Just heard that the Kalpoe brothers lawyer is protesting the involvement of the FBI.

Additionally, through another source, I have been told that authorities in Aruba do not anticipate DNA tests performed on hair found with duct tape to reveal any evidence as regards the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. I have no corraboration for that report and it is possible that it is the result of the curious nature of the find. Perhaps they are thinking it may be a hoax.

Time will tell.

Update: Don't want to make a different post for this. Shaun at Subject2Discussion said he received some emails as the link for the Ipod audio from the show had some problems. He says it is fixed and available here.

Isn't that interesting. If his clients are innocent, then what is the big deal? They all maintain their innocence, but they won't let anyone search their yards/properties. Methinks thou doth protest too much.

Oh I bet they are protesting the FBI being involved, because the FBI will find out the real evidence that the police are hiding and will probably be able to break the case

Kind of reminds you of the Jack Nicholson quote"The truth, the truth.....you can't handle the truth!"

....Meaning that if the truth gets out, the real higher up bad ones are exposed, along with the 'lions' or drug lords, etc., and I would expect that would be real uncomfortable and downright dangerous for PVDS, etc.

The words of PVDS KEEP coming back to me, "I have to protect my son". They have lawyers to do that, with an average or even a high profile criminal case, if protecting means, protection of ones rights. To desire THAT protection is understandable of any parent. Are we just getting lip service here from Paul, his knowing a drug, kidnapping connection is out there in the world. I still have this gut feeling, the father is involved here, in much more than disposing of Natalee.

Being in the process of raising 4 young adults, (NO IT DOES NOT END AT THEIR 18TH BIRTHDAY), I know I like to have fun with them. But for a parent to hang out in casinos, gambling with their under age child, is way out of line. Looking at this PVDS, I get a sick feeling that the guy is one of those older men who have need to be with younger women, much younger. As a parent of daughters, I can not tell you how many times, walking through a mall, that I did not have to voice my objections, at the stares of 40 some year old men, at my own daughters. PVDS, believed(s) he is powerful, in his own mind anyway. If I was 17 and "something bad" happened to someone I knew, I can think of only two people I would want to protect and lie for, and that would be my parents. Kids do it all the time, there are many abuse cases in the courts, where a child will deny any abuse at the hands of their parents. This Father characture just gives me the creeps! He sure as hell is not someone I would be attracted too. As a matter of fact, if he approached me, even at 47 yrs old, I would tell him to F*** OFF.

I agree with poster M, if they are not lying and are innocent, why protest? They should be happy that with the intervention of the FBI these jerks would be cleared once and for all! Its not good news the possibility that the tape will not show evidence, but at least, can they tell if indeed are NH hairs? or someone else's? Hang in there Mr. and Mrs. Twitty, and Mr. Holloway, the truth will surface sooner or later, hopefully is sooner!

The FBI is good. If they can't find the evidence, they will make it up and no one will ever know the difference. They are that good. If I were Deepak Kalpoe I would be sweating more than PVDS about now.

This is answered very simply: The prime minister sees the problem with the island. If he invites the FBI to do the investigation, no one can blame the local's and everybody will be all happy again. It is called finessing the situation.

This is almost too amusing. Jossy Mansuer of the Dario newspaper writes in his paper a few days ago that polotics should should stay out of the investigation and the PM now sends this letter. I guess Jossy is not supporting the PM?

The more salid dressing that gets dumped on this case by the media and bloggers, the more the theory that Natalee Holloway rejected the 3 guys and they were ticked off and ditched her up by the California Lighthouse and the "eyewitness" fishermen sexually assaulted her, took her out past the feef and tossed the body overboard.

According to me most Arubans want the FBI to be involved all the way. What's important here is that this is done within the framework of Aruban law. I don't think any of us would be happy if this case would be thrown out of court because of judicial errors.

Anyway, she was carrying on about the fact that Aruba has finally asked the FBI to become involved. Cosby must have had a wild hair up her but. She was complaining about the FBI becoming involved in the case. She said something on the order that the FBI is needed here in the US to track terrorist because they're threatening Los Angeles with a nuke, and let the Arubans investigate the case. Cosby, running her mouth at 100 mph, underhandedly, never points out the fact that FBI handle cases all across this country, and outside this country that has nothing to do with terrorist. She was just using the terrorist excuse to attack the Holloway case. The FBI has a special task force designed to track terrorist. Holloway is a US citizen and she has the rights afforded to all US citizens. When a crime is committed outside the US, the FBI investigates if the country allows them too. Her mouth is not running 100 mph complaining about the the FBI doing an investigation in Turkey into the George Smith (from Greenwich, Conn) case, the missing man on the cruise ship, but somehow Cosby feels they should not investigate Holloway case because the FBI is needed to investigate terrorists, a double standard being applied to Holloway.

Maybe practicality is at the heart of this unexpected move. What if the investigation is leading back to a person/persons in the USA? Routinely, the Dutch forensic lab in Hague Netherlands involves other labs in the testing of evidence. But this new move means more than that.

If you have 140 potential witness/suspects in one state and other US tourists who are also witness/suspects all over the USA, what agency is best equipped to share the investigation, other than the FBI?

Tito Lacle insinuted that the prosecutor's "vacation" may not have been entirely voluntary and that it may have been foisted on her so that this deal with the FBI could be implemented. That sounds like he means SHE was objecting to the FBI involvement.

I also wonder about the convenient "retirement" of the police chief, who is a friend of Joran's dad, according to the Holloway's P.I.

Is all this good or bad? Is some trying to correct the mess others have deliberately made? Or trying to make a new one of their own?

These Pictures are basicly the Only REAL evidence that we know of. To me and others they are Very Telling as to mindset. You can construe from these pictures that there was definately a of HEAVY partying atmosphere happening that night. Also I and others have been calling for Interrogations of the other kids that went on the trip with Natalee, and more importantly the Chaperones. I bet most of you dont know that there was only 1 person that was a chaperone that was older than 21 yeras old. To me and others that is a VERY Young age to be called a Chaperone. I could be wrong(as I get this info froma source here in Birmingham). But most if not all of the scenarios that I have seen on this site have been pure conjecture. And then when shown some physical evidence these same people twist it around. It is what it is. Kids Drinking Heavily, and acting in self destructive behavior. I am making no judgements but no one can debate of the circumstance around the mindset. All this talk of date rape drugs,and changing his(Joran) story 14 times is BUNK and Rumor. Show me the proof that this has happened ?
What we here in the USA are shown on a nightly basis is what the Family Wants us to see and hear. We dont hear the "Other" side of the story. You didnt hear Joran's dad go on Dutch TV and say he "NEVER told Joran -No body no case" but I see repeated posts about this as it is Fact.
IMHO- the issues that we and everyone should Focus on is getting at the Truth. How can this happen whent the Mtn Brook kids tell very differing stories and accounts of that night. How can we get to the truth when the Cahperones are so silent and basicly HIDE from the public. here in Brimingham we get a Very differing view of things, many local Talk radio shows have begged for the chaperones to come on and talk of the events. NONE of them have accepted, None of the kids have accepted either. What are they hiding ?
From my perspective, apply the Same Standard to the Mtn Brook Kids and the Chaperone that you apply to Joran and the Kalpoes and the suspect's families.
In an investigation here in the USA the family and parents are the first ones to be questioned, then the immediate close friends are next. This people has NOT happened. Especially the Girl standing below Natalee at the bar, she should be the focus of an interrogation, ASAP...

Just rememeber not to be dupped but to have an open mind, because we don't know many(if any at all) facts. Dont let others twist the events around. And we should all foucs on the Chaperones and the other kids on the trip. So far the route that has happened in focusing on Joran and the kalpoes has GOT NO WHERE....

p.s. whats with all the foul language being used around this site. I dont think Natalee's family would appreciate looking at some of these posts. Some of the posts on here are DISGUSTING...

Bham Dog: I wholeheartedly agree with wanting the truth about the investigation. However, we are not privy to the truth, i.e. the FBI very well may have cautioned the chaperones and the MBHS kids against speaking to the media with the caveat that, if they did speak to the media, to not give any concrete details, as they might hamper the case. That is possibly why the two girls who appeared on Greta earlier this week were so deadpan. My question is: why did they even appear on Greta in the first place if they couldn't talk about it.

And I don't believe that the chaperones were 21 and under. It is my understanding that they were people who teach at MBHS and have chaperoned that senior graduation trip for years. It is also my understanding that the FBI has interrogated all of the individuals who were on that trip.

For what it's worth, I don't believe a word PVDS says, except for the very telling comment that he made to Dave "I'll do anything to protect my son."

I am just as discouraged and frustrated with the way this investigation is going as the next guy, but I have no control over it and have gotten inspiration from Beth Holloway Twitty, who has shown me that patience and perseverance is the best way to handle it...And I truly pray that she will get Natalie back soon.

IMHO we have only see the perspective of the Twity/Holloway family. The USA MEdia is too circumspect in that it shows us a Narrow view of this whole ordeal. And with that logic one can only surmise that the truth is far from what we understand. I am in now ay judging Natalee or her family, but my simpathies lie with her real dad-Dave Holloway. He never wanted Natalee ot go on this trip. While I am not pointing fingers, I also do not subcribe to the Pededstal that most put Beth Twity on. To me some hypocrisy exits in that most people pre-judge Joran and his gamily while they do not hold the same standards on the other side of this situation.
And I am in no way believing that the FBI is the end all as they pertain to this case. Way too many people put too much faith in the FBI.
I really believe that Natalee is NOT on that Island or she would have been found by now.
My main concern is the lynch mob mentality that I see which is so prevalent on these sites/blogs. As Americans we are "on-display" to the rest of the world. And unfrotunately this case has brought out the fringe of the USA society for the rest of the world to see. Can you imagine what they think of us now, all of their concerns are being verified byt these crack pots and the lynch mob.
So many people refuse to conceed the truth that we know NOTHING about this case. If these same people were to subtly change the specifics to this case they would easily change their focus very quickly.
I see the worst in some people coming ouot, it's as if they are so morbid and daylight til dawn theorize about rapes, drugs, sex slaves, it's all so disgusting to me and to the rest of the world. As if every single problem can be blamed on someone else rather than looking in the mirror.

The detective hired says he believes they have the right person in jail and this investigation, had it been conducted properly, should have been wrapped up in three days. Says there were things that should have been done that weren't done. The DNA testing, search warrants not issued, evidence not taken, photographs, even though in a foreign country, you still gather information such that should you have to go forward with prosecution you have established items.

Monday should have test results.

Awesome....They have Dr. Henry Lee, Forensic investigator/researcher says the saliva sample would establish a controlled DNA. If the hair belongs to the victim can look for blood, hair samples and dry skin tissue to look at DNA male DNA has a marker so it would be important to have. The tape itself had five category exam: hair, the tape itself..physical character, glue, fiber holding it together, known tape they can search the house or car and compare anything found, also dried tissue skin material or fingerprint impression. So they took DNA samples from the boys under a controlled situation for comparison.

Two different wittnesses have stated that they saw the three suspects in a white Nissan pickup. Couldn't the registration records be searched for that type of vehicle. If the suspects do not own such a vehicle then it was borrowed from someone. Investigators could contact the owners to try and find the appropriate owner. Perhaps the owner locations could be checked to see if any live near the Van Der Sloots.
