Dan,
Very sad, the suffering never seems to stop for the people of Iraq. One's thoughts cannot stop with Iraq. The whole World is shrinking into one massive terrorist attack.

God bless and watch over our heroic troops and the brave Iraquis struggling for freedom and democracy, at any cost. We must fortify them with our full support. Enemies of freedom are everywhere, murmering sedition, lies, and giving comfort and support to our enemies.
We must not cower in fear like they would like us to do. We must not listen to those kool-aid drinking morons who don't know that freedom is paid for by someone else's sacrifice. They are more than willing to step on that blood to enjoy the privileges of a free society, so long as they can grumble about free speech, and act abominably towards the freedom fighters.
GOD BLESS AMERICA, our troops, our President, and all patriotic Americans and people of the world struggling towards democracy.

thank you dan
most people do not realize that iraq is the mason dixon line of the sunni and the shiite populations and that the sunnis abhor the shiites, that most of the iraqis were at one time citizens of iran (persians) and were forced to become iraqi (arabs) and fight against their own "tribe" during the iran iraq war.
the sunni insurgents are killing the shiites in iraq on a daily basis like they are killing us
i don't want our people over there either. but if they are there, we should hear more about why!

thank you dan My prayers go out to Sabah, his family, and his neighbors also. I realize it is trying time for iraqis and I do not inderstand the need for insurgents to try to ruin Iraq's economy. These people have been through hell and back. Where in the koran does it say killing innocent people and chidren is good?
I want to also thank all the soldiers in Iraq for being there and I want you to know Many here in Canada do not stand by our Prime minister for not participating in this war on terror.
May God bless the innocent in Iraq and keep them safe.

Thank you Dan. Reading stories like those of Sabah really do bring the reality home. It makes me feel helpless though, and I also think about the countless people out there going through similar struggles who don't even have a computer or a camera to document it. Terribly sad...

God bless the people of Iraq. It is beyond me how one could take the life of another, let alone a child.
My nephew leaves Tuesday for Iraq, he has been there almost from the beginning, one of the lucky ones that gets to come home at least once a year.
My best friends wife is special ops, in Afghanistan and Iraq as well. Neither of them talk about what they have witnessed, both however believe in what they are doing. Alice called home a short time ago, the three Seabies killed in Afghanistan last week were in her unit, all she would tell my friend was, i'm ok, and he knew better than to ask anymore. She reports her travels, only after the fact. I also have an X brother inlaw, who WAS special forces prior to and during the Gulf war, I remember several years before that war, he was sent into Iraq with his unit for surveillance. When he came home, all he would say was, you would not believe it, even if I could tell you.
What really gets me is the people, Americans who don't believe we belong there. I hate war as much as the next person. However, I also believe all people should be able to have the freedoms that I have. Not everyone is privledged like I have been, to be born white, American and Christian. And yes, I also believe, I am my brothers keeper!
I also believe, Saddam was a WMD.

Well to the comment that 'many' in Canada do not support the decision to go to Iraq. Yes, this is true. Just as true....many more Canadians support not sending troops to Iraq. I'm PROUD of the fact that Canada's politicians could seperate the logic of going to Afghanistan from the lies that Bush peddled to get support for Iraq.
Someone else states...
" What really gets me is the people, Americans who don't believe we belong there. I hate war as much as the next person. However, I also believe all people should be able to have the freedoms that I have. "
It's possible to achieve freedom, without having to go to war to get it.
If one could simplify, Euro thinking prior to the Iraq War it was this. War is a last resort.
American thinking. War is an option.
So, Bush chose the option...Euro's past unconvinced that it was a necessary last resort, and well folks...
You've got what you've got in Iraq.
