This came in from Dutch blog Hasibokus ... I have not been able to confirm.
Diario is reporting that they learned through various reliable sources that the Natalee Holloway case is (almost) solved. Diario reported today that around midnight the police closed of the pond that was being drained in the vicinity of Aruba Racquet Club. Immediately after that the local police and FBI went to the site with special equipment to conduct a thorough investigation. It is believed that the remains of Natalee Holloway have been found in the pond. Diario has approached the local authorities to get a statement from them regarding the finding of the body. The police officers got nervous and wouldn’t go into details.

Don't worry about that punk Stephen. Yep. YOU ARE A LITTLE PUNK. You don't know a damn thing.
This guy's daughter was murdered. His team has like an 80% recovery rate. Nobody is perfect. This guy was working so endlessly down in Aruba he was taken to the hospital for exhaustion.
Get a life loser.

My 14 yr. old daughter will be starting highschool this year with a plan to graduate in 3 years and move on to NYU. She has been following this story and I am glad because I want her to know what is out there and that bad things happen to good people. I am sure after all she has read in these pages she will think twice before trusting just anyone or leaving her drink unattended. She did say though that it bothered her that Natalees friends let her go by herself. She said she could not imagine that happenening as hard as she tried. Why would you let your friend leave with three stangers? Just would not happen.

I'm staying on FOX because at 4 AM this morning they were reporting that Greta was back down in Aruba.

Don't understand this - Greta's newsletter for today was just posted/sent out, and she states she flew back to WaDC from NYC.

i hope this is soon over to give beth and dave some type of closure. i feel bad for them but will be glad to see jug vanish from the limelight. he wants to be see me see me. robin dave's wife isn't like that.

It's TOO QUIET on t.v.!! Something is up!
Posted by: Ria | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 12:39 PM
Greta was in Washington yesterday. I bet she's on her way to Aruba right now.
Posted by: Shari | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 12:39 PM
I thought it was odd that they had a huge tent up around the pond last night. I thought they would only do that if they found a body/remains or expected to do so. I was puzzled as to why Greta didn't remark on that. I didn't expect to see a huge tent up just for a shoe.

Minnesota Dad - I agree that it is suspicious that suddenly the stalled investigation seems to be moving forward. I wonder how the Three Amigos feel now that they are the dispensable ones? It's possible that they may be having the 'frame the security guards' played right back at them now. (Only, of course, I believe wholeheartedly that the Three Amigos are, indeed, responsible for Natalee's disappearance.) I don't discount the possibility that the body has been moved, if found in the pond, and witnesses suddenly appear, etc. and the powers that be (after the Dutch cronies have been 'fired')are quite willing to sacrifice the Dutch boy and the Surinamese bros. for the good of Aruban economy. Poetic justice in a way, no? The one thing that troubles me is the burying the body in dry land. OK so they know that it will fill up with water eventually. That's a lot to be remembering in a panic situation.

@happy 44,
Jug is simply trying to keep the story in the press and the pressure on the LE. you cant really think he is enjoying the limelight. Get a clue before you type crap like that.
someone must make contact in aruba, whats going on at the pond?

FOX News just showed Nat's mom live being interviewed from Aruba. There is no news. No mention of any body being found, and Nat's mom looked perfectly fine. They are still waiting......

i think jug has been the most supportive man to beth - EVER!! he's not a see me see me kind of person. he is hurting just as much as beth, dave, aunts, uncles and friends! be fair!! he's beth's voice when she can't deal with it! i respect him totally!!

tt,
I have been watching Fox since this story broke. They didn't interview Beth, what are you talking about?
Posted by: Shari | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 12:46 PM
Is it possible that they dismembered Natalee. Put some of it in the pond, some in the beach grave, and rest at the land fill.
Or part in the Cesspool to make GrannyToad happy.
What if the body is NOT Natalee, but a local?
They can't re-arrest the Kalpoe's until the body is POSITIVELY ID'd as Natalee's
Where are all you "She was fed to the Sharks" Theory people? Haven't heard from you in 48 hours now

if this is false info AGAIN! i'm just going to scream! how would they be able to put such information in a paper without confirming anything??
Posted by: Ria | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 12:46 PM
So,
Joran lost one tennis shoe and it was believed that the shoe might be in the pond.
The shoe being lost proved that he could not have walked home because of the rough terrain in Aruba the night that Natalee disappeared.
Posted by: Cindertaz | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 12:47 PM
they found something - otherwise FOX news would be following up on this pond thing every five minutes like they normally do!
Posted by: Ria | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 12:48 PM
I have Fox on and have not heard anything regarding this case at all???
Posted by: Cindertaz | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 12:48 PM
The best thing to do when a person such as Stephen posts ridiculous, cruel, boring comments is to ignore him...he wants to aggravate and get a reaction out of everyone...poor guy, this is his idea of entertainment and fun...rather pathetic. Disregard this poor soul.

The Diario is only speculating on the possibility of a body being found, nothing official yet.
Aruba waters have only small sharks, they would have to navigate all the way to the ocean between Aruba and Venezuela where larger sharks are found.
I've never heard of a shark attack in Aruba my whole life.
Posted by: Disappointed Arubian | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 12:49 PM
Theres no news coming out right now because they have to notify the family first... if in fact it is natalee.

No problem, So!

FlaGrl - glad you're watching Fox - they're watching you, too. ; )
As to Miller - I might remind some here that you have never seen an EquuSearch donation link on this weblog and you won't. Anyone who has suffered a loss, as Miller has, deserves respect - and all volunteers, including searchers deserve credit. But American media had not told the whole ES story and they likely never will.
I don't bash them, however, I would never contribute to their efforts. Just my personal free, red white and blue American preference.
That is all. Updates if I get word, every network is scrambling for info, trust me on that one. ; ) - Dan

Ria !
The title: NOTICIA DI ULTIMO ORA...CASO SOLUCIONA? Natalee dera den Saliña?
Translates into:
Breaking News…..Case Solved?.....Natalee buried in pond?
See the question marks?
If it`s not true and just some teaser it would make me sick to my stomach...really sick

I just sent e-mails to Greta at Fox and to the Diario, asking for some confirmation.
Frustrating.

Thanks Disappointed Arubian! Are you in Aruba? What are you hearing/seeing?? Can you help us out here?
Posted by: Ria | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 12:54 PM
I believe it is false I still cannot ignore what my heart is telling me that there is a happy ending to come. I cannot explain the feeling of calm about bodies and murder in this case since June 11th reports of a body. I believe God is saying he will bring her home alive in his time!
Posted by: Eugene Bernat | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 12:55 PM
The fact that the Diario is reporting it means that this story (about the case being closed to being solved and that a body may be found) is FALSE. The Diario has been wrong all along. What kind of journalism school did these people go to. Does'nt the head of the Diario own half of Aruba and the Aruban people?
Posted by: Another Observer | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 12:55 PM
What's happening?! There is nothing on fox! Is this because they are waiting for Greta to get there so she gets the first break on the story? Or do they need to tell the family first or get it id'd first?
Posted by: peony | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 12:56 PM
Gosh Eugene - I sure hope so! That would be the most unbelievable ending!
Posted by: Ria | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 12:56 PM
i'm thinking they have to get all their facts in order; tell family members anything before they can "blurt" anything out!

minnesota dad,
If this is confirmed (where are you Checkme from yesterday?) I do not believe the boys will walk. Everyone in Aruba and Holland now realizes the Americans are very serious. It will be lot more than the Alabama state legislature bocotting Aruba if these punks get a slap on the wrist.

i agree with you also DennisAOK!! these boys will NOT be walking!!!
