I had started using an image of a bracelet for Natalee Holloway in my discussion forum posts, until someone from the AP happened along and suggested that I didn't have the rights to the picture. They said to forget about it, but I stopped using it on principle.
Hopefully the website which sells bracelets to raise funds for Natalee's cause won't be quite so concerned.
Way to go man from AP - real class for pointing that out.
Important Note - It was not a formal communication from the AP, but someone claiming to be the photographer who took the picture. "How great thou art?" Not ... Sorry.
If you haven't figured it out, yet ... you can buy bracelets here.
UPDATE: Here is an article about the fellow who is making the bracelets to help the cause.
Someone should warn him, no good deed goes unpunished.
DANVILLE, Va. - Tim Hilliard can’t say exactly why he decided to help the family of missing Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway, who disappeared nearly three weeks ago while on her senior class trip to Aruba.

I have a bracelet and a yarn prayer bracelet. I will be glad to take a picture of my arm that you can use.

Debbie,
That was pretty cool of you. I agree to be a back up, as I have mine. Thank you, Mrs. JH, and you, Dan.

Dan...
Thank you for posting, I just ordered a few.
And someone is territorial over a picture of a bracelet when proceeds go to a grieving mother and her quest for finding her daughter?
What goes around always comes back around and this person should be ashamed of him/her self!

The blue "Hope for Natalee" bracelets were started by a guy in my hometown. I used to work with his wife and know that he is a wonderful Christian man. I know he would be upset that a photographer would try to interfere with the sale of the bracelets. Therefore I am sending contact information to Dan so that he can get a picture directly from the maker. The guy owns a printing company. I think he can handle it.

Don't think the photographer would try to be in the way - but he deserves credit for his work. The photographer made it a very important photo that many people have held onto as a connecting item. More sites using this photo should post credit where credit is due. I've had "credit" posted with the photo since I discovered it weeks ago. Everyone - including the wondrous bracelet manufacturer who's been kind and grew sales from the popularity of this photo should post CREDIT AS FOLLOWS:
Madison Whatley, a friend of Natalee Holloway, shows off bracelets she wears in support of the missing Alabama teen on Tuesday, June 21, 2005, in Mountain Brook, Ala. (AP Photo/Jay Reeves)
More Photos http://wordpark.com/test/aruba.html - listed with full disclosure of who took them and for what news service (in cases where people make money from these photos, need more of them they may want to purchase them through the listed news services). I post them for the general public's benefit - with full credit given and no funds possible to be received from them. These are the pictures that have disappeared from the Yahoo Feed series and will otherwise not be seen again and people want to know where they are. When they are used in documentaries, magazines, and etc. later - everyone will still want to see them with more description and well grouped.

Hi;
Now that the FBI can have access to the case file from the beginning,I think that the Holloway / Twitty family and friends should be very careful about what information is relayed to the media.
In fact, saying nothing might be a great idea for the time being.
I do not know Dutch Law as it relates to evidence, but no one would want this case compromised later on because of leaks in the media.
George Twitty wanted the FBI or someone to go back to the beginning and interview the people that were with them when they were first on the island. Beth has a notebook where she kept track of everything everyone said to her from the beginning.
We, the public, will just have to wait and let the investigators do their work.
Natalee embodies all the good things that can be in a daughter, friend, sister and family member. Maybe that is why there is so much public outrage and anger at what has happened in Aruba.
I hope and pray that this will be concluded soon.

I have ordered some and am anxiously waiting. Does anyone know I might be able to send a card or letter to Beth & Jug and Dave? Beth has become an important part of my life as I am sure she has others, even though we have never met. Thanks.

Ever since I heard about the Natalee bracelet, I've been trying to find one... but I havent had any luck. Every where I go has sold out of them... any suggestions on where to find one? My best friend and I drove to Mtn Brook last weekend, and signed her wall... Some of the things on the wall that people had written brought tears to our eyes. I dont know Natalee but she's my sister in Christ. God bless her family and friends. One day she will come home.

This case has bothered me since the beginning...I mean, we always notice missing persons cases, and shake our heads at what a world we live in, but we tend to move on with our lives without being truly affected...I can't seem to tear myself away from any miniscule bit of information about Natalee Holloway. I feel somewhere in the back of my mind that she is alive, and that someone in Aruba knows where she is. If you notice, the All Points Bulletin on her has been amended recently to say that Natalee may have been taken from the island against her will (at least, I think it was recently...it didn't read as such when I last read it). Please let us know when more bracelts become available, as I don't have mine yet. Thanks.

Where can I get one of those bracelets?
Posted by: Melanie | Sunday, September 11, 2005 at 03:10 PM
I have been trying since August to get a few bracelets and every link I try doesn't say how to get them. Please, someone let me know how to get these. I pray for Beth,Dave,Jug and the family, I can only imagine the horror they are going through. God still works MIRACLES. I have 4 grown children, and I can't even imagine being nearly as strong in any way as Beth has been. God Bless You Beth, you are an Anchor for your daughter, I know only God has given you the strength to do all you have done, and are continuing to do. Keep the Faith, and NEVER GIVE UP until your daughter is found-----regardless of the cost. God paid the price already! He will see you all through this.
God Bless & Keep You,
Gloria Palumbo
