Update

A source on the island tells me that he has confirmed that Joran was seen having a cream and wires attached to him in his location at the jail this evening and his interrogation continues while the two Kalpoe brothers have been taken to the prison, as has been previously reported.

Addtionally, it was stated that it is possible that the youngest Kalpoe, Satish may even be released as it is thought he might not have as direct a connection to events as some others. That has not been confirmed with another source at this time.

I have also heard that some have said the boys have changed their statement yet, again - suggesting that Natalee was left alone at the beach after becoming hysterical at the beach near the Marriot. If true, this version of a statement suggests that the elder Kalpoe, Deepak, dropped off both Joran and Satish before returning to the beach, where he was reportedly unable to find Natalee Holloway.

As this clearly departs from statements attributed to the Paulus Van der Sloot that he picked up Joran at a McDonalds at approximately 3 AM, it apears that so many statements have either come out, or are alleged to have come out of this case, that not a single one can be relied upon as true, or even confirmed at this time.

Update: Forgot to mention that it was also relayed to me that Joran v d Sloot would not join the two Kalpoe brothers at the prison, but would remain where he is being held. When I asked if that was because of his status as a minor, there was no clear answer. It was suggested that it could be that, or that it was so his questioning could be continued.

Just a thought - does it really matter what time McDonalds closes anywhere on the island? It's very possible the father could have picked Joran up at the McDonalds at 3am, but that doesn't necessarily mean he was inside of the McDonalds when he was picked up. He could have called his father to come get him and he was sitting outside waiting. If the McDonalds was closed, that would also mean no one saw him there. There are so many possiblities here, especially since the story keeps changing. I know that if I were out partying, I would get a ride home from a friend if it were 3am in the morning. I would not be calling either one of my parents to come get me at 3am...unless I was in some sort of trouble.

I highly doubt that the "wires and cream" were for a polygraph (aka: lie detector) test. Polygraphs are NOT admissible in court in Dutch Law, and so there would be absolutely no purpose (for either side) to agree to one.

It is much more likely that they were for an EKG, which may correlate to the rumors of a suicide attempt (<-- though, let me follow that by saying, that I personally do NOT think there actually was a suicide attempt, and if there was, I do not think it was Joran... though of course that's just my two cents). It is possible all of the stress is/was making him have heart pains, and as someone earlier mentioned, if someone in custody complains of chest pains or shortness of breath (two symptoms often caused by stress) they will generally get an immediate EKG.

and here is the problem with the cops in Aruba being so slow

anyone who watches Law & Order or CSI knows that many establishments do not archive their surveillance tapes, they reuse the tapes so if you want to get video surveillance evidence you basically have to go to any and every place right away to make sure you preserve it or ask each place to preserve it, do we have any indication this was done, since the story changed weeks later, do you think the Marriott saved their surveillance tapes, do you think oh maybe Mr. VDS would know this too???

Very interesting blog. I have been intrigued with this case...I think mainly b/c I have a young daughter and I can't even begin to imagine what the family is experiencing. They have been in my prayers everyday.
I am not an investigator but have been thinking about possible scenerios of what may have happened and where the authorities should probably check. My family and I went to Aruba 2 years ago and stayed in one of the Divi properties and had a very nice time. We toured the island in a rent a car. I played golf at the Terra Del Sol golf course while there and it is right close to the lighthouse. In my mind I have thought of a few places they could have dumped the body:
1. The authorities need to check records for any burials that occured the days just prior to NH disappearance. Wouldn't a cemetary be the last place you'd think to look. And, especially in a spot where someone was just buried.
2. I don't recall where the Montana area is where they say the Sloot family lived, but I'm guessing it's on the Western side of the island where we saw alot of nice homes. Have the authorities checked the marshy areas around the golf course? I remember a few holes where the water was very murky and nasty.
3. Has there been any rain since NH disappearance? If so it could hide any burial location or expose it. what I mean is that there would be an obvious depression in the ground after the rain water would pack the newly tilled soil if the soil was attempted to be left flat. Or, if mounded up it's more obvious.
4. Have tire tracks from the seized vehicles been compared to any such tracks identified in the national park area? or the area around the lighthouse?

They need to allow the FBI a more active role in this investigation because both countries have a vested interest in solving this case.

There was mention on another site that there is someone posting by the name of Lazlo on Courttv.com where he says that he was in line at the ATM machine in the lobby of the Marriott the night before she was reported missing. He says that the girl in front of him fit the description of NH and was wearing a bluejean skirt and she made serveral unsuccessful attempts at getting money from the ATM and left very upset after 20 min. of trying. He didnt notify authorites but reported this to the hotel manager when the next day he saw that NH was missing. Could it have been her or is this a hoax?

Someone posted earlier all the "action/energy" placed on Natalee. "Natalee was drunk, couldn't get out of the car"...i.e unconscious? "Natalee would not let Joran help her." ie Joran attacked her and she fought back? "They were kissing and making out in the backseat" ie they were there just watching? They said they didn't get out of the car. That's just weird...most guys would give their bud some space. So then we move to the new story.....She became hysterical...and so we left her??? Perhaps she was hysterical because she had been gang raped, or hurt. Everyone focuses on Holloway being local crime in Aruba. Wake up: By the end of this week all three remaining suspects will be released due to lack of evidence.

Only then the other scenario's will come up.

1) She was left at a beach by young v.d.Sloot nearby her hotel. What happened then nobody knows.

Speculation:
a) She got picked up by a pimp and Holoway now has a carreer in a Aruban whorehouse.(She is a wild person right?)
b) She got picked up in a boat by Columbian or Venezuelan drug smugglers and is being held for ransom. So the longer the fracas lasts in Aruba the wealthier the Twitties apear to be the higher the price.

2) Mrs Holloway came in by private jet. She said she knew (just knew) miss Holloway was not just missing.

a) On the returnflight of the jet miss Holloway got smuggled on board. So she's back home or with friends in Alabama.

It’s really quite easy for me to see why and how Natalee could become hysterical. She thinks she’s getting into a taxi cab to go either to “…back to the hotel or too another party with friends from her school.” About half the way to the lighthouse she finds out she’s in a car with three young males who are bigger and stronger and they make a comment about rape? Sheeit! Hysterical, is that what you call it?

Then she begins to come on to the drugs, perhaps slipped into her drink. All of the sudden she’s worrying about losing consciousness, feels sick to her stomach, starts breathing irregularly, and I firmly believe that she vomits inside of, as well as outside the vehicle. (In one of the many stories concocted by the Kalpoe’s and VDS’s is that Deepak was very, very [almost obsessive-compulsive] about his car. In fact, with their hiatus from investigation and prosecution it has been reported that Deepak did go to the local car wash and scrub his car relentlessly.

So, I can easily see where not just Natalee, but most 18-year-old females who are small in stature cooped up with three testosterone filled males would get not only hysterical, but wait, she’s coming onto an unknown feeling most likely drug induced. Anyone ever do any hallucinogens?

I think she fights kicks, scratches, bites, pees, and pucks her way back to the beach. I also feel that she might well be close to passing out. From yet another story we are to believe Satish Kalpoe’s rendering of, “…now something really bad is going to happen to Natalee.” Did these three males drop her off at the beach passed out? What did Satish see at the beach? A pimp? Perhaps someone who deals in human cargo? Human pleasure? Humm... P-E-O-P-L-E, we must keep this alive and on the front burner.

IMO there is certainly enough in this short rendering to hold these three and more than enough to arrest PVDS and certainly Croes.
