librarian | Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 06:54 PM
Hey - Check the couch cushions for the other shoe! LOL!

Posted by: RebaH | Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 06:56 PM
blink....blood on a shoe?...from a missing person?...happens all the time?
Posted by: Nuke Aruba | Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 07:00 PM
If they have the one shoe, why can't they track whatever debris is on it to a place on the island?
Posted by: Shari | Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 07:00 PM
Maybe Joran was going to try and get a match...in case mommee said"Joran where are the new shoes I bought for you?"...he sure couldnt say he lost them..
