At present, four web logs, including this one are establishing a centralized site to continue coverage of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. It's called Blogs For Natalee and is being maintained by The Political Teen.
I plan to continue as I have been for the present, while also cross-posting some content there. In the event that this tragedy continues to go unresolved, the centralized site will allow for a continued effort by individual bloggers to contribute to the story going forward in a centralized manner.
Current participants include:
Steve Huff from Planet Huff
Richard Bingham from Hyscience
Ian Schwartz from The Political Teen
Dan Riehl from Riehl World View

Great idea Dan!!!!
I think her family will appreciate that.

Not my idea, but thanks. It was the Political Teen's idea, just for the record.

Dan,
What is the answer?
Don't look for things that don't exist. Look at the facts.
Anything you want to know about "powerful" people involved can be found from the hints and links below.
For the mystery-philes:
The "power" connection theories being put forward as regards the American side of this case are incorrect. So far as I know, they (the family) are not the "friends" of a Senator ... you'll have to work harder than that. Follow the money ... that's where power lies, and it's likely less than you think. The power, but NOT the money. Take a flyer on that one ... and you'll make a very good guess. ; )
But it's true .... a little bird told me ... and it can tell you, too.
Powerful people don't make "several" phone calls - they make "one." Now who do ya suppose that was ... now all you need to do is figure out why. Ok, commence .... Heh!

Has anyone thought of calling a psychic detective in?

Dan,
thanks to you and your fellow blog-guru's for trying to help with Natalee's disappearance.

Dan,
Do you know anything about a supposed break in to a boathouse the night (or early morning) that Natalee disappeared...wasn't there something about that?
Posted by: RealPotential | Sunday, June 26, 2005 at 11:31 PM
The break in rumor was tied to Steve Croes. Given his pending release, it's likely that it was never anything more than a rumor.

Those 3 boys know what happened to Natalee.
The father knows some of what happened to Natalee.
Although, if he was not in on it himself in the beginning he helped cover it up.
If he was not there too, then the boys did not tell him "all" of what happened either, so he wouldn't know all the truth "if" he was not there. That may never be determined.
Liars~ Liars~ Liars~ Liars~ all of them.
I have my point of view and you can all have yours.
I am grieving right now.! So do excuse me if I sound a bit harsh.

Sorry - I am thinking now that with the release of Paul - he must not know anything - and nothing must have happened at the house (no DNA or evidence found) and he must not have helped Joran - or why would they have released him - so that sort of leaves the 3 young guys - and 2 of them seem kinda innocent - so how did Joran do all of this all alone - maybe he didn't??!!

How mature and refreshing of you and blogging compatriots, Dan, to put blog egos aside and work together. Some bloggers couldn't do that to save their life.

HEy...Im new here and can barely find my way around...is this working?
Posted by: Erin | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 12:23 AM
WHAT? The only reason he was released today is because he is such a good liar & Very convincing ... he is a lawyer. That's why he was so determined to see Joran in jail. He wanted to coach him on what to say so Joran would get released also.

Isn't there at minimum some sort of law in Aruba such as "interfering in a police investigation" ? Even if nothing can be proven on Natalee's fate, the fact remains that these three falsified statements and led police astray at a critical time that might have otherwise allowed investigators to discover the truth.
Posted by: raz | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 01:47 AM
Jan,
Something might have happened at the house, but with the clown cops waiting days to serach it, evidence might have been destroyed or removed.
Posted by: DennisAOK | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 09:17 AM
I guess that is possible - that something still might have happened at the house - but unless papa VDS is totally involved in the coverup the boys would never have been able to get rid of all evidence - just not possible - and I thought the Texas group was totally impressed by the Aruban police - thought they were not that bad - so I dont know even after so many days there still should have been something - maybe she really was not there!
Posted by: Jan | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 10:38 AM
Jan - as far as the Texas Group being totally impressed. Think about it.....they are being hosted in another country and given free reign to conduct the searches as they see fit. Are they really going to slam the Aruban Polis by calling them bungling idiots right in front of them...lol, how rude would that be?

i DON'T UBDERSTAND HOW A 17 YEAR OLD SUPECT CAN HOLD IT TOGRTHER, WITHOUT SPILING THE BEANS. HERE IN THE USA WE WOULD HAVE HIM CALLING FOR HIS MOMMY. WE KNOW SHE IS DEAD, AND I TINK IT IS HORRIBLE THAT THOSE BOYS, WILL NOT AT LEAST TELL THOSE PARENTS WHERE SHE IS. FROM WHAT I UNDRERSTAND THESE GUYS LIKED YOUNG AMERICAN GIRLS TO PARTY WITH. PARENTS BEWARE OF WHERE YOU SEND YOUR DAUGHTERS. IT MAKES ME SICK TO THINK OF THIS
