A source on the island tells me that he has confirmed that Joran was seen having a cream and wires attached to him in his location at the jail this evening and his interrogation continues while the two Kalpoe brothers have been taken to the prison, as has been previously reported.
Addtionally, it was stated that it is possible that the youngest Kalpoe, Satish may even be released as it is thought he might not have as direct a connection to events as some others. That has not been confirmed with another source at this time.
I have also heard that some have said the boys have changed their statement yet, again - suggesting that Natalee was left alone at the beach after becoming hysterical at the beach near the Marriot. If true, this version of a statement suggests that the elder Kalpoe, Deepak, dropped off both Joran and Satish before returning to the beach, where he was reportedly unable to find Natalee Holloway.
As this clearly departs from statements attributed to the Paulus Van der Sloot that he picked up Joran at a McDonalds at approximately 3 AM, it apears that so many statements have either come out, or are alleged to have come out of this case, that not a single one can be relied upon as true, or even confirmed at this time.
Update: Forgot to mention that it was also relayed to me that Joran v d Sloot would not join the two Kalpoe brothers at the prison, but would remain where he is being held. When I asked if that was because of his status as a minor, there was no clear answer. It was suggested that it could be that, or that it was so his questioning could be continued.

interesting, the truth will come out at some point... maybe one of them cats actually have a concience
cream and wires, ehh?

What exactly is 'cream and wires' ?
Posted by: ATLJoie | Monday, June 20, 2005 at 11:12 PM
Someone from Aruba reported the McDonald's closes at 1 am !!!
Posted by: loco | Monday, June 20, 2005 at 11:12 PM
cream and wires?
can someone explain to me what this means?
Posted by: chel | Monday, June 20, 2005 at 11:12 PM
Cream and wires means Polygraph right ?
Posted by: loco | Monday, June 20, 2005 at 11:13 PM
However the TRIO now explains why the brothers lied !!!. This is starting to take shape
Posted by: loco | Monday, June 20, 2005 at 11:15 PM
Cream and wires is a staple Aruban dish consisting of wired pasta in a garlic cream sauce
Posted by: Rabaul | Monday, June 20, 2005 at 11:17 PM
how do you attach a plate to a body ???? cream and wires attached means ELECTRODES; ergo Polygraph or do you think he meant an electrcardiogram?
Posted by: loco | Monday, June 20, 2005 at 11:20 PM
Those cream and wires seems to be some kind of lie detector tool I think. If that's the case, then it is a clear sign that the fbi is mixing up with the story, because the dutch/aruban law doesn't support a lie detector result.
Posted by: nagpur | Monday, June 20, 2005 at 11:20 PM
joran is a sociopath and could probably pass any polygraph given to him. They will wait out their 116 days, the body will never be found, and the kids will get set free. This is what they are waiting for.
Posted by: razzy | Monday, June 20, 2005 at 11:20 PM
or maybe...they are letting him feel how "sweet" an electric chair would be like, LOL.
Posted by: nagpur | Monday, June 20, 2005 at 11:22 PM
cream and wires today, scream and fires tomorrow. the van der sloots are now and forever the poster family for whats wrong with the world. And, Aruba/Netherlands as the enabler of such tragedies. Aruba will become an oupost of eurotrash tourism because americans will no longer flock to Aruba with safer destinations in the region. Aruba is nothing but a cesspool of lies, money laundering, drugs, corruption and obviously an inept banana republic government of forked tongued apoligists.
It is time to drop the hammer on these miscreants!

I had not heard that daddy-o said he picked up Joran and McDonalds at 3am... I still wonder if McDonald's had surveillance equipment??
I think the story that Nat became hysterical at the beach is plausible if indeed she had waken up after being drugged, etc. Hypothetically, her becoming hysterical and threatening to call the police would have definitely freaked the boys out.
She could have taken off, running for perceived safety at that point and run into bigger trouble than the three she was with...
Again hypothetically, this scenario could explain their initial stories that they thought she would show up in a day or two...also, it would explain the 6:30am phone call after Joran couldn't sleep for fear she really would go to the police with her tale.......then the longer she didn't show up, the more fearful they became realizing they were now in deep ka-ka.
unlikely? maybe? Plausible? maybe? nothing else seems to make sense either...
I'd love to hear other's thoughts on this

Angie, I am not a Con Law Professor, but are you a kubark confessor?
Posted by: publius | Monday, June 20, 2005 at 11:45 PM
Mel,
Sounds plausible. I think the really important question to ask is "Why did she become hysterical?" This is the second time (that I am aware of) that these boys have attributed irrational behavior to her in their stories, the first being when she apparently became beligerant (sp?) when they dropped her off at her hotel in the first story they told police. From what everyone says about her, she seems level-headed and this sort of behavior seems out of character. Maybe it is a ploy the boys are using to "criminalize" her and make their stories more believable. I personally don't see why they would leave her alone on the beach and come back later to get her. Or why she would allow herself to be left alone on a beach that late at night. Who knows, just some thoughts.
Posted by: Angie | Monday, June 20, 2005 at 11:48 PM
Mel- That would explain why one of the brothers told the security guard n jail that they thought she would show up in a few days. When the older brother went back to beach, she wasn't there. Course it makes me wonder why he went back after he took the other two home.
Posted by: AtlJoie | Monday, June 20, 2005 at 11:49 PM
Cream & Wires: EKG? Perhaps he is the one who tried to commit suicide and they are running tests? Hmmm, a type of "shock" treatment? A Polygraph? Who knows.
Now, if they just left Natalee on the beach they wouldn't have a whole lot to hide, as they really wouldn't know what happened to her. If that were true, I doubt there would be sufficent reason to detain them. I recall one of the Security Guards saying that one of the brothers told him, "we figured Natalee would turn up a few days later at a crack house or a beach..."
Well, this is getting curiouser and curiouser.

Don't mean to sound stupid, but don't get it. If you would, humor me and explain. I know what KUBARK is, but are not sure how it relates. I am sure that it is pithy, nonetheless.
Posted by: Angie | Monday, June 20, 2005 at 11:53 PM
Good points Angie and AtlJoie..... I agree, this could lend different thoughts on the whole scenario... It is interesting and no matter how we slice and dice scenarios, it still comes back to those three fellows not telling the truth and likely being up to no good in the first place..hence, her potential hysteria on the beach...
I wonder what story they will come up with next???
Posted by: Mel | Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at 12:07 AM
Forgive me, but I am not so quick to convict. We are here on a computer speculating with every piece of info we see, read and hear. I do wish for her family that it comes to an end soon and in a just way, but, in all reality, the truth may never come out. Those 3 must be sticking to "some" story even though it has changed basically I wonder if by chance if they dont know what happened to her but realize they will ultimately be responsible either way.
Posted by: ATLJoie | Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at 12:15 AM
Exactly Mel!
If your dad was an attorney cum judge, would you engage in behavior approaching the young VDS? of course not. The whole family is mafia.
I hope everyone of the van der sluts family lives with the albatross of systematic destabilization around their lives forever.
Posted by: publius | Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at 12:18 AM
i can believe that Natalee would become hysterical. if given enough alcohol, that alone can cause a fun time to flip into hysteria.
i really think it is ESSENTIAL to keep this story on the front page.
we just have to hope and pray for the family who must be suffering.
Posted by: kelly | Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at 12:19 AM
The real issue is that once again we are faced with a "story" from these three. Could she have woke up missing clothes and become hystryical? If they simply dropped her off somewhere there would of been no reason to lie. They screwed up and were not counting on security cams at the Holiday Inn to blow their story. Not to mention they tried to place blame on two innocent guys. So now they are oh yeah well it really wasn't at the Holiday Inn it was at the beach near the Marriott. Oh no cams there. You have to ask why the lies? It still all comes back to the fact that they know what happened to her. Why they are not saying is obviously the issue, but more important is there some OTHER reason they are afraid to say what happened to her. The real deal is we are hearing things that are being leaked out without any clue if any of it has any bearing of truth to it.
Posted by: Justin T | Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at 12:31 AM
Which bro. was the one who said we figured that she would show up in a crack house? The one they are rumored to be letting go I bet.

By the way it is not one of the Kalpoe that they are talking about letting go. The rumor was it was Steve crois or however you spell it. That was on Foxnews.

JTC,
actually I perfer Starsky & Hutch

Fox is reporting that the Holloway's attorney is going to file suit to gain access to the information and evidence in the case. However, they also say that this will not be ruled on until actual charges are filed. Very interesting...
Natalee's family is what is keeping this investigation going. Their love for her and willingness to stay there until they get answers is to be applauded. I just hope they are not still there seeking answers a year from now.
Natalee has a 15 yr old half brother that must be suffering terribly knowing she is missing and the parents are in Aruba for this long period of time. Can you imagine??? I can't.
I do believe it is possible that these guys don't know what really happened in the end and are just young, immature spoiled kids that until now thought they were invincible..I keep trying to remember that we on this end, have no real facts, only heresay at this point....

Does anyone know what "having a cream and wires attached to him" means? Dan?
Posted by: Frank | Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at 12:44 AM
It's what they use to put the electrodes to adhere to your skin when giving a lie detector test. It's a conductivity gel that enhances the eletrical impluses from your body to give readings.

I am assuming that cream and wirer means a polygraph test. Maybe in Arruba they can compel you to take a polygraph, but assuming that it is voluntary. No attorney would let a client take a polygraph unless they knew in advance what the result would be. In other words if the attorney let this happen he or she knows that the client is telling the truth.
Posted by: Karl | Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at 01:34 AM
If they left her on the beach as they say and she was the victim of a random attack, then there would have been a body. That person would not have gone in the trouble of disposing the body; for one thing, it would be very risky.
Posted by: Ari | Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at 02:48 AM
Only an idiot wold take an polygraph test if he didn't know he was innocent.
Posted by: Cerulean | Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at 03:44 AM
On the subject of the new story the guys are telling...in trying to put myself in their place I've thought, "If I were them, I would've said I left her on the beach. That way, if she turns up dead, someone else did it." Maybe they finally had the same thought. Besides, if that was the truth, I see no benefit for them in changing it to leaving her in the parking lot of the hotel, and even less benefit to the story Deepak told the security guard Mickey Johns. It would not have be a crime to leave her on the beach. They were not legally responsible for her. When you're talking about a possible homicide, the ONLY reason you don't tell the truth is that it would be incriminating. These boys have changed their stories at least three times and haven't really incriminated themselves yet. What were the first two lies for?!
As for the "cream and wires," it would most likely be a polygraph. But having worked in a hospital as a respiratory therapist in a prison town, I can say that prisoners often "get sick," usually reporting chest pains, shortness of breath and nausea, all of which are signs of heart attack and automatically earn them an EKG. The alleged suicide attempt may have garnered him an EKG as well if it is indeed true.
Posted by: Rissa | Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at 06:10 AM
I thought they didn't do polygraphs in Aruba? Or at least that they won't hold up in their court system. I imagined also images of Abu Graib style interrogations. ;)

I'm not sure if another McDonald's has opened since the last time I was in Aruba (about 5 yrs ago).....but it was in Oranjestad and not anywhere near the California light house nor Palm Beach. For Joran to get there, he would need to have had a ride (either taxi or friend). Does anyone know if another one has opened near Palm Beach or if anyone has questioned him on how he got to McDonald's? And is McDonald's in Aruba 24hrs that it would be open at 3 1m? And did anyone see him there and how did he look?
Posted by: arubagoer | Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at 07:48 AM
If I were in the fbi I would consider the following:
The Marriott has surveillance cameras or the hotels in front of the beach were Mrs. Holloway was allegedly dropped of or question the people in that area.
Also the locate anyone with pictures of the waterfront in the area around that park: both land and sea so we can see what boats (sailing boat single mast types or cabin cruiser with windows that slant horizontal) are there. In addition, which ones may have left?
The worse thing I can see from all this that the Judge picks his son up that night and the Judge now knows she is missing and if he tell the wrong people she maybe vanishing to protect “the power that be”
It is a waiting game for us on the outside of the process. However, this could be even bigger that all of us think.
Hoping for the best.

I'm sorry but this is by far the biggest coverup since the Chandra Levi investigation. With the fact that Van der Sloot is a member of the judicial system, the impact that this is making on Aruba's reputation and tourism; odds are that Natalie is unlike to ever be found. I would not be the least bit suprised if Natalie was taken out to sea and her body disposed of. With the mere size of the waters as well as the shark population, recovery would likely be impossible.
Now there remains to be seen the slim possibility that Natatie is in fact alive but no longer in Aruba. I have heard rumors of her being abducted into some sex-slave ring.
My prayers for Natalie and her family. God Bless you Natalie, wherever you are.

Why did they not say they left her on the beach in the first place? ( cause it never happin)they all had the same story at first, that was not working then they came up with more stories, then that was working then more stories ( give me a break),instead of trying to frame the too security guys at first .they should of just said in the first place they left her on the beach or joran did... TO JORAN and FRIENDS>YOY did it we know you did somthing your lying (haha) ur caught and we dont care who ur daddy is or how much money you all have you may be some big guys on aruba soil ... WE dont care your nothing too the people from the USA.. and nats parents are going too find the truth.. and if for some reason they dont... you all will have too live with this the rest of your lives...ya right

These so called psychics: see her near water and in a dark place.
Question what do aruban’s do to protect themselves from hurricanes do they have shelters do these houses in Aruba have root sellers with a lids. If so interesting place to hid someone.
If only they could do a house to house search and of all seller and root seller on the island.
That would give the pshchis peace of mind, and not "the powers that be"!

There is a McDonalds..just around the corner from Palm Beach Hotel Allegro... it is on the beginning of the road that leads from Palm Beach inward towards NOORD. Supposedly Joran lives in Montana (an area off NOORD.) I walked to Noord once from Palm Beach.. it is about a mile and half inland. BTW the Marriott is about 10 American blocks from the road in to NOORD. I would like to know what happened..in one instance.. to the rumor (early on) that the use of her credit card was reported in the very early morning hrs. Hush Hush about from where that was??
