Diario Reporting Natalee Holloway Remains Found?
This came in from Dutch blog Hasibokus ... I have not been able to confirm.
Diario is reporting that they learned through various reliable sources that the Natalee Holloway case is (almost) solved. Diario reported today that around midnight the police closed of the pond that was being drained in the vicinity of Aruba Racquet Club. Immediately after that the local police and FBI went to the site with special equipment to conduct a thorough investigation. It is believed that the remains of Natalee Holloway have been found in the pond. Diario has approached the local authorities to get a statement from them regarding the finding of the body. The police officers got nervous and wouldn’t go into details.

Revelation 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

1 Corinthians 15:51 ¶Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

UPDATE 38 : Aruban officials began draining a pond Tuesday night in the search for Natalee Holloway. The pond was near the Aruban Raquet Club and is where two brothers said they dropped her and Joran van der Sloot off on May 30th. An eyewitness came forward and reported that he saw the car of Deepak Kalpoe stationed near the pond. According to the witness Satish Kalpoe and Joran van der Sloot were present as well the night he saw them there. The eyewitness reported that he saw Joran sitting behind the wheel. Most people find this strange because the mother of Deepak reported various times that Deepak treated his car like his girlfriend and wouldn’t let anyone drive it (expect for his brother). Most times he wouldn’t even take his car to work because he did not want it to get scratched while parked. According to AweMeinta it will take between 24 to 72 hours to drain the whole pond. Meanwhile, the 18-year-old's mother has announced a $1 million reward for her daughter's safe return. Beth Holloway Twitty made the announcement yesterday that the reward from $200,000 has been raised. There is also $100,000 reward in place for information leading to Holloway's remains

Why no other reports? If it did occur around midnight more reports should be leaking by now.

Godspeed Natalee!!!!!

At what time did diaro report this?
Posted by: nancy | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 11:38 AM
Is this not the same story and information that was discussed yesterday on these forums about 6pm pst or almost 15 hours ago?

OMG - been busy, but lurking....can it finally be over for the Holloway-Twitty family? God Bless them all, how sad.
Posted by: Stumped | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 11:38 AM
If they taped off the area, they found something.
There are probably helicopters or atleast one helicopter over the area unless they have banned it for the time being.
We'll hear something shortly, this story already leaked.
If this is true, finally this family can have peace and this mother can bring her daughter HOME. Let's hope that if this is her then her remains will be examined by U.S. authorities with DNA samples hopefully not degraded.

The date on the top of the Diario article is July 27th

Whao....i hope she's still alive though...its sad to find out the truth i guess.
Posted by: Evangeline | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 11:42 AM
The only way this could be true is if the body was moved there recently. Maybe someone with power decided enough is enough. I don't think there is anyway she could have been there the entire time.

Wasn't there mention of this pond being dry at the time of the dissapearance? Could the boys or PvDS know it would soon be filled and they buried her there?
Posted by: RJ | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 11:45 AM
I can't get the link for the English version to work. Does anyone know how to get to an English version of the Diaro article?
Posted by: cricket | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 11:47 AM
JUST KEEP PERSPECTIVE PLEASE! I DO NOT SPREAD RUMORS THE STORY AS STATED SAYS "I" HAVEN'T CONFIRMED.
I don't re-create the NYTimes here and have never claimed to. It is an attempt to show how news gets formed and ultimately reported, confirmed, dismissed, etc. And I don't report any silly thing which comes my way. Diario is Diario - it is "their" report as translated by Hasibokus for now.

this seems to fast for me to believe it. i do think she was buried in the mud, the shoe is in there too.....but i thought they were still draining, which means it would take time to get it dry, then to dig.
seems to fast......

I hate to be looking at any other blog then RWV - but since Scared Monkeys was brought up yesterday in one of Dan's post - I had to take a peek ...
They have a post on there now w/ Ruben Trappenberg, spokesperson for the Aruban Government listing several reasons why she wouldn't be found there.
But I really like what 'chance' says... she could have been moved there... but then again ... oh lord O hope this ends soon for the sake of much needed closure.

This article was on the blog yesterday. Is there something new that has been added to it?

This is what your site is about. Thanks for the post Dan.

Hopefully they will be able to gather some DNA to determine if any of the brothers or Joran were involved or if she was raped or drugged.
God bless the Holloway-Twitty family!

Beth said last night that her main focus was to just get through "the next 24 hours".
Beth knows. A mother always knows. God bless Natalee and the Holloway family.

if joran knows that tennis club well enough, he would have known that that area quickly collects with water.
i think it would have been a very sneaky but wise (in the sense of "evil" wise) to hide any evidence there.
the ocean is pretty obvious.
anyone know how far this area is from the road? is it hidden behind a building or anything?
Posted by: shyne235 | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 11:49 AM
she wasnt moved there, that makes no sense.
Posted by: barneyfife | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 11:49 AM
barney
You are right it does seem fast, but if like I said it was a field and someone knew it would be a pond soon, wouldn't that maybe cross their mind as a place to put her?
Posted by: RJ | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 11:51 AM
If this is infact true which I think it is because Aruba's media would be the first to break the news. Thank God that she is finally going to rest in peace back home in Alabama. All I can ask is that all those who were involved get what they have coming to them. Not only was this an embarassement for the Aruban people but also your partying days are over you fools thought they would never find her. I hope you rot in jail.

"It is believed that the remains of Natalee Holloway have been found in the pond."
This isn't stated anywhere in the Diario. The rest of the translation is correct.

Also, I find it interesting that coverage on this story mysteriously vanished about a 1/2 hour ago from MSN.com. Perhaps just a coincidence or maybe because there will be an update soon...?
Posted by: AEC0115 | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 11:53 AM
Thanks Dan.
I do think this one could have merit and hope it does for the family, if nothing else. It's my belief that "we can deal with what we know, it is the unknown that tends to take us under." i.e.. Knowing where your daughter is would be far better for the family than not knowing and always wondering and envisioning the worst feeling as though you did not look everywhere or try everything possible.
Burying her in a pond that you know will fill with water when it rains would actually be a fairly well thought out disposal method. Even if searchers were to search when it was filled, they would not find her if buried... I do wonder if the boys were capable of thinking and planning this type of disposal or if they had help from a much "wiser" and older adult.

If anyone knew it was Daddy vdS.

Hoping someone responds to the question about an English translation of Diario, I have tried to find one and even emailed Diaro to ask, but got no response.
Is there one? If there is, could you tell us?
Posted by: D | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 11:55 AM
i think its a logical place to bury her, no doubt. original surface searches did not find her, doesnt mean she was there the whole time. i expected them to find the body buried in the mud, with the shoe.
but i did not expect them to find her last night. just seems to fast....

Story is gone from Fox News also.....wonder if this could be true. :(
Posted by: DoloresP | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 11:56 AM
maybe story is gone, because they cannot confirm or found out it may be false. What time is it in Aruba now?
Posted by: RJ | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 11:56 AM
If this is where she is, this makes sense to me.
An expert in killers was interviewed on MSNBC and said that killers are predictable in the sense that they like to return to the scene of the crime. This would cooberate the two witnesses that saw the boys in this location after Natalee went missing. This expert also said that if it is a crime unplanned, hurried, they tend to dispose of the body in a location familiar to them. (Joran)
No reports on FOX thus far.
Check other news outlets here in the states.
Where are the Arubans on here? Wonder if they are hearing anything on the streets.

Do not jump to conclusions until the truth is absolutely affirmed. Out of respect for the H-T family, if for no other reason. Please.

What a dumbass if they find his shoe with her. Gives new meaning to "If the shoe fits" doesn't it.
Posted by: RJ | Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 11:59 AM
markmywords: You said, "A mother always knows." I agree. Beth seemed particularly nervous, scattered, during the interview with Hannity and Colmes. Don't know if it's Natalie, but it's something. So much movement all at once, after nearly 2 months of waiting. And, of course, if remains have been/will be found, that goal, too, is so very difficult. One part of the journey might end, but there's an entirely new part of the journey, after so much trauma, to begin. I mean, where do you put your energy after all that time if your goal, your focus, is completed? I pray for Natalie, her family, but especially for Beth.
