Was just informed that court results are now out in Aruba. All of the DNA evidence is said to have been thrown out - however, the tests can be conducted again through the proper procedures. Defense attorneys had challenged the testing as they claimed to have not been given enough time to argue against the procedure.
In possibly the most important development, a judge has ruled that suspect Joran Van der Sloot can be interrogated by both Dutch and FBI officials.

Play times over Joran

Bad and Good!
Bad the DNA thown out (hope they kept copies somewhere)
Good that JVDS is up for more interrogation and I hope it's INTERROGATION and not just talk over the dinner table and pass the bisquits.

Now squeal like a pig Yoran.....:)
Posted by: Kelli | Friday, July 29, 2005 at 03:17 PM
Yippee!! Maybe the FBI will make Joran crack.
Posted by: Sarah | Friday, July 29, 2005 at 03:17 PM
Hmm...Why does Joran's lawyer want to argue against the taking of DNA samples? I'm sure he's really innocent.
Posted by: MrsBixby | Friday, July 29, 2005 at 03:18 PM
yeah, maybe the FBI may even ask him questions about Natalee instead of what he's going to take when he goes off to college!
One could easily go off on a tanget of "but there was no crime"..........EXCEPT..........
if these creeps were not guilty of something they would be filling in every freaking minute they did that night and not giving a million stories.
That right there is what paints their guilt.

I hope they make the spoiled brat cry like a baby. Anita is not going to be able to help her baby out.

Woo HOO! Ooga shaka ooga ooga ooga shaka!
Watch the facade crack.
On the DNA, they'll get more, perhaps HAIR, BLOOD rather than saliva.
Posted by: FloridaPatty | Friday, July 29, 2005 at 03:22 PM
and John, yes. Being questioned by the FBI and being question by Aruban police are like night and day.
Posted by: FloridaPatty | Friday, July 29, 2005 at 03:24 PM
I wonder if the FBI will start the questioning right away or will they give Joran some more time to prepare.
Posted by: Curious | Friday, July 29, 2005 at 03:27 PM
Does that mean they can question the Kalpoe brothers too? The crack lies in the Kalpoe brothers. They can get to Joran through one of the Kalpoe brothers.

After the lake draining--the witnesses--the landfill search--my optimism has been diminished--
I pray they break him and the truth comes out--
If not we are at square one GOOOOOO FBI
Posted by: rons | Friday, July 29, 2005 at 03:30 PM
I really do hope they get some answers from those boys.
Posted by: ev | Friday, July 29, 2005 at 03:32 PM
While it is a bit of a delay in having to revisit the DNA testing process, at least they can do so. Plus at this point I am not sure they have much to test against, but am certain they will reinitiate the process.
I am very pleased to hear he can be interrogated.
Posted by: annie | Friday, July 29, 2005 at 03:32 PM
Thank God there is justice after all!!! Thanks Dan you have just made my day!!!!!!!

If I recall correctly, lying to the FBI is a FEDERAL OFFENSE punishable by up to FIVE YEARS in an AMERICAN FEDERAL PRISON. And yes, the U.S. and the Netherlands have an extradition treaty in place.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but if I'm not wrong it might be a good time for him to start telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
Posted by: Anonymous | Friday, July 29, 2005 at 03:33 PM
Oh this make me deliriously happy..: )
No wonder Juran didnt want to leave the jail.
Now we will get some real answers...
although we will get some lies as well.
Juran is really got the lying part down pat
I wonder if he knows how to tell the truth.
He should realize that the body is what will prove his innocence if he is and take away the cloud that is doomed to follow him the rest of his life
People with nothing to hide hide nothing

Aren't there any security cameras at the racket clubb too? Shouldn't there have been some security cameras somewhere on that island that night that would have picked up some activity?
Even the next night
And the next night.
Where were these guys going?
Like what time did Deepak leave the internet cafe -- by any security camera?
Was Joran ever at the Wyndham that Monday night =- by the security cameras?
Who was going in and out of the Holiday Inn?
Cameras people, cameras. Did anybody collect film or get court orders from these gambling establishments to look at cameras?
I'd like to see interaction of Joran and his dad that night at the Holiday Inn.
And does McDonald's have security cameras? The dad said he picked Joran up there - any sighting?
Down the street there - any sight of the cars of these folks?
Posted by: ustt | Friday, July 29, 2005 at 03:35 PM
Actually this is good news for Joran. The FBI won't be allowed to question him without his attorney present. That's a better deal than he has now.
The FBI are good, but they're not that good. They can't force anyone to answer their questions.
Posted by: TheEnd | Friday, July 29, 2005 at 03:37 PM
Last night on Greta, Arlene said that even if the
judge grants interogation to the Dutch officials and FBI Joran still has the right to remain silent. Hopefully he won't. Will his lawyer be present during these interogations?
Posted by: nancy | Friday, July 29, 2005 at 03:38 PM
Wouldn't you just like to be a fly on the wall while the FBI is there??!!!

That will not apply to a non-American overseas, unfortunately.

Great question. The tape probably recyles after a month or so, however, so incriminating evidence might be long gone.

Posted by: kell | Friday, July 29, 2005 at 03:42 PM
Finally!!! I hope the FBI go in there like the " cowboys" we are always accused of being. Dish out some good ol fashioned US style interrogation techniques on big goofball Urine and his two cowering curry brother friends.
I am so ready for Urine to squirm finally!!! I bet he will cry like the big baby he is, and Mama and Papa won't be there to help this time! Now we just have to have the other two rounded up again and let the games begin!!!

What I think is irresponsible is for news media to do wall to wall coverage of a news story and then have no followup except a 10-second nothing report.
I wish they would never do a story if they aren't going to follow it completely. Otherwise it really does look like all they did cover it for was their own profit $$ and not for the good of the family or to get the public's help.
If it was important to cover wall to wall - it's important enough to report on all the way. Otherwise they were just ghouls making ratings.
grrrrr
I didn't follow this story because I wanted to be entertained! I followed it because I'm a citizen and a mom and I want to know about this Aruba place and what appears to be their lack of ability to not do coverups.

I'm starting to think that if Natalee is dead then someone very experienced got rid of her body. No evidence what so ever? Sounds like someone hired a professional.

The Dutch and the FBI will want to isolate Joran just like Sadam....he will likely be subjected to some painless but disorienting conditions in an effort to lower his defenses and break him. Joran is like a virus and this interrogation regime will either break him or make him mentally tougher than ever….meaning they will probably hear another 20 or so version of the events with Natalee or he may just quite talking all together…to anyone. I wonder if his attorney gets to be present for the ordeal.

Glad I could give you a laugh. Its unfortunate that the way this case has been handled is also laughable. That is if is wasn't so sad.
I say Goofy and Curry boys will finally be the ones crying. I just wish I was there to view the sight of that!! hee hee

I have given up that any evidence of a crime scene will be found. They will all be yukking it up on September 5 as their stinkin' pathetic lives are back to where they were !
The lawyers might be playing for TIME on the DNA. The lawyers drag their feet in approving the getting some new DNA. Then it has to go away some where to be tested against anything found, yadda yadda.
Then it is September 4 and the DNA is out there being tested somewhere.
Then Deepak flies the koop back to the Surinam
stinkin' cesspool where he was spawned by the devil himself.
Then they want to search the VD Slime property. But because the house has been rented out, ( as seen on this website ) too late, any DNA is now contaminated by the rentees.
What a crock of shit this case is.

Good news!! But I wonder ...
If Joran has an attorney present and has the right to remain silent, how can the FBI make him talk?
Not being negative--just want to know what methods they might use.
Also, will Joran have an attorney present when he turns 18--or will that change? Doesn't he have a birthday coming up soon?

So is the FBI going to be allowed to question the Kalpoe bros too? Any new word about the pond? Are they still working on the pond or just the landfill?
Posted by: dalejrfan | Friday, July 29, 2005 at 04:01 PM
Kat Gram:
Wait a minute! Did I get that part of your post correctly? The VDS's have been able to rent their premices? Tell me you're kidding or I am making a huge mistake!
Next, as far as I know there is NO statute on limitations regarding murder. Therefore, not to worry; if the Kalpoe brothers go to Suriname and the VDS's go to hell or Holland, no big deal.
I have been waiting for this moment since day 2. They (Aruban LE) fussed over our FBI and though the smoke and mirrors bit regarding "advisory capacity" until our G-men left, now baby, NOW they are yours.
I suspect that they will goof him into a point of no return and he (Joran) implicates everyone who was ever involved, even his mother.
