Judge: Joran Van der Sloot Can Be Questioned By FBI

Was just informed that court results are now out in Aruba. All of the DNA evidence is said to have been thrown out - however, the tests can be conducted again through the proper procedures. Defense attorneys had challenged the testing as they claimed to have not been given enough time to argue against the procedure.

In possibly the most important development, a judge has ruled that suspect Joran Van der Sloot can be interrogated by both Dutch and FBI officials.

Yes. That is excellent.

They can use that as an investigative tool, to tell them which answers are straight forward, as in "he believes it's true," and which statements are misleading or hiding something.

It is a type of "voice stress analysis" that we all do when we hear someone speaking and their voice begins to "shake," "vary" or "pause" or "quiver" etc. We all make assesments like this when people tell us things. This is just sophisticated software that does it in a more scientific and consistent manner. It can actually be done on any kind of audio, whether live or recorded, on a tv or phone or in an interrogation room.

They have already done some assements using this and it's why the private investagator has gone in some certain directions.

The reason I ask is: if Joran used a date-rape drug on Natalee--he may have also done it before.

I have been lurking and posted comments a few times. I usually don't follow high profile cases because in America we are saturated with this stuff. The last ones for me were OJ and William Kennedy Smith. OJ's best friend driving that white truck with OJ in the back threatening to end it all. (i believe he had a gun). I thought right then and there that was an admission of guilt. I was hooked especially because of the courtroom hearings live on TV. The same with the live courtroom drama of the William Kennedy Smith case, where he was accused of raping a girl down in Florida, after leaving a late night club drinking. And of course with - the notorious "Uncle Teddy".

Both, sadly, let go free.

Now there is Natalie.
I remember being shocked when OJ was proclaimed innocent. So much circumstantial evidence, but never a murder weapon. Timelines, witnesses, DNA samples. OJ priviliged.

William Kennedy Smith's accuser never had a chance in hell testifying against the big boys of Mass. They had torn stockings, sperm, etc. When Big, bloated Ted was on the stand, he ate the prosecuting attorney, Maura Lash, for breakfast. She couldn't shut him up. William Smith - priviliged.

I'm afraid that Natalie will never be found and that the priviliged Urine and papa have done a good job of making sure that never happens.
Think about OJ. They searched high and low for his bloody clothes. That murder was so barbaric, so much blood that it splattered all over the place. What happened to the bloody clothes? Blood in OJs house, on socks, but no clothes.

AFter all this time that has gone by, not one stitch of evidence. I also think that the closed knit group in law enforcement has somehow been part of this, even if it is remaining silent or looking the other way in certain instances. I'm sorry to say but I feel a sense of lost hope for this one.

Amen to that FloJo! I also was spellbound by the OJ case, but have hope, they did convict Scott Peterson. The dirt always comes out in the laundry "so to speak", it may take awhile, but the truth eventually comes out.

The inmates of the insane asylum are now in charge of the Natalee Holloway investigation.
The mother is one move away from a straight-jacket. Tim Miller is being used as a publicity stunt for continued media attention to this case. One cannot help but feel sorry for Miller now that he has been assigned to the garbage dump. Jossy Mansur (one of the local Godfathers) is digging up witnesses in the backyard of his tabloid newspaper.
The only bright spot now in this whole fiasco is Arlene Schipper. What a cutie she is.

karen and her assistant prosecutor (who were effusively praised by a lady arube lawyer on greta the other night) have done another bang up job of failing to get a proper order for DNA samples.
never had confidence is any prosecutor that wont have a press conference, even if they cant say anything. here, they can't even do the procedural law right.

They have no right in foreign affairs. I'll bet Natalee's parents know where Natalee is. If they (the guys) did kill her, they are excellent at covering a crime (no evidence). I have a 17 year old and he is not that careful. Why don't they check Natalee's mom/her family's phone records. Chances are they know more than they are telling. Mom is to controlled (loves the media attention-she gets dressed up everyday-now if you were a parent in true dire straights who you get up and dress or would you be an emotional train wreck?-clothing and makeup would be the farthest from my mind) Natalee's out there...
