So if the Dutch Air Force and Equusearch are 99% sure that NH is not on the Island...then where is she and how did she get there?
It is amazing to me that the Aruban Polis have not rounded up a 200 or 300 people and sweated them down for what they may know...how about all the small time drug dealers hanging around the HI in and the Marriott, how about the bartenders and the dealers at the ca$inos and the bartenders at C&C's, the alibis used by Steve Croes and Lorenzo, the local cab drivers i.e. where were the parties that night, Joran's connections, Joran's teachers, Joran's classmates, his computer networker friends i.e. on myspace, etc. All the destinations of phone calls made from public and private phones at C&C's, the Marriott, HI, etc, between 11:00 PM and 4:00 AM the night she disappeared, all calls recieved by the polis, and the polis chief during the same period, big gas purchasers at the Marinas the day after she went missing, etc, searchs of all unoccupied houses and buildings by Equusearch dogs, etc.

Dman,
You bring up good points. It's astounding to me that they don't have the evidence to prove that a crime has been committed. All the more reason to believe a cover-up is in the works. More pressure needs to be applied to the locals. I haven't heard about the big gas purchase before, but it supports my gut theory that she is no longer on the island. Why aren't they looking elsewhere?

On Fox News recently, A Diario (popular Aruban newspaper)reporter claimed to have access to a writing or recording of an interview/ interrogation of Joran VDS by Aruban police. The Diario reporter claimed that Joran stated: "We buried her.." and "I think Deepak raped her then buried her." If this is not true, that reporter and paper will lose whatever credibility they had becuase the reporter is claiming to have seen and or heard a transcript of Joran saying these things. If they are true, I can't understand why attnys. et al, commenting on the networks, maintain that without a body or some forensic evidence, there can be no case vs. Joran. Uh, someone please clue me in---isn't what Joran said known as a "confession"? If he said "We buried her", he is confessing to either A: murder (assuming she was alive when buried) or B: being an accessory to murder after the fact, assuming she was dead when buried. Furhermore, his statement that he believes Deepak raped her etc., augments the charge (accessory after the fact) as it intimates Joran's knowledge of the crime and subsequent obstruction of justice (aiding a felon, etc.). As if that weren't enough, in Aruba, when someone is missing for a given period, the last person seen with her/him may be charged with kidnapping. In other words, the presumption of innocence no longer applies to the individual in such a case. Under normal circumstances, this would be harsh. However, given the fact that Joran has lied many times regarding his involvment, such a charge would be justified, fair and approrpiate. We know Joran has lied several times as dictated by sheer logic. He has submitted several statements of his version of his interactions with Natalie at the time she went missing and these statements are mutually exclusive; that is, they logically cannot all be true. Yet, former prosecutors regularly interviewed on Fox et al continue to blather about forensic evidence. Yes, it would be helpful but Joran's big motuh has given authorities more than they need. Circumstantial evidence alone drove the Petersen case until the bodies were discovered. Imagine Scott Petersen saying, before Lacy and Connor's bodies were found: "I buried her." Would he have walked out of prison had the bodies not been located? You could argue that was in the US and Natalie's case is not but judging from the presumption of innocence issue, Aruba is as tough as we are when it comes to whether someone can be held for questioning, charged, etc. (though their police investigative skills are in need of dire help.)

Hi,
It is so, so, obvious to the world that Aruba has a corrupt justice system. Obviously, Joran had connections through his father! The current judge obviously was paid off by Joran's father, who is also a substitute judge. The legal system should be ashamed that the world sees this fact, and no doubt will now loose many tourists on their island. You lawyers that believe in your laws and worked hard to be lawyers, should fight against this preferential treatment of suspects because they know the judge.
I hope that the Aruban people will speak up on this case. There is power with people, and I hope the Arubans will over throw this corrupt situation. It really doesn't matter if you are Aruban, Chinese, or American, this type of injustice is wrong and should not be tolerated by any human being. We all know, that statements were misplaced or torn up and corruption exists. Please, for Natalie's sake, and for your own sake, and your family's sake, fight the injustice.
Bless You,
Becky Watkins
