Aruban Media Faults FBI: Calls Americans "Suspects"

Caribseek Aruba News | Stepfather threatens to release more information, Father refuses to cooperate with investigators - A.M. Digital.

Over the week-end local authorities decided to start “talking” to some members of the family and amongst others decided to talk to Natalee’s father. He became very furious about this and at certain moment decided to leave the table and abandon the police precinct. He did not agree with the form in which he was “attacked”. As such the father refused to cooperate in answering questions that were put to him by the investigating team.

In the meantime we could hear and see on CNN how the step father, mr. Twitty, threatened to disclose damaging information if one or more of the suspects is released. He did not wish to say anything else but we can see here that this person has started to threaten the Aruba authorities and question the country’s judicial system. This is not acceptable.

For what the suspects in the USA are concerned – we cannot qualify them otherwise – we think the FBI has work to do to find out if they really wish to cooperate to bring this case to an end. By the way, on the FBI website Natalee Holloway does not appear as a missing person.

BamaMom, I also wondered about that same thing. It seems you can buy a witness over there real easy. It would be nice to know they were being honest, but we have no way of knowing that.

But say they were being honest, then how does that help out the Kalpoes? If no one was seen on the beach and the Kalpoe car had not been seen, I am still at a loss how this managed to help get them released (this supposedly was the evidence they were being truthful but Joran wasn't according to their atty).

Some much uninformed speculation just further confuses this case and it is hard to make sense of anything. Some point to the fact of PVDS making a statement about no body no crime. The say that he must have been involved. But they fail to note that this statement was captured through a wiretap of the boys were first questioned by the police and not held. ORANJESTAD - We think it is about time to correct the false information that is constantly being published and aired, especially by the international (US) media, that Caribseek News was used as a cat litter pan liner in the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba.

This is absolutely false and according to information that we have, the Caribseek News was used as a litter pan liner only in Surinam and Aruba but not in the Netherlands Antilles as a whole

Surinam is no longer part of the Netherlands Antilles, having achieved independence from the Netherlands in the last century, aroung 1998 or 1999.

In 2003, Nelson Obender, the Prime Minister of Aruba, as part of his formation to become a non-hair-impaired individual, did his utmost to correct the record. As such he followed training as his wish was to one day to have hair and to not look or talk so weird. He did his utmost. He functioned as a deputy Prime Minister, but always under supervision of an established Monarch or Oligarch.

In March 2004, Caribseek News did its utmost to travel to Holland for a year and when it returned to Aruba in March 2005 cat owners did their utmost to hold their noses since the litter pans he did not receive the required recommendation to become changed of their news liners.

The results of his changing in Holland were not sufficient to become to the utmost, and the Prime Minister was notified by the President of the Common Court of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba that he cannot function as an Hairy Man (e.g. Easua's brother in the Old Testament)or as a Smooth Man and has to look for another function.

We know for a fact that several cats were reported missing before the PM did function to the utmost as a haired man. Then, working to his utmost, he functioned as PM because there was no probable cause since March 2004, and when he functioned as a deputy PM before that time, it was always under supervision of an established Judge of the Common Court of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba.

We think that for the sake of correctness and objective news distribution, the media, and especially US media such as CNN and Fox News must stop sensacionalizing the entire PM drama and quit giving false information to the international public about his wig.

I seriously cannot help but laugh at the people that get on here and trash the USA.....do you have nothing better to do? Jealousy is an ugly trait you know. I know it is irritating if you are competitive and are always number two, but keep in mind it's not a competition when discussing countries. Is this investigation a prime example of debachery?.....absolutely. And the saddest part is that Aruba's own incompetence is what is leading some people to try to justify a thought process that the three kids are innocent. Yes the Twitty and Holloway family were in the US and could not have been around Natalee while she was in Aruba. I doubt that the authorities wanted to question Jug about this.

Should not at least the Aruban authorities ask questions to find out if Natalee had an excessive amount of life insurance to at least eliminate the possibility of a staged disappearance to collect insurance, as remote as this possibility is. The police in the US always go through the process of eliminating those closest to the disappeared person, and almost always those investigated are offended, but understand they must be eliminated as suspects.

If I were Jug, I would want Natalee to be found and would want to cooperate in any way I could.

Did I miss something some where? If you live in a country that relies HEAVILY on tourist dollars from the US, why do you try to bash the main players instead of working to sort out the problem? I really hate to see this island in a downward spin. It's an AWSOME place. Hopefully this will be resolved soon. I believe for Aruba it would be better to sacrifice Joran van der Sloot to save the economy, or maybe just let him out of jail.. Likely enough American tourist visiting there that someone would volunteer to 'Drop him off at the beach so he can be alone'

I doubt there was much planning to it. Island is small, in open water, with strong currents and a rocky coast. Given the right tides, and location on the island(which are likely know by someone who has spend a good part of their life there) it would be like tossing a bottle in a flowing river. Sailing away.

Jug is Natalee's stepfather, not her father. At any rate, I believe that her father's (or stepfather's) response to the questioning is totally understandable. The father knows that his daughter has most likely been raped, killed, and fed to the sharks. He and the rest of the world have watched the Aruban police bungle this case to the point that Natalee never be found, and we may never really know what happened, and NOW they want to question her parents as if they are SUSPECTS? I believe that any man with daughters would react in the same exact way with equal rage at what has happened to his child.

I certainly think it's relevant to question the parents about Natalee's associations, plans, etc. I did not read that family members were being accused, as some say above, just questioned. That has got to be one of the most demanding aspects of law enforcement, questioning the loved ones in their darkest hours. But as always, why wait so long? If you remember that case down in Florida where the little girl disappeared out of her home. The grandmother, grandfather and father were questioned and given lie detector tests. As it turned out they were innocent and that Cooley pervert did the crime. The may have been offended (probably were) but they did what was necessary to move the investigation along. Apparantly Jug just was offended and did not cooperate.

Often time there is little evidence and good detective work looks at the possibilities and then attempts to eliminate those possibilities. I think it would be a sign of further incompetence if the Aruban police were to not consider and then eliminate possibilities, and those usually are related to those closest to the missing person.

Apparently the police did not have sufficient evidence to implicate the K brothers. You say Natalee was raped, killed and fed to the sharks, but that is just your assumption based on rumors; none of us has much in the way of facts. This is hardly sleuthing or the foundation of good police work.

No, my presumptions may be not be the foundation of good police work. I agree. However, I am not a member of the Aruban police, whose job it is to find out what happened to Natalee. I believe that they have spent an inordinate amount of time basing their case, or lack of one, on rumors as well. It was stated earlier on this blog (and on Nancy Grace) that the K brothers were dismissed because of the testimony of some random fishermen. Who knows if the testimony of those fishermen is credible, either? One DJ has already admitted to lying for the brothers; who else could be doing the same? I feel sure that whichever "father" became enraged at the questioning was just sick and tired of this whole ordeal. I do remember Mark Lunsford's comments when he was asked for his thoughts about (his family) being questioned in the disappearance of his daughter in Florida. He said, "I don't pay any attention to it. I know my mom and dad." Well, while investigators were questioning and administering lie detector tests to Mark, Archie, and Ruth Lunsford, Jessica was across the street being buried alive by John Couey. The invesigators knew he was a pedophile, yet they never searched his home until after they realized he had escaped to Georgia. They even talked to him at his door while he had Jessica hidden in his closet. Decent police work might have saved that little girl. The same applies to Natalee. Too much time has been wasted on rumors and speculation. Period.

I am suggesting that Jug should answer the questions of the Aruban Police so that the Police can follow whatever path of investigation they deem prudent.
My view is that it is probable that the family is in no way involved, but the police cannot just assume that; rather they must gather evidence to eliminate any possibilities related to them. Lots of questions that need to be asked by police are uncomfortable, and lots of crimes remain unsolved because the police follow only one path and ignore other paths.
